Author's Note

This chapter was exciting for me to write but with the holiday and a few promises, it got delayed a bit. I didn't get the chance to do a lot of editing so there may be still a few typos and stuff. Please let me know if there is any. Anyways, here it is.

Chapter 43: Nega Rainbow, Fighting For...!

When the fight starts, Cure Melody immediately brings out her Belltier. She looks Rhythm and Rhythm nods while taking out her own belltier. Both of them separate their belltier and give each other one of theirs. They attach each other's belltier and start gathering power. They eventually held hands together and uses the power of harmony.

Melody and Rhythm "Precure, Music Rondo Super Quartet!"

They fire five different colored beams and the attack quickly defeats a hundred or so of Negaminions.

Ruen smiles "Not bad, as expected of Precure. However, there are many more. Since I have things to do, I'll let you girls take care of these people. See ya!"

Ruen then teleports away, leaving the Precure alone with thousands of Negaminion.

Cure Center "That guy, what is he planning?"

Cure Diva "Whatever it is, I have a bad feeling about it…"

While Diva is looking down and thinking, she didn't notice a Negaminion sneaked up behind her. At the last moment, Cure Perfect drops in and kicks it away.

Perfect "Diva, you can lament all your mistakes later. For now, you know what you need to do, right?"

Diva looks at Perfect for a moment then nods "Yeah, let's turn these people back to normal!"

The Precure then runs into the fight and purifying the Negaminions.

Somewhere at the backstage, Hummy is running towards the stage with a bag behind her.

Hummy "I have to find everyone-nya. I never thought I would receive such good items-nya. I need to hurry up-nya!"

Hummy then gathers her thoughts of what she found a while back.

A few days ago, Hummy decides to see if she can gather information about the ABC and sneak in with a few stray cats.

Hummy "This place is huge-nya…"

Then a security man "Who is there?"

When he walks over, he only finds a few cats "Cats? Where did all these cats come from?"

As he ponders what he should do, the cat scatters in all directions. Hummy took this chance and adventure deeper. After a while, she hears a conversation over a door. Out of curiosity, Hummy puts her ear on the door and listen in.

Voice A "What was the plan again? You think that'll work?"

Voice B "I'm sure Ruen can handle it. Besides, if it goes well, we'll be able to expand our fighting force."

Voice A "However, creating Negaminion army is already taking a toll on the power source. We shouldn't be experimenting it with an unknown success rate!"

Then a familiar voice, Gyaku says "Don't worry, this is Ruen we are talking about. I'm sure he'll be able to identify a suitable host."

A brief silence fills the room before Voice B speaks "Alright, I'll let it go this time. By the way, are you doing alright?"

Gyaku "Not a problem. However, I don't think I'm suitable to be sent out onto the front line anymore. For now, I'll just help to research a way to increase the efficiency of our power."

Voice B "If that's what you want. But just to let you know, we all hope for your return."

Gyaku "I know…"

Then a sound of teleports happens and Gyaku opens the door.

Gyaku "What a bad kitty, eavesdropping on us?"

Hummy looks at Gyaku while frozen solid. Gyaku then grabs Hummy gently and bring her into the room. He places her on a chair and steps aside.

Gyaku "Stay there for a while, I'll give you something that'll help."

Gyaku turns around to grab some items while Hummy looks at Gyaku confused while seemingly frozen in place. She is simply too afraid to move. Gyaku comes back after a moment.

Gyaku shows Hummy a bag filled with many small gray and silverish spheres and says "I'm sure this will be useful."

Hummy looks at it "What is this-nya?"

Gyaku "It's a power-up item."

Hummy looks at Gyaku "Why-nya?"

Gyaku "I don't know. I just feel like it. Besides, I don't like how Ruen does things."

Hummy "Haaa, I don't get it."

Gyaku "Haha, it's complicated. It's just, I heard what happened while I was recovering."

Hummy looks at the sphere "But…"

Gyaku pets Hummy lightly "Just bring it to the Precure and let them decide what to do. You are here to find something that could help, right?"

Hummy looks at the sphere and takes it "Alright-nya! Then I'll deliver this to the Precure!"

Hummy grabs the sphere and runs off.

Gyaku watches Hummy run off and mutters "It's a gamble but I hope the Precure will use it."

As Hummy runs down the hall and makes a turn, she immediately turns back and peaks out. She sees Ruen's and with Yurina on the other side.

Ruen "Yurina, are you feeling okay?"

Yurina struggles to look up at Ruen but still manages "Yeah, I'll be fine. It's just, I…"

Before Yurina finishes answering, Ruen mutters "Sleep…"

As if Ruen's words are enchanting, Yurina falls asleep as he commands.

Ruen smiles "Just sleep for now and let me use your talent."

He takes out an egg lets it fall into Yurina's body.

Hummy sees everything and couldn't help but ask "What is happening?"

Hummy notices her mistake and quickly hide, except her tail is still exposed.

Ruen looks back "What was… a cat?"

Hummy then quickly runs away while Ruen decides to let it go. He then looks at Yurina and holds her up with his power and keeps her floating.

Ruen "Now the seed is inside, let's see how much power it can draw out. But just in case, I should give it a little push. Idol, be reborn!"

Then the seed inside Yurina glows and envelopes her in darkness. Yurina begins to struggle with another side of herself from within.

Inside Yurina, she opens her eyes "I… where am I?"

Then she sees an egg slowly transform into her.

Yurina "Eh? Who are you? Why do you look like… me?"

Other Yurina "I am born to help you."

Yurina "Help me?"

Other Yurina smiles "We became a Floral Idol, yet still very much behind from everyone else. We want to defeat them and become the idol that stands on top. Become an idol that we dream to be."

Yurina "That's… right. But…"

Other Yurina then brings up a holographic screen and displays the Precure and Negaminions fighting. However, the image is distorted. It shows the Negaminion as if they are normal people and the Precure is enjoying beating them up for fun.

Other Yurina "On top of that, the Precure has finally shown their true color. They were destroying idols as well."

Yurina is confused "What?"

Other Yurina "You think I'm lying? But there is someone who is closed to being destroyed already."

Yurina thinks for a moment and she could only think of one person.

Other Yurina then continues "Nijino Yume, that's right."

Yurina starting to believe her "The Precure were actually… really?"

Other Yurina nods "Yeah, unfortunately."

Yurina "It's hard to believe but if that is true, then…" She pauses for a second "Even then, I can't do anything about it."

Other Yurina makes a slightly sinister smile "That's not true, you are not powerless. You were using a strange power in your live stages. Now then, who do you think I am?"

Yurina asks "Are you the power?"

Other Yurina nods "Yes, but I am too much for you to handle."

Yurina "Even though, someone has to stop them."

Other Yurina "Then I have a suggestion, let me do it."

Yurina "Letting you do it? So you'll be controlling my body?"

Other Yurina "Yes, I know it sounds like a bad idea, but…"

Before she finishes, Yurina says "It's okay, please do it. If you really are that power, then I think I can trust you."

The other Yurina is surprised "Eh? Ah… Then close your eyes and relax."

Yurina's consciousness soon starts to fade and at the same time, the fake Yurina surface. When she surfaces, the darkness around Yurina begins to transform into a dress. The dress has the design of her Rainbow Steps Coord but slightly dimmed with the dress gaining sleeves and a set of boots.

Ruen "This is quite an interesting outcome. However, that form, it resembles that dress and Precure quite a bit."

Fake Yurina "I, this is… I see, her individuality took this form."

Ruen "Not a problem. Now, let's go take care of the Precure."

She nods and the two teleports back to the stage.

Hummy who saw the whole thing starting to panic "That's not good-nya. That must be the seed they were talking-nya. I have to let Melody and others know!"

When Ruen and Yurina teleport back on the stage, the Precure have just finished dealing with the Negaminion. However, due to the number, they are out of breath.

Suzu "Ru big brother…"

After Suzu, everyone looks at Ruen and also sees a girl with them.

Diva "Hmm? She looks… Familiar."

Melody then takes a closer look "Now that you mentioned it."

Ruen "Oh? Was this girl acquainted with the Precure? No, then it wouldn't have worked."

Rock "What do you mean?"

Ruen "Hmm, explaining the whole thing will take a while."

Ruen then looks at Fake Yurina "Why don't you introduce yourself. Ah, you don't have a name yet. You can just pick whatever you want."

Fake Yurina "Fine, since my existence is closer to that of Negadol and Negastar. Nega… Rainbow. Rainbow will be my name. Ah, if you are wondering why I look familiar, it is because this body belongs to a girl called Yurina."

Everyone except Perfect and Center is caught off guard.

Melody "Yurina? Why is it Yurina again?"

Ruen "Again? Hmm, maybe just bad luck that she caught my attention. Either way, we should get the show started shouldn't we?"

Perfect "I don't care if she caught your attention. But do you think the two of you can defeat all eight of us by yourself?"

Ruen shakes his head "No, I don't plan on fighting. I got more things to experiment with. Nega Rainbow, I'll be giving you a boost, are you ready?"

Rainbow nods "Of course."

She then looks at the Precure "You don't have to worry about outnumbering me. I got a solution for it!"

As Rainbow finishing her sentence, Ruen's starts his next song. When the music starts, Rainbow dashes toward Precure and split into seven. Each one has her dress change in a single color from the rainbow. Red Rainbow charges in first with a powerful leap and punches Diva. Diva barely had time to block it with one arm, but the force sent her flying towards Rock and Center.

They caught Diva as Diva says "Thanks."

Orange Rainbow charges up a ball of energy and fires a beam at the three of them. Diva, takes out her rainbow sword and swings at it. The beam is cut in half while Rock and Center stand close behind Diva and prepare to jump in as soon as the beam clears. However, when it is about to end, yellow Rainbow flashes with a teleport and shows up behind them.

Yellow Rainbow place one hand Rock and another on Center "Naive."

Rock "What?"

Center "Mm!"

As soon as the beam ends, yellow Rainbow forces energy into her palm and causes an explosion directly at Rock and Center. The blast was powerful to even hurt Diva, who stands in front of them. All three of them scream in pain and pushed forward from the explosion.

Meanwhile, after red Rainbow hits Diva, she dashes toward Perfect. She attacks Perfect with several punches and kicks, but Perfect is able to deflect or block while enduring them.

Perfect "I saw what you can do, same trick won't work twice!"

Red Rainbow "Then how about this!"

Red Rainbow throws one punch with great power and Perfect blocks it by crossing her arms. She endures the hit as well but just when Perfect think the attack is over, red Rainbow bends her wrist and strikes Perfect again with the back of her hand.

Perfect "What?"

While Perfect's stand is broken, red Rainbow bends backward and high kicks Perfect. The kick sends her flying upward and red Rainbow keeps bending backward and lands on her hands. She then pushes herself up into the air with a spin. She then kicks Perfect when the time is right and sent her crashing into Diva, Rock, and Center that was just hit by the yellow Rainbow.

On the other side, Suite Precure ends up fighting one on one against each individual color. Green is fighting Rhythm, blue is fighting Melody, Indigo is fighting Muse, and violet is fighting Beat. They are able to fight against each other neck to neck and cover each other from time to time. Their abundant fighting experience keeps them in the fight. However, It did not last long. Before they knew, they were gathered in one place, surrounded.

When the four of them meet back to back, Melody says "They are tough."

As Melody says that, blue, indigo, and violet surround them and form a triangle. They raise their hand and open their palms towards each other. Then, the gravity inside suddenly becomes heavy. Melody and others could barely stand up.

Rhythm "This is…"

Muse "Heavy…"

Beat then looks up as she notices the green Rainbow is above them. Green rainbow then deploys a giant shield and tries to crush them. She uses all her strength to materialize her guitar.

Beat "Beat Barrier!"

Beat tries to protect everyone but with the gravity working against them, it did not hold. As the shield crushes the four of them, blue, indigo, and violet jump away. Soon after, all seven of them regroup next to Ruen. Ruen also begins to end his song. The Precures look at them while trying to get back up.

Diva "Strong…"

Melody "Yeah…"

Center "I feel like we are the one outnumbered instead."

Beat "That's because we are fighting one person with seven bodies."

Perfect "I see, no wonder there is perfect coordination."

Rock "But even so…"

Muse "We can't give up…"

Rhythm "But what should we do?"

Diva then stands up first "Everyone, I think she is similar to me."

Ruen "Similar? Ah, you mean when you were with us. Sorry but not quite correct. I just planted a seed that allows her to do more with her ability."

Melody stands up next "A seed? So is it different from what happens to Diva?"

Rainbow answers "I believe so. I am the seed and the real Yurina is sleeping within me."

Then all the Precure stands up and looks at each other with a nod.

Ruen frowns "Precure, you girls think you can still win?"

Melody "All we have to do is to remove the seed and it'll be our win."

Rhythm smiles "Right, thank goodness the villains always talk too much."

Perfect "Yeah, now we know our goal, all we have to do is reach it."

Diva "And we will, we definitely will and save Yurina!"

Rainbow readies herself "Fine, then it's time for round two!"
