The Nokk carried Anna and Elsa as close to the dam as it could go. As soon as they reached land, Anna and Elsa leapt off the horse and ran.
The fire Spirit crawled out of Anna's cloak and scurried into the forest.
"Anna! Elsa!" Kristoff called out as he ran to them from the Northuldran encampment.
"Kristoff!" Anna cried out as she threw her arms around him. "Are you okay? How is your arm?" Anna asked as she checked his arm.
"Still hurts but is usable." He said with a small smile.
"Your majesties." Mattias said as he came towards them as well, followed by Yelena and Ryder.
"Mattias, Yelena." Elsa said as she folded her hands in front of her, she was trying to act like a queen. She needed to for what she had to tell them.
"Have you found the truth?" Yelena asked Elsa. Anna stiffened. Kristoff noticed and looked at her worried and then glanced at Elsa who was just as rigged.
"What is it?" Mattias asked, sensing the tension as well.
"We have learned the truth." Elsa said sadly. All eyes were trained on her in anticipation. Anna placed her hand on her sister's shoulder to give her courage. Elsa continued. "The dam is a trap. King Runeard built it to weaken the forest so that he could attack."
"No." Mattias whispered as his arms dropped to his sides.
"As I thought." Yelena said sadly but then she grabbed Elsa's hands. "You came to destroy the dam, am I correct?"
Elsa nodded.
"No! If you do that, then Arendelle will be destroyed!" Mattias shouted.
"It is the price they must pay." Yelena said in an authoritarian voice. "Arendelle can be rebuiled, it is the least they can do for entrapping us here for thirty years." She then turned back to Elsa "You must come and live with us. As Ahtohalla, you belong in the forest."
Elsa stiffened and pulled her hands from Yelena. "I am not Ahtohalla, she only gave me her powers."
A hurt look washed over Yelena's face, and she nodded sadly. "So, she really is gone." Yelena placed a hand on Elsa's shoulder. "She has still blessed you with powers, you must protect the Enchanted Forest."
Elsa shook her head. "No Yelena. My place is where I was born and raised." Elsa moved and walked over to Mattias. "I am the queen of Arendelle and will do whatever it takes to protect my people and lead them in the right direction."
"Does that mean that you are not going to destroy the dam?" Mattias asked her suspiciously. It was Anna who answered him.
"It has to be done." Anna said sadly as she took two steps towards them.
"The Spirits will kill us all if you do that!" Mattias shouted and everyone flinched back. "Arendelle will be defenseless! The Spirits will take out their wrath for losing Ahtohalla on the people!"
"That won't happen." Elsa quickly tried to calm him. "I will protect you all, with my powers."
Mattias glared at her. "The powers you lost?" He asked her coldly.
"What?" Elsa stepped back in surprise.
Kristoff stepped forward. "Olaf has stopped moving."
"Olaf?" Anna asked scared of the truth. "He's gone?"
Kristoff nodded sadly.
Elsa collapsed into herself. She had killed Olaf. She knew it was her fault. Anna immediately moved to comfort her.
"You have no power left to defend Arendelle with." Mattias said. "I know it is cruel and unjust, but I have to protect my people."
"The Spirits will only attack Arendelle if they think they deserve it." Yelena told him in her calm voice. "If nature wants Arendelle to fall, then it shale."
"Nature, what nature wants." Mattias said in frustration. "You always hide behind that excuse. Tell me, was it also natures decision that made your previous chief turn down a man who was trying to save his wife's life?" Mattias turned angerly on Yelena.
"What are you talking about?" Yelena asked coldly, standing her ground. "Arendelle attacked us."
Everyone turned to Mattias in confusion. Except for Anna. She realized that this was what Mattias meant when he said there was one person he could think of who would have started the war.
"Because you and your people's selfish pride refused to help others outside of your own!" Mattias yelled at her. "King Runeard went to you for help! He begged for Ahtohalla, and the previous chief refused to even let him inter the forest!"
"What, is that true?" Elsa asked in shock as she turned her head to Yelena.
"No!" Yelena shouted.
"It is true." Anna said sadly.
All eyes fell on the red head, and she looked up at Yelena.
"My grandfather, king Runeard. He came to ask for Ahtohalla's help when my father was still a child." Anna told her. "The chief was old and had a staff that was like a broken tree branch."
Yelena gasped, knowing who Anna was talking about.
"How do you know this?" She asked Anna. Elsa also was curious.
"Ahtohallan showed me." Anna simply said, she looked at Elsa. Elsa remembered that Anna had climbed out of the glacier.
"How could he." Yelena whispered.
"It doesn't matter." Anna said as she turned to Mattias. "Grandfather killed Ahtohalla and destroyed so many lives. None of the Northuldra deserved what has happened to them. He went too far and now Arendelle has to pay the price."
"He just wanted to see her smile again." Mattias whispered. Yelena placed her hand over her heart.
"I know, but he let his anger consume him." Anna said sadly as she reached out to Mattias.
Mattias became stiff and he made a decision. Pulling out his sword he pointed it at all of them.
"I will not let Arendelle fall." He declared. He shouted and his men came running.
Kristoff ran forward and tackled Mattias to the ground. Yelena yelled and Northuldran soldiers ran forward and started to fight with the Arendellian guard.
"Go!" Kristoff shouted just as Ryder jumped forward to help him pin Mattias.
"Go to the dam!" Anna shouted at Elsa. Elsa nodded to her and dashed in the direction of the dam. Anna ran to Sven and jumped up on him.
"To the river!" Anna instructed Sven. He nodded and dashed away.
Yelena looked from Elsa to Anna, not knowing what to do.
/
Sven dashed across the forest. He jumped over fallen logs and when he came to a cliff he leapt forward and slid down it.
Anna did her best to stay on as she clutched his mane.
They came to the river and Anna leapt off and ran to the edge. There she could see all of the earth Spirits as they slept.
"Wake up!" Anna yelled at them. They didn't move and Anna bent down and lifted up a rock. "I said wake up!" Anna yelled with all her might and threw the rock. It sored through the air but as it was about to hit one of the giants, it stopped.
The giant opened its eyes, and the rock flew away from it.
Anna started to back away before she made a mad dash. The giants all started to get up and lumber after her. Anna ran towards Sven but just as she was about to reach him, a bolder came crashing down, separating them. Anna panicked for a moment before she ran to the left. She didn't see Sven, so she just kept running forward.
The giants moved slow but they were big. It did not take long for them to catch up with Anna. The earth shook as they walked, and Anna flew up in the air. She scrambled to her feet as one of their feet came down on her. She barely made it to her feet when a tree fell from the sky. She was trapped and about to be crushed when Sven ran out of the woods and used his horns to scoop her up. He leapt over the tree and threw Anna on to his back.
"Thanks! Good boy Sven!" Anna scratched his neck and then looked forward. The dam was in site, but so was the Arendellian guard.
Anna jumped off Sven and ran towards them, as they put up their shields against her. The Northuldran and Kristoff as well as Elsa were facing them.
"Lieutenant Mattias." Anna addressed him.
"Princess, I can't let you do this." He said in a panic.
"Arendelle has no future if we don't." Elsa said calmly. She walked up to him as if she was talking to a frightened deer. "Do you want Arendelle to live if that survival is off the blood of thousands of people? We have to do this. We have to make things right."
"I can't do this your majesty. I promised to protect Arendelle." Mattias sounded tortured.
"Then…" Anna spoke but she was quickly interrupted by Yelena.
"Then do it for king Runeard."
Mattias looked at her in shock.
"In your memories, was king Runeard someone who would do this?" Yelena asked Mattias.
Mattias hesitated and bowed his head.
"No." Mattias said in sorrow.
"Then help his granddaughters to fix his mistake." Yelena said gently and surprise washed over Mattias. "Help him rest."
"I…"
"The Northuldra will protect Arendelle." Yelena declared. "We will help you rebuild. Lower your weapons." She said to her warriors, and they hesitantly did.
"Why, would you do that?" Mattias asked in surprise.
Yelena turned to him sadly. "Because I know when I have been in the wrong. I wanted to protect my people, but so are you. We have both been trying our best, but throughout these many years, all I saw you as was an enemy. But you were trapped here as well. You didn't know what happened that day either." Yelena walked forward until she stood right in front of Mattias. "I was only thinking of what happened on that day and wanted the truth, I did not think of how I would move forward after I had learned it. That is why I could not bear the idea that the Northuldran were at fault. Please, will you help me move forward as I will help you?"
Mattias looked into Yelena's eyes and saw that she was being sincere. He lowered his sword and shield sadly. Then a look of determination appeared on his face, and he raised his weapons and started to bang the sword against his shield. He's soldiers started to do the same.
Everyone thought that the Arendelle soldiers would still not give up, but then they felt the ground move. They all looked behind them and saw the earth giants moving to them, enticed by the noise.
Anna dashed past the Arendelle Soldiers and ran onto the bridge.
"Anna!?" Elsa yelled after her.
"Come on! Throw your boulders!" Anna shouted at the earth Spirits.
The Spirits sent trees and boulders flying at them. Mattias dove and saved one of his soldiers. Yelena was ordering everyone to get back to the camp. A boulder was about to crush Kristoff and Ryder, but Elsa managed to grab them and pull them an inch out of danger.
Stones came crashing down towards Anna. They hit the side of the dam and it started to break. Anna ran across the dam in hopes of escaping but a boulder crashed and broke the path in front of her, leaving nothing she could do to go over. She dashed back.
Anna could feel the dam crumbling underneath her as she ran. Everything was falling and just as she was more than halfway across, the path in front of her collapsed. Anna made a desperate leap. Her hands met empty air and she fell. She could just make out Mattias as he tried to grab her.
"Anna!" Elsa yelled as she saw her sister fall.
Suddenly Anna rose up, carried by Gale. Everyone gave a sigh of relief.
Anna glanced down and watched the water break free.
Elsa shivered and all the Spirits shied away from the water.
Water has memories. And the water trapped by the dam was filled with all the sorrow and hate of the last thirty years.
"It's too much." Anna whispered. "It is going to wash away the people on the cliff as well!" Anna shouted at Elsa and both sisters panicked, trying to think of how to slow the water down.
The earth shook as the earth Spirits ran forward and used their bodies as a makeshift dam.
Bruni ran forward and blasted the water with his fire breath, making it evaporate.
A neigh rang out and Anna saw the water Spirit. He nodded to her, indicating that he would help. And finally, Gale whistled in anticipation.
Suddenly, magic shot up into the air and the symbol of the Spirits shone above everyone. The ice wall faded away as the fog also started to dissipate. Everyone could leave the forest now.
Elsa felt something inside of her release. She looked down at her hands and small snowflakes appeared from them. Elsa looked up at her sister.
"Take Gale and the water Spirit! I will help slow the water down with the earth and fire Spirits!" Elsa yelled to her sister. Anna nodded.
"Okay Gale, Nokk, we need to get to Arendelle quick!" She called out to them. Gale dropped her and she landed on Nokk's back. He galloped forward and dove into the water. He created a tunnel so that Anna would not drown, and they speed as fast as they could downstream.
Elsa ran up to the side of the dam and blasted it with ice. She helped the earth Spirits form a dam and Bruni evaporated what he could.
It still was not enough as all of the Spirits had been weakened from the damage to the forest and their fights with Elsa. And Elsa's powers were still coming back to her.
The water broke free. Elsa and Bruni collapsed. Kristoff ran to Elsa and shielded her. Ryder and Yelena ran towards Bruni and gently picked him up. He gave them a small, tired smile.

The people of Arendelle were worried for their queen and princess as they waited on the cliff overlooking their home.
"Look!" Someone shouted and all eyes moved up the fjord as a wall of water came crashing through it. Screams could be heard as the people realized it was coming right for them.
A small figure burst out of the water.
"Gale! Create a wind barrier for the people!" Anna instructed. Gale whistled as a reply and suddenly, a wall of wind and leaves appeared on the cliff side. The people jumped back in fear and started to hold each other.
"Nokk, you have to control as much of the water that you can and swerve it away from them!" Anna said as she leaned forward and held on to the water horse as tightly as she could. He gave a neigh and Anna could feel the power washing out of him. He started to swerve, and the water followed.
"Good boy, we are almost there!" Anna comforted as she patted his side. She could see the castle. All of the water was being curved towards it. As soon as they reached the palace, then most of the water would have passed by and the people would be safe.
"Just a little bit more!" Anna encouraged. The wave took hold of them, and they started to ride it up. Soon Anna and the Nokk were on top.
The wave hit Arendelle and the castle came crashing down just as the village was swept away. The Nokk stumbled forward in exhaustion and Anna fell off.
Both of them went under the water and disappeared.
The water calmed down and the people of Arendelle looked over their ruined Kingdom. All eyes searching for their princess.
Gale quickly left them and swirled around where Anna and Nokk had been.

Authors Notes:
How was that for the destruction of Arendelle.
I have no idea of why it was not destroyed in the movie, and honestly, I don't really care.
My only problem was how corny and fast it all happened. This was the climax to the movie and yet it all felt brushed aside really quick. Anna convinces the guards to help her instantly. The dam brakes and we get a fake Anna almost dies moment. Then when it is going to destroy Arendelle, the music is so over the top dramatic, that it seemed corny. But the real kicker is when Elsa appears, and the music turns into a hero soundtrack. Then Elsa just waves her hand and that is it. The second thing that has been built up all this time and everyone was worried about, is just over.
I wanted to make it a little more exciting, so all of the Spirits are doing their best to help save Arendelle.
I think now is a good time to tell you why I set this story in Spring instead of Fall. I wanted to imply that the forest was dying. If it was fall and all the leaves were gone, then it would not be a big deal. But if it was in a season when the leaves should be growing on the trees and they are all barren, that would imply something is wrong.
