Author's Note

I'm going to walk away from the main story slightly. The plot and main story have been picking up quite fast and there are still quite a few missing Floral Idol spots. For the next few chapters, I will probably be rushing a little bit of it like this one.

The song this time is "→Go Ahead!" by Nanase Matsuoka. The translation this time might be the worst. I could not find the lyrics online so I had to guess the lyrics by the ear and use my limited knowledge. Hopefully, it is at least decently accurate.

Chapter 51: Carnation Floral Idol, Go Ahead!

Within a room, Lily is trying to write up a new song.

Lily sighs "This is not coming together."

Lily looks out of the windows "The weather is good today… Okay, a walk should be nice."

When Lily exits the dorm, she takes a deep breath.

Lily "Alright, time to go!"

Lily then starts strolling around the Four Star Academy's park. Then before she notices, Yuzu runs up to Lily.

Yuzu "Lilienne!"

Yuzu ambushes Lily from behind and hugs her.

Lily "Ahh! Yuzu?"

Yuzu nods "Yep, it's Yuzu! What are you doing? Lilienne?"

Lily smiles "I'm just taking a walk, how about you?"

Yuzu jumps back "I just finished shooting a movie!"

Lily smiles "Oh, is it that racing movie?"

Yuzu smiles and leans forward "Yeah! That was so fun! I get to drive so fast!"

Lily tilts her head a little and asks "How fast did you go? Over 200?"

Yuzu "Hahaha, 200 is nothing. I went over 300! Everything around me just went by so fast! I wish you were there with me!"

Lily makes a wry smile for a moment "300… Haha, that's just like you."

Yuzu "Oh, are you worried about me? Don't worry, there were a lot of safety measures. Even if something were to happen, I'll come out unscattered… probably."

Lily "Probably?"

Lily sighs and continues "Well, at least please stop taking so many jobs that could be dangerous."

Yuzu scratches her head and answers "Hahaha, I'll try. Anyways, have you gotten any ideas for the song?"

Lily's eyes open wide in surprise "Eh? I guess nothing gets past you. To be honest, nothing yet. I tried to write with many ideas but…"

Yuzu smiles and starts walking past Lily while saying "Nothing huh? Then, in that case, let's forget about it!"

Lily "Forget about it… I see, then where are we going?"

Yuzu grabs Lily's hand "I know just the place, let's go!"

Yuzu responds while being pulled "I get it, no need to rush."

Yuzu laughs "Haha, but it has been so long since the last time we hang out. Come on!"

Lily nods "Alright!"

About half an hour later, the two of them reached an amusement park.

Lily "Wait, Yuzu, are you sure it's okay to be here?"

Yuzu "Oh, you are right. Here!"

Yuzu puts a hat on Lily and herself.

Lily "Eh? This is…"

Yuzu answers "The park's theme hat! Anyways, let's go!"

The first stop they reach has bumper car racing.

Lily asks "Wait, Yuzu…"

Yuzu "Ah, maybe this is too much? Sorry, I just wanted to race with Lilienne."

Lily smiles after a short pause from the surprise "No, it's okay. Let's do it! But just letting you know, I'll be the one winning!"

Yuzu "Hehe, now you said it! Let's race!"

Lily and Yuzu then enter and start racing. The two of them overtake everyone else and competes against each other closely. In the end, Yuzu wins by a split second. However, that also earns them a good scolding from the operating staff for a good minute.

Yuzu "Hahaha, we end up getting scolded."

Lily nods "Yeah, but that was indeed fun."

Yuzu "Now then, what should we do next?"

Lily looks around and sees an ice cream store "Why don't we take a short break?"

Yuzu looks at it and cheers "Alright! Then let's grab some ice!"

Lily secure their seat as Yuzu runs to buy their ice cream. When Yuzu comes back, she is carrying two castles of ice creams.

Lily "Isn't that a little too much?"

Yuzu "The nice lady gave us extra, but I'll finish it for you if you can't finish it"

Lily "But this is…"

Lily stares at the castle of ice scream that is bigger than her body.

She thinks to herself "If Yuzu ends up eating some of my portions… No, I'll finish this myself!"

Lily then declares "No, it's nothing. I can finish this!"

Yuzu smiles "Then let's dig in!"

Yuzu and Lily then says "Itadakimasu!"

As they are eating, a crowd begins to form. Somewhere along the line, Yuzu and Lily start competing against each other. After only 15 minutes, both of them are reaching their last scoop.

Someone in the audience "Amazing, they are finishing them."

Another person "But they are Yuzutto Lilie right? Why are they here?"

The previous person "Oh, a surprise live performance? That would be amazing!"

While the crowd is discussing, they are finishing their last bite.

When they finish, Yuzu looks at Lily "Lilienne… Amazing!"

Lily, however, is struggling and looks like she could throw up "Ah… I'm glad we finished…"

Yuzu then jumps off her seat and waves at the crowd "Hello everyone! Sorry, but we are just taking a break and brainstorming for our new song! However…"

Yuzu looks at Lily and Lily nods.

Yuzu then looks at everyone "We'll see if we can do a surprise performance for everyone. Until then, let's all enjoy ourselves in this amusement park!"

The crowd cheers and agrees. The two of them, however, were called by the administrator not long after.

Admin "Sorry for calling you two all of the sudden."

Yuzu "It's fine, it's fine!"

Lily smiles "That's right. Rather, we should be the ones apologizing. After all, we suddenly said all that to the crowd."

Admin laughs for a moment "No no, that's fine. After all, just having the two of you coming to our park is amazing. We have an open time slot for a short performance in about an hour. I know this is really sudden, but how about it?"

Lily "An hour?"

Yuzu then shouts "Of course we'll do it!"

Lily then looks at Yuzu "Wait, how about the song and dress?"

Yuzu looks at Lily "It'll be okay. We can just sing our usual song. You got your cards with you right?"

Lily nods and Yuzu immediately continues "Then let's just go for it! Don't worry about it too much, it is a surprise performance after all!"

Lily looks at Yuzu while mutters "Just go for it… surprise performance…"

Yuzu then asks "Lilienne?"

Lily smiles "No it's nothing. Let's do it, it's all or nothing!"

Yuzu "Yep!"

Afterward, the two of them stand on the stage and perform together.

As soon as their performance ended, Lily picks up all her stuff.

Lily then tells Yuzu "Yuzu, I think I know what I want to do for my new song. I'll be heading back first!"

Yuzu nods and waves "Okay, good luck Lilienne!"

As Lily is running back, she got caught in Ruen's eye.

Ruen "That girl… She might be worthy."

Ruen takes out the eggs in his hand "I have two more… Maybe I'll test her first."

Ruen puts them away and smiles. When he is about to teleport away, Yuzu pops up in front of him.

Yuzu asks "What are you trying to do to Lilienne?"

Ruen jumps back "Uwaa, how did you…"

Yuzu "I'll let you know, if you want to do anything to Lilienne, you'll have to go through me first!"

Ruen "Why must I go through you first?"

Yuzu puts her hands on her hips "Because Lilienne is mine! I don't care if you are also an idol, I won't let anyone suspicious near my Lilienne without a fight!"

Ruen smiles "If you want a fight, fine. You will not win!"

Yuzu "Hahaha, depends on what kind of fight. But if it's dancing, I'm confident that you'll never outlast me!"

Ruen's eye twitches with anger and responds "Fine since you dare to challenge me, we'll dance! My pride as the true top idol in my world will not let this one go!"

Yuzu nods "Then let's start!"

Yuzu plays music on her phone and she starts dancing.

Ruen "Doing it here in the open, you are something else! However, I won't lose here in public!"

Ruen then joins in and starts dancing with Yuzu.

Late at night, Lily finally finished her new song.

Lily "These lyrics, quite different from my usual song. However, I can't think of a better lyric right now. Maybe I should show Yuzu this."

Lily smiles as she walks to Yuzu's room. She knocks on her door, but no answer.

Lily questions "Is Yuzu asleep? I guess I'll just send it to her."

When Lily returns to her room and is about to send her new lyrics, she notices Yuzu's page is getting many new posts and comments. She starts looking at it.

Lily then reads out one post out loud "Yuzu's street dance battle, still going on after 7 hours?"

Lily then clicks on the link that takes her to a public stream. It shows Yuzu is having a dance battle against Ruen.

Lily mutters "Yuzu… What are you doing?"

After a moment, Lily then looks at her table "I guess I'll finish working on my dress."

Lily then sits down and starts designing to keep Yuzu's dance battle playing on the side.

While working, Lily says "There is no way I'm going to let Yuzu pull that much ahead of me. Not after I finally caught up to her."

While the battle is ongoing, Lily plans to keep going until it is over. However, Lily never expect it to reach past midnight and she falls asleep not too long after. When Lily wakes up, the stream is over and the fight ended after 12 hours. The result of the fight ends up in a tie as both of them stopped at the same time.

Lily "Yuzu!"

Lily rushes out of her room and bangs on Yuzu's door. However, as there is no answer, she opens the door with a spare key Yuzu gave her and enters. She sees Yuzu sleeping on her bed, completely wasted.

Lily breathed a sigh of relief "Seriously, you are too reckless this time. Just what makes you fight for so long?"

Lily walks over and brushes Yuzu's messed-up hair with her fingers. This action, however, wakes up Yuzu.

Yuzu rubs her eyes as she questions "Lilienne?"

Lily "Sorry, I didn't mean you wake you up?"

Yuzu smiles with a laugh "Hahaha, it's fine. Seeing Lilienne energizes me. By the way, how did it go?"

Lily answers with joy "I'm done! This is the lyric and the song is…"

Yuzu looks away and pushes Lily's work away "No! I'm going to be spoiled of the surprise!"

Lily is surprised but then nods "Okay, then I'll surprise you with everything I have!"

Yuzu looks back at Lily "Yep! Also, I'm almost done with my preparation too! Why don't we have a back-to-back Floral Challenge together!"

Lily leans forward "I like that! Let's do it and do our best, Yuzu!"

Yuzu makes a big smile "Yey!"

A week later, both LIly and Yuzu are ready for their challenge. Both of them are in the changing room.

Yuzu "Lilienne, good luck! Make sure you become a Floral Idol!"

Lily nods "Yes, with this ultimate chance, I will not let it slip out of my hand."

Yuzu "I'll be right behind you! Let's do it together!"

Lily smiles and looks at the changing device "Yes! With a grand possibility, I will imprint my soul into this surprise!"

Lily runs forward and changes into a dark blue dress with purple trim. She stands on the stage for a bit and then starts dancing as the music starts.

Lily then sings "With unusual Journey Rules, I'll go. What are we going to see? I know what I want in summer."

Lily's aura then comes into full bloom as she keeps performing.

Lily "I can't help it, the longer I'm here, the more I suffer. It's no use, I've spent my whole life doing this. I'm gonna reach my dream!"

Lily then jumps forwards and the whole stage and the surrounding becomes an open field of a large garden. Everyone's point of view is now able to see Lily from a slightly elevated angle.

Lily continues on "I've found my path, and it's meaningless. It's not my fault that I'm too hard on myself. At some point, I'll be covered in thorns and I'll be soaking them up. In the midst of nothing, I've forgotten everything. I'm not sure what to do…"

After that, she immediately starts her Special Appeal. Lily's surrounding flowers begin to have the petals flying around and become a storm. Then within the storm, Lily snaps her finger and a bright light shines from it. Then the background changes into a dark space with glittering petal-like objects floating down while spinning. Lily also appears in the center with a welcoming pose.

Lily then proceed with her Swift Appeal. Lily raises her right hand and all of the petals floating down starts gathering in her hand. Then she swings her hand and spins around. Then with an explosive effect, she reveals herself with a dress that now has purple and blue colors mostly switched. Lily's dress also now has a purple carnation flower petal under the dresses' shoulder and skirt. Her aura now also has the carnation petals and Lily continues her song and performance.
