Author's Note

It took me a long time to write, sorry about the wait. Real-life stuff getting in the way and still have to find a new home to move into. This chapter hasn't been reviewed as much as I liked, but I think it's at least nice.

The song this time for Rola is a bit off the usual due to all of Fujishiro Rie's songs except Iolite disappeared from the internet. So I decided to pick an artist that I remember she looked up to and pick a song from there. I think it worked out quite nicely. The song is Lovely Fruit by Mizuki Nana.

Chapter 53: New Challenge, Yume vs Rola

Early in the morning, Yume and Rola are jogging in the field.

Yume and Rola "Aikatsu, Aikatsu, Aikatsu…"

Rola then asks "Yume, how is your preparation?"

Yume looks at Rola "Going perfect! I already got a little bit of experience in this during that time, so I think it's actually cheating for us to do this but…"

Rola looks back at Yume with a smile "Stop! Let's not talk about that. It's not like I have no experience singing songs out of my character anyways. Besides, I think this will be the best challenge for us."

Yume then slowly stops and looks up into the sky "Yeah, but this also means…"

Rola stops and looks at Yume a little confused "What?"

Yume shakes her hand "No no, it's nothing. It's just when we talk to headmaster Moroboshi, I felt really bad and I wonder what he is going to do."

The two then think back to what happens when they meet with Moroboshi.

In Moroboshi's room, he looks like he is having the worst headache and asks "Why? I wasn't expecting this to happen. I know I let S4 have the power to do most things, but this is…"

Yume "Ah hahaha, sorry. I know I have caused a lot of trouble. I didn't want to do this but…"

Rola looks at Yume "I can't just take this position in the S4 forever. Besides, I think this is a great chance for us to settle who is better."

Yume "That's true but…"

Yume takes a glance at Moroboshi and he sighs.

Moroboshi "Alright, I'll let this one go. Seeing how hyped up everyone is, we can't possibly call it off now. However, the position of the S4 isn't something to be tossed around, especially for the leader position."

Yume "Ah…"

Rola thinks and says "Right, but isn't like we can make any major changes now…"

Yume "Major changes? Like with S4?"

Moroboshi "Hmm? A major change with S4… Hehehe, Ah hahahah!"

Rola and Yume look at Moroboshi with a bit of fear.

Moroboshi then says "Don't worry about it, I think I know what I want to do. You two should just do your best and make sure you make it the most exciting stage ever."

Yume and Rola look at each other and smile.

Yume "Of course we will."

Rola "That's one of our goals in the first place."

Yume nods "Yep!"

Moroboshi smiles and pushes his glasses up "Alright, then I'll be expecting the greatest stage from the both of you."

Yume and Rola "Yes!"

Yume faces Rola "I still wonder what the headmaster has in mind."

Rola "Right…"

The two of them then sees Hibiki and Kanade also running on the same field. They wave at them and the two wave back. They wait until they reach them and start running together.

Hibiki "Wow, you two still train together?"

Yume smiles "Yep!"

Kanade "But the battle is soon. Will everything be alright?"

Rola answers "Of course, we already got pretty much all the preparation done."

Yume nods "Yeah, this is just our daily routine."

Hibiki "Oh, even though you two are so busy. You still find time to train?"

Kanade "Yeah, we know training is important but…"

Yume "Don't worry, we are fine. We got half of our rest during our travels."

Rola "Yep! And sometimes when we are waiting as well."

Hibiki "Wait, so you two barely slept on the bed?"

Yume makes a wry smile "When it gets very busy, yeah."

Kanade "Hee, that sounds rough. But you two should really sleep in a bed as much as you can."

Rola "Anyways, I see you two are training hard."

Hibiki "Of course! But well… to be honest, I'm kind of stuck."

Kanade "Right, you just couldn't find anything for the Floral challenge."

Yume nods and looks at Rola as she says "Then…"

Rola smiles as she looks at Yume for a moment before looking back at Hibiki "Then we hope our performances will help you."

Hibiki nod "Right, I hope it'll help."

Yume shakes her head "No, I'm sure it will."

She smiles as she continues "It'll be the best and motivating live for sure!"

Kanade "That sounds promising."

Hibiki "Right, then I'll make sure to burn it into my memory!"

Rola "You bet!"

Hibiki "Alright, time for another round!"

Hibiki then runs off as Kanade chases while saying "Hibiki! Seriously, don't run off all of the sudden!"

Rola "Well then, we can't let her down now."

Yume nos "Yep! But I sure we won't!"

They look at each other and then Yume says "Okay, let's keep up with our training until the last moment!"

Rola "Yeah, and I won't lose!"

They nod to each other and start running at the same time.

On the day of their contest, the stage is the biggest one and the host is three other Four Star members: Mahiru, Ako, and Ruka. They walk onto the stage and introduces themselves.

Mahiru "Hello, I'm Mahiru!"

Ako nods "And I'm Ako!"

Ruka jumps and says "And I'm Ruka!"

Ako "Today, we'll be the host!"

Mahiru "Right and today is the long-awaited battle for Rola and Yume!"

Ruka "Yeah yeah! This will be so exciting!"

Ako "I wonder who will win this time?"

Mahiru nods "Yeah, last time Rola wins, but barely. However…"

Ruka "We don't know what will happen this time! Hey hey, let's get the show going!"

Mahiru "Hahaha, Ruka can't wait anymore."

Ako sighs and shakes her head "Really? There is so much to talk about but…"

Ruka "Everyone wants to see them!"

Ako "Well, I can't deny that."

Mahiru "Yeah, even I am very excited to see their performance today."

Ako smiles "Then without further adieu, let's invited the two of them onto the stage!"

Yume and Rola start walking onto the stage and the audience bursts out with cheers. The two of them wave at their fans as they walk towards the center of the stage.

Mahiru "Yume, Rola, it's finally the time isn't it?"

Yume nods "Yep! And I'm so excited that I can't wait to perform!"

Ako sighs "You are always like this, but I guess that's who you are. Rola, how about you?"

Rola looks at Yume for a moment before answering "Just as excited and I can't wait to show our fan what we came up with!"

Ruka "Then hurry up! Here is the drawing box!"

The stage opens up a hole and a box rises up. Yume and Rola walk to the box and reaches their hands in. After both of them grab a ball that's inside, they look at each other. Both of them pull out the ball at the same time with Yume's ball with 2 and Rola's ball with 1 on it.

Ako "And it is decided! The first one up will be Rola!"

Rola faces Yume "Yume, I'll be going on first then."

Yume smiles at Rola "Do your best, Rola. I'll be up there right after you!"

Rola "I will! Then off I go!"

Rola waves then turn around and run off the stage.

In the changing room, Rola holds onto her new dress cards. It is an orange-red dress in a form of a cute and easy-to-move-in short dress. It also has a long scarf and gloves.

Rola smiles with confidence "This Cutie Service Coord, it really isn't my style. However, this is definitely going to be fun. Together with my new song, Lovely Fruit!"

Rola readies herself and looks forward "Sakuraba Rola, making a new stage!"

Rola then changes into her dress and enters the stage. The music begins to play as the stage transform into a wonderland of fruits and candy.

Rola then sings "I will take this lovely fruit!"

Rola then releases her aura at full bloom and dances on top of a cupcake.

After a while, Rola sings again "Wearing a dress unlike me, with heels that make me taller. Putting on a bored face, my date plan is 100% OK!"

Rola strikes a pose and several cupcakes show up around the stage. Then different colored silhouettes of Rola pop up and dance on top as well.

Rola continues "I want to try making a scoop out of your true face all day. I don't want to call this love; it'll feel like I've somehow lost."

Rola rises up and continues to dance as she circles around the stage.

Rola "I want to jump ahead—this is probably a lovely, lovely chance growing! Flying to your mouth with a pyun, so listen to what I say and eat, okay "

Rola's aura then changes slightly. It now has colorful small heart candy around her.

Rola "I will take all of your whole heart, darlin', darlin' If I'm on your knees then ah, it might be good to be honest. I can even give you the world's best love!"

Rola spins around and starts floating towards the center as she sings "I will take these lovely fruits!"

Rola then disappears into the cupcake before the cupcake starts beating. With each beat, it grow in size and when it explodes, the whole stadium transforms into a fruit candy wonderland. Rola points in several directions and each time shoots out a stream and heart-shaped candies. Rola then makes a large one and strikes a pose while on it.

Afterward, Rola continues her performance with everyone surprised with her special appeal.

At backstage, Mahiru, Ako, Ruka, and Yume are watching Rola's performance. With Hibiki, Kanade, Ellen, and their little Ako behind them.

S4 Ako "Wha… What is that!"

Mahiru "A special appeal that stretches beyond the stage."

Ruka "Amazing! Ruka wants to do that too!"

Yume "Rola, you really are amazing."

Ellen then asks "Yume, you don't know?"

Yume shakes her head "Well, I do know Rola is training for a new appeal but not that."

Hibiki asks "Then do you have something special?"

Kanade then says "I'm sure Yume has something."

Yume thinks for a moment and looks at them with a wry smile "Nope. Though I am interested in that appeal right now."

Both Ako "Yume…"

Yume "Hahaha, yeah. But that appeal that covers the whole stage…"

Mahiru "But that appeal, I'm really curious too."

Yume then gets a message and she reads it out loud "Oh, from Rola. Yume, what do you think about my new appeal? After discussing with Hime and Elza, we are going to call it the Premium Appeal. It'll be your turn soon, good luck, Yume."

Hibiki "Uwaa, that almost sounds like Rola is giving you a second challenge."

Ruka "Wow, you two are making it hard on each other."

Yume nods "Yep and that is why Rola is my best rival. Alright, I think I'll go prepare. I'm off!"

Everyone cheers on Yume as she runs off to prepare for her performance.

When Rola's stage ends, she walks off the stage. The girls meet up with her and congratulate her.

Mahiru "Rola, good job! You created another special appeal."

Ako "Seriously, you and Yume just keep pulling surprises. I'm worried for the future idols."

Ruka "Don't worry don't worry, it'll be okay."

Hibiki nods "Yep, I'm sure it'll work out."

Both Ako and Kanade look at Ruka and Hibiki then sighs.

Ellen makes a dry laugh then asks Rola "How long did you prepare for Premium Appeal?"

Rola "A long time ago, but when the new Aikatsu System came out, it got changed. Since then, I have been trying to maximize the usage of the new system."

S4 Ako "And that's Premium Appeal. Alright, we should go explain everything."

Mahiru and Ruka nod and the three of them run onto the stage again.
