Poor Sakura. What will she do when Sasuke's gone. Well, read to find out.

Just If She Had Known

Sakura stood, staring out into the night sky. Not a cloud could be seen, only star after beautiful star. She looked down on the city below her, lights shon there too.Even though it was a warm summer night, she shivered all over. She rubbed her arms with her hands, letting the memories flow in.

She came up to Sasuke on the bridge. He leaned against the railing as he usually did. Like usual, she greeted him. "Hey Sasuke!" Not like usually, he replied… with words. "Hey Sakura." She smiled wildly. 'There's hope for you yet Sasuke-kun… there's hope for you yet.'

Sakura lay in a hospital bed. The mission, just a blur to her now. She awoke from her deep sleep, pain rushing down her arm. She winced, but stayed quiet. Suddenly, she realized something was on the counter beside her bed. She leaned over, even though the pain was unbearable, and she grabbed it. There, in her hands, was a small teddy bear. A red card was attached to the bear's hand. It read 'Get better soon Sakura.' A smile crossed her badly scratched face as she recalled the handwriting. She just sighed, hugging the bear. "Thanks Sasuke…"

Sakura sat on a bench in the park. She had been working crazily on her homework, and she needed a break. Suddenly, she saw Sasuke, walking toward her. She quickly sat up. "Hey Sasuke." He nodded, then spoke. "Can I sit here?" Sakura just nodded, moving her pile of books. They sat in silence. Suddenly, Sasuke turned, about to ask Sakura a question, but he was interrupted. She quickly pressed her lips to his, hoping he wouldn't pull away. To her surprise, he did more then that, he kissed back. After a few moments, they pulled apart, both blushing like mad. "Umm… could I barrow your notes?" Sakura smiled, handing a pile of papers over to him. "I…" Sakura quickly got up. "See you tomorrow!" she called, cutting him off. She then walked home, smiling like there was no tomorrow.

"Please Sasuke… don't go." Sakura stood, staring at Sasuke, a bag over his shoulder. He stood still. Suddenly, she felt a blast of wind as he disappeared. "Sakura…" She gasped. He stood right behind her, so close that she could feel his warm breath against her neck. "Thank you." Suddenly, all went black. She woke up on the park bench, her checks stained with tears. "S-Sasuke…"

Tears began rushing down her face. She couldn't take it. It had been 3 years, and he still hadn't returned. Most had given up on him after the first year, but not her. She kept praying… kept hoping… She had never let go of him, or her feelings for him. She had loved him then, and still she loved him now. But, he wasn't coming back, and she knew it. She took a deep breath. And then a single step forward.

Little did she know, a few miles away, Sasuke Uchiha was smiling. 'I'm coming back Sakura. I'm coming home.'

Just if she had known. Maybe she wouldn't have taken that breath, maybe she wouldn't have taken that step, maybe, just maybe, she wouldn't have taken her life…

Dun dun DUN! Poor Sakrua... a jumper. Who would have guessed! And god, bad timing! Did you cry? Yes, yes you did. Don't lie. Anyway, review, or Sasuke might have to jump himself... and yes, that's a threat.
