Jack rolled over, finding Elizabeth's side of the bed empty. "Beth?" he whispered. "Elizabeth?"

He stood, pulling a pair of pants over his boxers and padding through the house. The bathroom was empty, as were all the unused bedrooms. He made his way down the stairs, still unable to find her. Finally, he noticed that the back door was ajar, and he found Elizabeth sitting at the outdoor table, a blanket wrapped around her shoulders.

"Sweetheart?"

She looked over at him, an easy smile coming over her face. "Hi."

"It's the middle of the night. What are you doing outside?"

She shrugged. "I couldn't sleep."

He sat across from her. "Is everything okay?"

"Yep." She nodded. "I just couldn't sleep, and I thought I'd come out and look at the stars."

"Well, it's freezing out here." He wrapped his arms around himself, shivering. "Why don't you come back inside? If you still can't sleep, I have some ideas of things we can do that don't involve sleeping." He raised an eyebrow, giving her a hopeful look.

"Jack Thornton. Is that all you think about?"

"Of course not, but this is our honeymoon. But Elizabeth, we don't have to…"

She took his hand, pulling him back toward the house. "I never said I didn't want to."

He chuckled, closing the door behind them. He pressed her against the wall, touching his lips to hers. "Elizabeth," he whispered. "God, I love you."

"I love you." She wrapped her arms around his neck, stretching her body against his. "Let's go to bed."

"Let's," he agreed, lifting her into his arms and carrying her upstairs.

...

The next morning, Jack woke before Elizabeth. She was curled against him, her hair splayed over his chest. He smiled, pulling the blanket up to cover them both from the chill in the air.

"Beautiful," he whispered, trailing his fingers across her face.

He said a prayer of thanks, thanks that he had found love not once but twice, thanks that Elizabeth was exactly the person he and Harrison needed in their lives, thanks that they could spend time together in such a beautiful place.

She shifted but didn't wake, her hand coming to rest over his heart. He slipped his arms around her, holding her against him. "I love you, Beth."

He watched her for a while longer, eventually dozing off once more.

When he woke again, he found her blue eyes staring up at him.

"Hey, handsome." She pressed her lips to his chest, making her way up to his lips. "How'd you sleep?"

"Well, despite somebody's insomnia leading to a very welcome interruption to my beauty sleep," he grinned at the blush that rose in her cheeks, "I feel pretty well-rested. How about you? Are you sure there wasn't a reason you woke up last night?"

"I'm sure. It's not uncommon for me to wake up in the middle of the night, and I just didn't want to wake you up by staying in bed, tossing and turning."

"Okay." He kissed her softly. "I love you."

"I love you, too." She lay back on his chest. "What are we doing for our last day here?"

"Well, I thought that maybe we could ask Mrs. Gowen if she has any recommendations on where to shop for souvenirs."

"Oh, that's right. We still haven't gotten anything for Harrison." She rolled onto her back, putting her hands behind her head. "It's too bad we can't just tell him we got him a baby brother."

Jack chuckled. "You still think it's unlikely that you got pregnant this week?"

"Yeah." She nodded, turning to look at him. "It won't be the right time in my cycle for another two weeks or so."

"I guess we'll just have to keep trying. Darn it," he joked, giving her a dimpled grin.

"It's a real shame we don't have any fun with all the practicing," she teased back.

He put a hand on her stomach, allowing his thoughts to drift to a day when she might be carrying their baby.

"Jack." She squirmed.

"What?"

"I'm not pregnant yet."

"I know." He smiled. "But you could be soon, and I'm just thinking about what that will be like."

She placed her hand on top of his. "It's crazy. Six months ago, we were just getting to know each other again. Now, we're married and talking about having a baby."

"And six months from now, there could actually be a little baby growing in there." He moved down in the bed to kiss her stomach, pushing up her shirt to touch her bare skin.

"Hopefully."

Her phone buzzed on the nightstand, interrupting them.

Jack rolled away. "Who's calling you? It's the middle of the night back home."

"It's your mom." She turned her phone to him, her eyes wide. "What if something's wrong with Harrison?"

He sat up quickly. "Answer it."

"Charlotte?"

"Mommy?" Harrison's little voice came over the phone.

"Harrison? What's going on? Are you okay?" She wrapped an arm around herself, nerves rising. "Where's Nana?"

"Sleeping."

"Why aren't you sleeping?" She turned the phone on speaker when Jack leaned in to try to hear.

"I miss you and daddy." He sniffled. "Come home."

"Harrison," Jack took the phone, "we'll be home soon. Just one more day, and then we'll be home tomorrow. And you and Nana are going to come pick us up at the airport."

"I want you home now."

"I know you miss us, bud. We miss you, too, so much. But we can't just pack up and leave. Our plane tickets are for tomorrow."

"Please, daddy?"

"Harrison." He sighed. "You just have to be patient."

"You know what, Harrison? If you go to bed now, when you wake up, you'll be a lot closer to us being home."

"Okay, mommy."

"Would it help if we told you a bedtime story until you fall asleep?"

The smiled was evident in his voice. "Yes, please."

...

Elizabeth took a seat at the kitchen table, watching Abigail move about the room. "So how did you end up here?"

Abigail handed her a cup of tea and set a plate of scones on the table. "The short answer is: love." She chuckled. "My brother and Henry used to work for the same company, and when Henry came to the States for a business trip, we took him to dinner. He was gruff and a little arrogant, but I knew there was a kind soul underneath all of that." She took a sip of her tea. "When my brother came over here for business, I convinced him to bring me with him. I never really left after that, other than a few return trips to pack up my things."

"That's so sweet."

"How did you and your husband meet?"

"We actually met in high school. He was a senior and I was one of many freshmen girls who were totally in love with him," she joked. "But we lost touch when he graduated and moved away. He came back after he lost his first wife and started working with my brother-in-law. They invited him to dinner one night when I was over there, and we started dating a few weeks later."

"And now you're married." Abigail smiled. "I know it's not my business, but are you two planning on having any kids?"

"Yes. We already have a little boy—Jack's son from his first marriage—but we definitely want more."

"Do you have any pictures of your son?"

Elizabeth pulled out her phone. "Too many, probably." She laughed, finding a picture of Harrison that Charlotte had sent to her a few days prior. "His name is Harrison. He's four and a half."

"He's a cutie," Abigail said, looking at the photo. "Henry and I never had children of our own, but we adopted his niece and nephew a few years ago. Becky is fifteen, and Cody's twelve."

"Sorry for interrupting." Abigail's husband, Henry, came into the kitchen. "I'm taking Becky and Cody to school."

"Okay."

Henry gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving. Abigail blushed when she remembered Elizabeth was in the room.

"Sorry about that."

"Don't be. I think it's sweet. How long have you two been married?"

"Fifteen years."

Elizabeth rested her chin in her hand. "I hope Jack and I are still so in love after fifteen years."

"I'll let you in on a little secret. It's hard work. You aren't going to get along all the time, and with kids in the mix, it can be difficult to find time for each other. But prioritizing time for yourselves is well worth it."

"Thank you, Abigail. And thank you for breakfast, and for being such a great hostess this week."

"You're welcome." She set her cup in the sink. "I should let you get back to that husband of yours."

"Right. Need to get the last of our souvenir shopping done."

...

Elizabeth zipped up her suitcase, glancing over at Jack. "I can't believe our honeymoon is over."

"Just because our time in Ireland is up doesn't mean the honeymoon is over." He wiggled his eyebrows.

She laughed. "That's true. Especially since we still need to make a baby brother for Harrison."

He grinned. "I can't wait to see that kid."

She wheeled her suitcase to the door. "I still feel bad that he was missing us so much."

"He's just never been away from both of us for this long before. He's fine." He put his hands on her arms. "And I think you living with us now will make up for that."

She smiled, leaning up to press a kiss to his lips. "I can't wait to be there all the time. I hope you two don't get tired of me."

"Never." He kissed the tip of her nose. "I'll get our suitcases loaded in the car if you want to say goodbye to Abigail."

"Thank you." She patted his cheek. "You're the best."

Fifteen minutes later, after saying their goodbyes to their hosts, they were on the road, headed toward the airport in Dublin.

"This has been such a great week." Elizabeth looked over at Jack, reaching for his hand. "What was your favorite part? Outside of the bedroom."

He chuckled. "I mean, there was the one time in the bathroom."

She rolled her eyes. "Seriously, Jack."

He cleared his throat. "In all seriousness, I just liked getting to spend time with you, not worrying about work or anyone else. Everywhere we went was beautiful, and it just made it so much better getting to experience it with you."

"Sweet talker." She squeezed his hand.

"What was your favorite part?"

"The Cliffs of Moher were amazing, but so was Giant's Causeway. I can't decide between those two."

"Those were both very cool. And I agree that we should bring Harrison to visit sometime. We'll need to get him a passport, though."

"We'll have to stay at the same place, too."

"You and Mrs. Gowen really hit it off, huh?"

She nodded. "I already added her on Facebook so we can keep in touch."

"Of course you did." He smiled. "I love you."

...

Jack nudged Elizabeth as the plane was about to touch down on the runway. "Beth, we're here."

Elizabeth yawned, stretching as she woke fully. "I'm exhausted."

"So am I, but we'd better get over it quick, because you know Harrison is going to be a bundle of energy."

"Probably." She leaned her head on his shoulder, trying to keep her eyes from slipping shut again while they waited for the plane to come to a stop at their gate.

They were quiet as they retrieved their carry-on bags and as they followed the crowds toward the baggage claim area, just reflecting on the week and looking forward to being reunited with their little boy. Charlotte had sent a text to Jack shortly before they had landed, letting him know that she and Harrison were already there and waiting.

The little boy caught sight of them first, squealing in excitement. "Mommy! Daddy!" He ran toward them, dodging people along the way.

"Hey, buddy." Jack swung him up into his arms. "We missed you."

"I missed you." He wrapped his arms around Jack's neck. "We go home now?"

"We need to get our suitcases, and then we'll go home."

"Okay."

Elizabeth slipped her arm through Charlotte's, the two of them walking a few steps behind Jack and Harrison. "I hope he wasn't too much trouble."

"Oh, I'm happy to watch him whenever you need me to. We have a great time together. He sure missed you two, though."

She sighed. "I know. It was nice getting so much time with just me and Jack, but I did feel a little bad that we were away from Harrison for so long."

"Well, you're back now." She patted Elizabeth's hand.

"Thank you for coming to pick us up, by the way."

"I don't think Harrison would've allowed me not to." She chuckled. "All day, it was, 'are we getting mommy and daddy now?'"

"Mommy!" Harrison called out, turning in Jack's arms. "Simba got so big!"

"Oh, really? I think you got bigger, too."

He giggled. "No, I didn't."

"I think you did," Jack groaned, pretending to struggle under his weight. "I can barely carry you now."

"You're silly, daddy."

...

An hour later, after thanking Charlotte a few more times, Jack and Elizabeth were back home with Harrison, the three of them snuggled up together in the bed.

"Mommy?" Harrison leaned back against her, clutching his new stuffed sheep that they had gifted him. "Can I sleep in here?"

She closed the book she had just finished reading to him and set it on her nightstand. "I don't know, Harrison."

He stuck out his bottom lip, his eyes wide and pleading. "Pleeeease?"

She looked over at Jack, a question in her eyes.

"One night won't hurt," he offered. "And I don't know about you, but I'm too tired for anything but sleep tonight."

She gave him a grateful smile. "Okay. Just for tonight, Harrison." She tickled him under his chin.

"I'll be right back." Jack got up, disappearing into the bathroom.

By the time he returned a few minutes later, Elizabeth had fallen asleep, Harrison cuddled up in her arms.

"Shh." Harrison put a finger to his lips. "Mommy's sleeping."

"I see that," Jack whispered. He lay down on the other side of the bed, smiling when Harrison snuggled closer to Elizabeth.

The exhaustion of the day finally caught up with him, and he quietly told his wife and son he loved them before sleep overtook him.
