*This is the story of when Leah first met her friends Zen and Kijakazi. It also tells of the love between Kijakazi and Leah. In the beginning, Leah was forced into marrying Kavu. This marriage would happen in the future since Leah's family and Kavu's family had been sworn enemies for more than 20 years. They thought that if Leah married Kavu, the feud would be over. But Leah never liked Kavu, who was a vain and selfish Eurasian Lynx. He was intrigued by the idea of the marriage. And apart from him, Leah WASN'T. She was shocked when she found out from her two aunts, her mom's older sisters*

Leah: They CAN'T do this to me! I can't believe it! I don't wanna be stuck with him! *Sighs as she sits down and looks at the floor* If Dad never left, he'd help me forget about this.

*Leah's father had once left her to help fight against enemies far, far away. That was when Leah was at 10 years old. She wanted to run to him, but her aunts pulled her away and forbid her to see him again. This broke Leah's heart, especially for her mother. Leah and her mom both missed him very much since his departure*

?: Leah?

Leah: Come in, Mom. *Her mom walks into her den* I'm in here.

Leah's mom: Hi, sweetheart. I just wanted to check on you. *Sits next to her* I know this is hard, but this is what your aunts want you to do. They only want the best for you.

Leah: Yeah, I know. But I can't stand it when Kavu's around. I don't wanna marry him in the future. I mean, who does he think he is? He's got so much self-esteem, he's vain and always a real pain in the tail. I'd rather have someone else.

Leah's mom: I understand that, Leah. But my sisters wouldn't be very happy if you say that. We've had this feud with Kavu's family for decades. Your aunts, their husbands and your uncles want what's best for us.

Leah: But this CAN'T be the answer! *Tears begin to roll down her face* (Voice breaking) I found out what they were talking about... And... *Wipes her tears away as she tries to be strong* Look, I-I-I don't wanna do that. Could you leave me alone, please?

Leah's mom: Of course, my dear. *Gives her a kiss on the cheek before walking out of the den* I'll give you some time alone.

Leah's aunt 1: (Concerned) How's Leah?

Leah's mom: She needs some time to consider. Just let her be.

Leah's aunt 2: Oh,she needs to make up her mind. Or this could go on forever. When will she say yes? Why won't she hang out with Kavu? What's taking so long?

Leah's mom: Why so many questions? As far as I can see, I've already talked to Leah. She needs her alone time.

Leah's aunt 1:Alone? It would be better if she has company.

Leah's mom: No, no. That won't be necessary, ladies.

?: What won't be necessary? *We see a male Eurasian Lynx with dark brown fur and black spots*

Leah's aunt 1: Kavu? You're already here?

Leah's aunt 2: We thought you'd have arrived earlier this morning.

Kavu: Sorry I'm late. I needed to fix my fur to make it nice and shiny. Now where's my future bride?

Leah: (Offscreen) Go away! I don't wanna see you!

Kavu: What an attitude, my girl. Don't you want me as your husband?

Leah: (Yells) NO! Leave me alone!

Leah's mom: You heard what she said. Give her some time alone.

*Several hours later, Leah went outside to take a walk all by herself. She needed some peace and quiet away Kavu's annoying self-esteem and being bothered by him. Leah listened to the peaceful sounds of birds singing and chirping. They flew from tree to tree. This helped Leah forget about her troubles sometimes, no matter what the problems were about. Leah was approaching a lake when the bushes around her started rustling. She was startled the moment she heard the bushes*

Leah: Hello? Is somebody there? *A pair of jade green eyes appear in the bushes* I hope Kavu isn't following me. Man, he's a self-absorbed moron. *Her ear twitches as the rustling continues, so she slowly walks towards the bush* Who are you?

*At that moment, the head of a male Iberian Lynx pops out from the bushes. He had tan and beige fur,and some brown markings. Just as he popped his head out, Leah jumps back, startled. This makes her and him gasp in surprise*

Leah: Yikes! *Sighs in relief* You scared me!

?: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you.

Leah: That's okay. Sorry I scared you too.

?: Don't worry, you're good. I was just wondering how you were doing out here. *Steps out from the bushes*

Leah: I needed some peace and quiet. So I'm only taking a walk in the woods. *Stands up* Wait, I don't think we've met. I'm Leah.

?: My name's Kijakazi.

Leah: I like it! Wanna join me for a walk?

Kijakazi: Sure! I don't mind a walk with you.

Leah: Really?

Kijakazi: Yeah. *They walk through the woods together* In fact, I'd love to spend some time with you.

Leah: You would?

Kijakazi: *Winks with a smile* You betcha! I think it's a great idea. *Later, it was getting close to sunset*

Leah: Wow! That was a nice long walk, wasn't it?

Kijakazi: Yeah, that was fun! I hope we do it again.

Leah: Me too. Well, I better head home. *Walks away and her new friend walks in the opposite direction* I hope we meet again next time. Bye, Kijakazi.

Kijakazi: Goodbye, Leah. It was fun walking with you.

*So the two Iberian Lynx left after the first meeting. Leah hurried back to her den to get home. And Kijakazi went past the trees and bushes in the woods. Somewhere out near a pond, someone was sitting there, looking at some little fish swimming in it. He looked up when he saw Kijakazi arrive*

Kijakazi: Hi.

?: Heya, Kijakazi. How'd it go?

Kijakazi: *Sits down next to him happily* I had a nice walk with a new friend named Leah. We startled each other by the bushes, but... *Laughs* We had a good time.

?: That's great! I'd like to see her.

Kijakazi: Yeah. Maybe the next time I see Leah, I could introduce you to her. What do you think, Zen?

Zen: Sounds like a great idea! Can't hurt to meet a new friend. I bet Leah would love some friends like us. *Meanwhile, Leah had returned to her den in time*

Leah: Wow, I can't believe how much fun that was. *Sighs* (Thinking) At least Kijakazi's much better than being stuck around Kavu. I hope that someday, I'll get away. No matter how much Kavu tries to get near me, it always annoys me. If only I could have the chance to leave this place for good. *Her thoughts are interrupted by her mom walking in*

Leah's mom: Good evening, dear. I was about to tell you that dinner is ready.

Leah: Okay, Mom. I'll be there in a moment. I'm just thinking about something.

Leah's mom: Alright, Leah. Whatever you say. *Walks away* I'll let the others know.

Leah: Thanks, Mom. *Looks at the ceiling while lying on the floor* (Thinking) Kijakazi is such a nice guy. He's so much better than Kavu. That walk I had with Kijakazi was amazing, I think he'd be a great friend. Maybe I could even make more friends.
