That's All I Needed To Know
Sasuke lay in his bed, twisting and turning. He was asleep, but just barley. The summer air began suffocating him, as his breaths thickened. His sheets kicked franticly all over the floor. Something was happening that was very rare; Uchiha Sasuke was dreaming.
Standing before him was a bubble gumhaired girl. She wore her usual red dress with a small slit down the one side for maximum movement. But, her usual smile just wasn't there. Strangely, it was replaced with a look he had never seen before; nothing. She didn't look happy, sad, worried, nothing. Just, emotionless… a lot like he usually looked.
"Sasuke?" The girl said, rather emotionless once again.
"Hn?" His usual response. Why did he always respond with such small, meaningless words?
"Do you love me?"
Sasuke turned away. 'What a stupid question. She's so annoying.' He was about to tell her this too, but then she spoke again.
"Please Sasuke…" Now, her voice held a hint of something… worry. But, not worry that he would say no, no that's not it. She seemed more… rushed.
Sasuke turned his head slightly. "Y-yes." Finally, he said it, even if it only was a dream. 'She'll never really know… I can't let her…'
Suddenly, she smiled. He grew weak in the knees, but stood tall. "Thank you, Sasuke-kun. That's all I needed to know." With that, she began fading away; smile still plastered on her face. But, she looked… different. Her expression wasn't it's usual cheery one, but one of total and utter peace.
Suddenly, Sasuke awoke to the sound of his phone. It was Kakashi. Sakura had been on a mission… she didn't make it.
As soon as the words soaked in, he fell to his knees. And now, finally, after 7 years, the great Uchiha Sasuke cried.
