A/N: Thanks for continuing to read, review, and follow! I appreciate it. I hope you are enjoying the holiday season. I was inspired by it a little, and wrote a new story featuring our favorite couple entitled 'Blue Christmas'. Check it out and let me know what you think if you get the chance. This chapter is going to skip ahead a little. Hope you enjoy this last update of 2015, and have a happy and safe New Year!

Marissa was behind closed doors in her office when she reclined back in her chair and breathed a huge sigh of relief. She had just finished reviewing the last brief she had on her desk, and that meant she was finally caught up with the work that had piled up on her desk while the partners pursued the deal with Meyers Tech. It had taken a couple of weeks and Ellie keeping unnecessary distractions at bay, but it was done. This meant that Marissa could now finally get back to working on some cases. The redhead was going to take a few minutes to enjoy this accomplishment though. She was only able to enjoy it for a moment however before Ellie buzzed her. Marissa sighed before answering the call.

"Hi, Ellie. What's up?"

"You have two visitors that don't have appointments, but I think you're going to make an exception for them. It's Jo and Jessica Shelton."

Marissa smiled. "You're right. I'll definitely make an exception for them. Send them in please."

A moment later, Jo and Jessica entered.

"We're not interrupting anything, are we?" Jessica asked. "Because if we are …"

"Shush. You're fine. I just finished something up and was going to take a little break. So, your timing is perfect. Have a seat. Do you want anything to drink?"

"Nah, I'm good. Mom?"

"So am I, but thank you."

"Okay. What's up? You both look like you're about to burst."

"I'll let you do the honors, Mom." Jo smiled.

"You're going to have new neighbors. Our counteroffer on the house was accepted!"

"Seriously?!" Marissa sprang from her chair and ran around the desk to hug the other two women. "This is the best news! Congratulations!"

"Thanks!"

"Thank you! We wanted you to be the first to know."

Marissa smiled. "I'm honored. So, when are you moving?"

"Well, I'm still going to need to stay in New York for a couple of months to wrap up a few things. Plus, that's when our lease will be up. We were thinking of moving things down over the course of several weeks since we have the time."

Jessica nodded. "We need to hire movers."

"I got a name from someone at work. He said they did a great job for him when he relocated."

"Do you have a lot to move?" Marissa asked.

"We have a few things, but we also need to buy quite a few things since we have a bigger place to furnish. Would you be up to helping us with that?" Jo asked.

"Of course! Would it be alright if Bianca helped too? She loves to shop and can find the most amazing deals. It is truly incredible to watch her in action."

"She is more than welcome to come along then. The more the merrier." Jo glanced at her mother and nodded to encourage her to ask a question.

"I have a favor to ask."

"Name it."

"It's kind of big."

"Jessica, you can ask me anything."

"We were thinking that I could move down earlier to get things ready for us."

"That makes sense."

"I know it's silly, but I feel a little anxious staying in a big, empty house by myself. It would be different if it was furnished, but we won't have anything there for a bit. So, I was wondering …" Jessica's voice trailed off.

Marissa smiled knowingly. "Jessica, would you like to stay with us while you're getting things ready?"

"You wouldn't mind? I don't want to impose."

"I wouldn't mind one single bit. I'd love to have you stay with us. I totally get where you're coming from too. Staying in an empty house by yourself can be kind of creepy. Plus, I know you guys want to repaint some of the rooms. That will definitely be easier with no one there."

"What about Bianca?"

"I know Bianca will feel the same way that I do. Will you feel better if I ask her though?"

"I really would."

"Hold on a second then." Marissa pulled out her cellphone and sent off a quick text to her wife. No sooner had the text been sent then she received a call in reply. The redhead smiled as she answered. "Hello, my oh so gorgeous wife."

Bianca laughed. "I do like how you answer the phone. It does wonders for my ego. Hello to you, my beautiful bride. That is wonderful news about Jessica and Jo. Would Jessica like to stay with us until the house is ready for them to move in? They mentioned something about wanting to paint if they got it."

"Hold that thought. I'm going to put you on speaker, and you can ask her yourself." Marissa placed her wife on speaker. "Go ahead, B."

"Congratulations on the house! I'm so happy for you both. Jessica, would you like to stay with us while you get the house ready? Same question for you too, Jo."

Jessica glanced at Marissa with a raised eyebrow.

"Don't look at me like that. I didn't say anything. This is all her."

"Thank you, Bianca. I would appreciate it as long as you're sure it's not a problem."

"It's no problem at all. We love having you there, both of you. Now, do you need any help?"

"Thank you, Bianca. That's pretty much exactly what Marissa told her. We could use some help shopping for furniture, window treatments, and other stuff since we have a few rooms that need to be furnished. Your wife says you have some expertise in that area."

"I might have a little, but I come by it honestly. My Mom is Erica Kane after all."

"You have your own sense of style and taste though, B, and it's incredible."

"Well, I did pick you."

"I think you proved Marissa's point for her." Jessica noted, amused by the couple.

"Huh, I guess I did. Well, whatever help you need, just let us know."

"We will, and thank you."

"You're welcome. I need to go, but I think we need to celebrate."

"That's exactly what I was thinking, B." Marissa said.

"I'll leave it to your capable hands then, Rissa. Congratulations again. Love you, Rissa."

"Love you too, B."

"Thanks, Bianca." Jo added.

With the call disconnected, Marissa turned her attention back to her friends. "What did Greg say?"

"He's got a class right now so I haven't been able to tell him yet. I left him a message to call me as soon as he can."

"He's going to be happy."

Jo nodded. "Yeah, he is. He really likes this place."

"What about Caleb?"

Jessica couldn't hide her smile at the mention of the man. "He has court today so I'm going to call him later to let him know."

Marissa smiled. She and Caleb had talked about his relationship with Jessica, and the redhead knew that he cared about her friend a great deal. "That's someone else who's going to be happy to hear that news. As my lovely wife stated a few minutes ago, we definitely need to celebrate."

The mother and daughter looked at each other. They knew there was no chance of them talking Marissa out of it. At the same time though, neither Jessica nor Jo wanted Bianca or Marissa to go out of their way.

"Okay. What do you have in mind?" Jo asked.

"How does Krystal's for dinner sound? We'll just keep it small, all of us and Caleb."

"That'll work."

"Good. We can discuss details for an official housewarming for you later. Oh, don't even try and argue with me about it. You should just accept that it's going to happen. It won't be anything big though."

Jessica shook her head and laughed. "All right, you win. You should know that that's exactly something that your mother would say."

Marissa grinned taking Jessica's statement as the highest compliment.

/

"Almost done, Buddy, I promise." Marissa smiled as she straightened her oldest son's bowtie. It was a task that would've been made easier if AJ hadn't fidgeted as much as he had while she was tying it. "There. Very handsome. What do you think, Jessica?"

"You're definitely right. I think you might just be the most handsome young man at the wedding."

AJ ducked his head and blushed. "What about Danny?"

"He's much too young right now to be considered handsome. Danny will be the cutest little boy there."

The boy thought for a moment and puffed his chest out just a little with the answer.

Marissa chuckled at her son's reaction. Jessica was right. AJ was becoming quite the young man. "Could you do me a favor and take Danny's diaper bag out to my car, Buddy? We'll be leaving in a few minutes."

AJ nodded and grabbed the bag. "Okay, Ma."

The redhead turned to Jessica who was gently bouncing Danny and smiled. Her friend had returned to stay with the Tasker-Montgomery family following a quick trip back to New York after she and Jo had completed signing the paperwork for their new home. She had been back for a few days, and in between lining up painters and picking out carpet and window treatments, Jessica had also been a godsend to the family this past week. Today was Aya and Kate's wedding, and AJ, Miranda, and Gabby had roles in it which meant the entire family needed to be dressed and at the church early. Jessica helped the couple get the kids ready so they could get ready themselves. In addition to that, she had been helping Marissa with the kids' Halloween costumes throughout the week. Marissa had been worried that they had been taking advantage of her friend, but Jessica assured her that wasn't the case. She really enjoyed helping out and absolutely loved working on the costumes. With no grandchildren of her own, Jessica saw AJ, Miranda, and Gabby as the perfect surrogates for her, and she couldn't love them any more if they were actually her grandchildren. As for the children, they felt the same way. They were crazy about both Jessica and Jo.

"Thank you again for all of your help."

"You're more than welcome."

"How do we look, Ma?" Miranda asked as she, Gabby, and Bianca joined them.

"You look beautiful, just like your Mom."

Bianca looked on proudly as the girls beamed.

"I have to agree with that." Jessica added.

"Thank you." Bianca smiled and then looked around. "Where's AJ?"

"He took Danny's diaper bag to the car. We should get going." Marissa took Danny from Jessica. "You have fun tonight with Caleb."

Jessica blushed. "I will. Take plenty of pictures for me."

"We will." Marissa assured her friend as she headed to the garage.

"Bye, Jessica. Have a good evening." Bianca waved as she followed her wife, daughters, and youngest son out.

/

Marissa sat on the end of the aisle with camera in hand ready to snap pictures of AJ, Miranda, and Gabby along with both brides while Bianca held Danny. The youngest family member was behaving very well and charming everyone who glanced his way.

"Here they come." Marissa whispered to her wife as the bridal party began to make its way down the aisle. When it was time for the kids to make their appearance, the redhead leaned out a little to take their pictures. As they passed by, both mothers winked and smiled proudly. Marissa then turned her attention to the back of the church in time to snap a picture of Jan who was Aya's maid of honor. When it was time for the brides to make their entrance, everyone stood as the radiant women made their way down the aisle while guests took several photos of the women. Everyone took their seats as the ceremony began.

/

The reception was in full swing when the couple was approached by the brides.

"Aya, Kate, you look so beautiful, and the ceremony was wonderful." Bianca said as she hugged both women.

"I second that. Congratulations." Marissa added as she greeted the brides.

"Thank you! Hey, handsome." Aya smiled as she tickled Danny who laughed in reply. "Oh, and thanks for letting us borrow your kids for the ceremony."

Kate nodded. "They did great. Where are they by the way?"

"The dance floor. That bodes well for us and sleeping in tomorrow." Marissa grinned.

"I'm glad we could be of service." Aya chuckled. "Make sure the two of you get a dance in."

Bianca glanced at her wife. "Oh, we will, trust me on that."

/

Kendall stumbled to answer the door. The sun was barely up, and she was not expecting anyone this early, particularly the person on the other side of the door. "Greenlee? What's up? Is everything all right?"

Greenlee shook her head as she stepped into the Slater home. It was early Sunday morning, and she had been up most of the night. "I don't know. I just really needed to talk to someone, and you were the only one who came to mind."

"Okay. Do you want some coffee? It will be a couple of minutes since I don't have any made yet."

"I'm sorry. I didn't realize how early it was. I should go. We can talk tomorrow."

Kendall could tell something big was weighing on her friend's mind and stopped her from leaving. "No, we're going to talk, now. Come on in the kitchen."

Greenlee nodded gratefully and followed her friend.

/

Marissa was sitting alone in the kitchen as she enjoyed the quiet along with a cup of coffee the morning following the wedding. She had woken up early and couldn't get back to sleep. Seeing her wife sleeping peacefully, the redhead quietly left their bedroom so she didn't disturb Bianca.

"Good morning."

The redhead glanced up and smiled. "Good morning, Jessica. Did you have a good night?"

"I did. What about you? How was the wedding?"

"We did too. The wedding was beautiful, and the brides were deliriously happy."

Jessica poured herself a cup of coffee and took a seat at the kitchen table. "That's very good to hear. How did the children do?"

"They were great. Bianca and I were so proud of them. They ended up dancing a large part of the evening."

"I hope you and Bianca were able to dance as well."

Marissa grinned. "We danced to a couple of songs."

"Morning, Ma."

A smile spread across Marissa's face seeing a groggy Miranda and Gabby enter the room. Miranda took a seat in between her mother and Jessica while Gabby immediately leaned into Marissa's side and rubbed her eyes. "Good morning. What are the two of you doing up so early? After last night, I thought for sure you'd be sleeping for at least a few more hours."

Miranda yawned before she spoke. "Gabby and I had something we wanted to ask you, and didn't wanna do it around AJ."

Marissa pulled Gabby onto her lap as she wondered what her daughters could possibly have on their minds that they didn't want their brother to know about. "Okay. What do you want to know?"

"Should we call Krystal 'grandma'?"

/

A/N: It's a different kind of cliffhanger for all of you this time. I have to keep you all on your toes, don't I now? One of you lovely readers, and I can't remember who it was, asked about whether or not Miranda and Gabby would call Krystal 'grandma'. I jotted the question down in my notes and have been sitting on it for a little while. So, I apologize for not remembering who gave me that idea, but I thank you for it.

I have a correction in the Portuguese translation from the last chapter. Google let me down, but nic1983 did not! The translation for "I want you and only you, my love" should actually be "Eu quero você e só você, meu amor". Thank you for keeping me honest. See all of you in 2016!
