It had been a very long day for V, but he could not seem to settle himself into sleep. He had been sitting in a chair for what seemed ages, his mask and gloves back to their proper places, thinking over all he'd had done so far. V did what he thought was right in regards to Evey, his guest; he couldn't leave her there alone on the corridor floor. It's very likely the cameras taped what she had done for him. Fingermen would have arrested her on the spot, unconscious or not, and she would have probably been dead in a few weeks or less. He was hoping she wouldn't resent his decision to bring her to his home.
V walked to the door of Evey's temporary room, opening it enough to peer in on her. Even when she was asleep, she never seemed fully comfortable. She was turned away from the door, but her body was curled together tightly. V didn't know very much about her, but they only had met the night before. If she had any friends, were they even concerned about her? Did she have any family? Siblings? Parents? Or maybe, a thought sparked; she was as lonely as he was. He hoped that when Evey awoke, she wouldn't run away and tell everyone where he is. But then again, it's possible she could even stay and grow to trust him. It would be dangerous for her to go back into the public life.
Evey stirred and her eyes flickered as if they were to open, but it was brief moment before she went still again. V took this as a cue to close her door and try to get some rest himself, even though that was unlikely.
