Lightly and slowly the woman in white floated across the brown, speckling floor, her skirt standing absolutely still as she entered through the doorway, the pronunciation of numbers following hot on her heals. Finally making it into the room she turned around and headed back out, stopping just outside of the door, the final number being twelve. "It was Professor Plum in the study with the lead pipe!" the counting voice shouted out, a loud smack sounding in the midst of the exclamation. Dr. Temperance Brennan looked up from her "Mrs. White" figurine that stood just outside of the lounge to see Special Agent Seeley Booth eyeing her flabbergasted, the palm of his hand smashed to his forehead. They sat on the light floor of her apartment's living room, the board game splayed out before them.
"Oh my God Bones."
"What!"
"You have to be in a room to take a guess and you have to guess about the room your in, which, if you were in a room, would be the lounge." He sighed heavily.
"I was in it!" she counteracted, looking around the carpet for the instructions to the game, pillows surrounding her hips and crossed legs as well as booth's. "There's nothing that says you cannot guess a room you have already been in, though you are not presently in it."
He leaned over, handing her a sheet of thin paper. "Check rule five." She looked at him challengingly, the blue of her eyes gleaming with the sureness that she was correct. Finally breaking their gaze she looked down at the paper, reading the rule out loud.
"After entering a room the players turn ends, and they may move the suspect into this room. After doing so the player must make a suggestion of suspicion. I.e. 'I suggest the crime was committed by Colonel Mustard, in the library with the pistol.' The player may only guess the crime set in the room in which their piece is located." She stopped reading and frowned. He smiled; she always looked cute when she was angry. Picking up the dice he rolled an eight.
Picking up his miniature "Mr. Green" he moved him into the study, then taking the previously immobile Professor Plum from his starting spot he placed the figurine inside the study with Mr. Green, his smile broadening. "And it was Professor Plum, in the study with the lead pipe."
A/n: This is set after "Woman in the tunnel" I thought I'd like to have Booth teach Bones how to play Clue. It was supposed to be cute but I don't think it came out as expected. I'm a very music oriented person so when I was writing this I was listening to "'Bout time" by Luis Armstrong; it sort of sets a mood to it.
