Once Carol began implementing the lessons she'd learned from the girls, her life took an interesting turn. She quit school, opting to focus her time and energy on survival training. They taught her how to live off the land without the need for modern struggles or conveniences. As a result, her health and endurance improved greatly. She learned to withstand long hours of motion without succumbing to pain and exhaustion. Finally, the day came where they prepared to train her in the art of heroism. Behind the scenes, there were benevolent forces at play of which even she was unaware...
Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup led Carol down to the professor's lab. In the eastern wall, the door to the training room lied in wait.
"What we're about to show you must remain secret," Blossom advised, "If it falls into the wrong hands, Earth will be in serious trouble."
Carol nodded. Blossom turned the knob, pushing the barrier open.
"The professor built this facility not long after we defeated Mojo for the first time. I've made a few adjustments since then."
"Adjustments?"
"I was inspired by Goku and Gohan when they trained together in the hyperbolic time chamber. I started studying physics to learn how the mechanics of gravity and climate work. From there, I managed to simulate the chamber's conditions. In other words, we can change the gravity and weather at will."
"Holy shit..."
"Everything we've taught you up to this point is meant to keep your strength up when you venture off on your own. Now you have to learn how to use it."
Buttercup handed Carol a wooden sword.
"We'll start you off easy. The average person can only handle up to five times normal gravity. For now we'll keep it the same as Earth's."
"What should I do?"
"Start with some basic cardio, strength training, and climate conditioning. We'll spar after lunch."
Carol nodded.
Blossom shifted the climate throughout the first half of Carol's training session. She monitored her condition and kept communication open over the intercom. Carol made full use of the equipment provided. Just before she was about to puke, Blossom shut off the simulation.
"You did good. There's a little distress in your nervous system, but that's to be expected from newbies. All-in-all, not a bad first morning."
Too winded to respond, Carol gave her mentors a thumbs up.
After lunch, Carol took a short nap. Once her muscles recovered, the girls took her back down for the second round.
"This phase is about testing your reflexes and quick thinking skills," Blossom instructed, "I don't expect you to be able to keep up with us right away, but you'll get there."
"How? I'm just a normal human. I'm not like you..."
"The only way to discover your true abilities is by testing your limits. Who knows..."
Blossom got into a fighting stance. The leader of the powerpuffs smiled.
"You might have more tricks up your sleeve than you realize."
