Evey didn't want him to go, for him to leave her alone again. But here she was, alone in this hollow Underground station. The train full of explosives sat idle in front of her, and she stood in front of its open doors.
V…
She had fallen deeply in love with him, but was set on edge after her faux capture and real torture. It made sense to V, and she had come out as a stronger woman. If it were real, there was real death and a real makeshift plot for her. But she no longer feared death. And it was thanks to him. She was still unsure how to feel.
I hope he's alright…
When she went to Dietrich's house to stay after V killed Father Lilliman, each day was a worry about him. Another news report would come on and she half expected to see him near death. Evey knew in the back of her head V would be fine, but a little voice somehow made her deny that on occasion. But now, he's dealt with whatever fate he believes he was given.
And the kiss…
Even upon cold plastic, she still felt a charge from those lips. She had wanted to do that for a very long time, but it took her until now to gather up her courage. All she wanted was to touch his bare skin, scarred or not. But he set his limits for her, and she respected them, of course. She remembered when he was cooking breakfast on her first morning in the Shadow Gallery, and how bad his hands were. But she was no longer alarmed by them.
Please, V, just come back to me…
What would she do if he didn't come back? V was a man of promise, and he always kept his word and told her the truth. V would come back to her. He had to.
I love you so much…
