A/N: Thanks for continuing to read, review, and follow! I really appreciate it. I'm going to be out of town this weekend. Some friends and I are having a little getaway. From the sound of it, we all need it, and I'm really looking forward it. Nothing big, just not here. So, I decided to post a short chapter now. This chapter jumps forward a little bit. Hope you enjoy this update!

It was a struggle and extremely tempting, but Bianca absolutely refused to open her eyes. She was enjoying herself entirely too much and didn't want to do anything that might cause that feeling to stop. Marissa's soft lips gently grazed her neck while her hands caressed the brunette's curves. When Marissa's lips found that one certain spot, Bianca couldn't hold back her moan.

"Good morning. I knew you were awake." Marissa smirked as she continued to tease her wife.

Bianca sighed happily. "Good morning. Have I ever told you how much I love the way you wake me up sometimes?"

"You might have mentioned it a few times." Marissa squeaked when Bianca flipped their positions.

"Not that I'm complaining, but you're up awfully early for someone who has the day off." Bianca said as she quickly glanced at the time. Marissa had been putting in a lot of hours working on the Landry case. It had officially moved to a class action suit with Marissa currently representing 83 victims. She was filing suits against Landry and Llanview University as well as considering one against USA Gymnastics. It turns out that several of the gymnasts that Marissa represented had reported the abuse to members of the organization who had done nothing. Marissa was also working with Nora on the criminal case against Landry which added to her caseload. The redhead had decided to take a couple of well-earned days off. Said time off happened to coincide with a long weekend for the kids due to a school in-service day, and Bianca had decided to take that day off as well. That wasn't today however. That was tomorrow. Today was all about Marissa taking the day off, relaxing and doing a little last-minute planning for Danny's birthday party that weekend.

"I wanted to get an early start on my day off." Marissa grinned as she leaned up and kissed Bianca.

"Well, who am I to stop that? It is your day off after all."

"Exactly!"

Bianca laughed as Marissa flipped them again. She all too willing to let her wife take the lead this morning.

Bianca wandered into the kitchen and found Marissa flipping pancakes. After a failed attempt of conserving water by showering together, Marissa let Bianca get ready for work while she got the kids up and started on breakfast.

"Do I really have to remind you that you're off today? You're supposed to be relaxing."

"I am relaxing. I've missed this, spending the morning together and having breakfast with you and kids. I'm doing exactly what I want today." Marissa grinned. "And part of that includes me driving the kids to school and you to work. Don't argue with me on that. It's what I want to do. Before you ask, I'll be dropping Danny off at Jessica's later, so I can run a few errands and have a little time to myself."

"Good. I'll go check on the kids." Bianca gave her wife a quick kiss before she headed upstairs. This would give her a few minutes to talk with the kids about their plans for tomorrow. With Marissa working so much and everyone focusing on Danny's first birthday, the family hadn't had the time to properly celebrate her birthday. Bianca and the kids were going to rectify that tomorrow. It wasn't going to be a big celebration because Marissa didn't want that, especially since they were celebrating Danny's birthday the following day, and she didn't want to take away from his first birthday. So tomorrow, it was just going to be dinner and a night in with a cake and presents.

Once Bianca had left, Marissa pulled out her cellphone and sent a quick text to Jan.

"Are we good for today?"

"Yes, we are. Her schedule is completely free this afternoon, but she doesn't know it yet. I'll see you later at the Center."

"Thanks! You're the best!"

Marissa grinned and put her cellphone away. This was going to be a good day.

"Wow! She is absolutely beautiful." Jo stood back in awe as she eyed her best friend's purchase.

"She really is. You don't think it's too much, do you?"

Jo turned to her friend and smiled. "No, I don't. You deserve this. What did Adam tell you to do with the money he left you? Use it on something fun?"

Marissa chuckled. "Something along those lines."

"Well, this is definitely fun. Enjoy it! You also have to promise to give me a ride, a long one with the top down."

"After Bianca, yes." Marissa turned when she heard her name.

"And here we go, Mrs. Tasker-Montgomery."

"What did I say, Tony?"

"To call you Marissa. Sorry. Here are your keys, Marissa." The salesman grinned as he handed over two keys to Marissa's new car.

Marissa smiled brightly as she accepted the keys. It was the latest model of a Mustang convertible. The color was Kona blue with a black leather interior and all the bells and whistles. She knew she didn't need a new car and certainly not a convertible, but it was fun. She couldn't wait to see the expression on Bianca's face when she surprised her for lunch. It would be almost as good as what it would be when her second surprise was revealed. Bianca knew Marissa was getting a new car. She just didn't know what kind or that she would be getting it today. Marissa had actually bought the car two weeks ago after starting the process close to three months ago, but she had to wait because they didn't have the color she wanted at that time. When she had gotten a call from Tony earlier in the week that the car would be delivered that Thursday, she rearranged her schedule. To keep it a surprise, Marissa had asked Jo to take her to the car dealership to pick it up.

"Thank you, Tony."

The salesman held out his hand to shake Marissa's hand. "You're welcome and thank you. I have to tell you that I really enjoyed working you. I wish all my customers could be like you." Tony had been impressed from the moment Marissa set foot on the car lot. She had first stopped by during lunch to take a look and see what they had available. Tony immediately introduced himself, and the two had an easy rapport. She had left that day without committing to anything but did take his card. When she returned a few days later, Marissa declined help from the other salespeople and asked for him specifically since he was the one she initially worked with. Tony appreciated that because when you work on a commission the competition among salespeople could at times be cutthroat. It was during that second lunchtime visit that the two began to work closely together. Marissa impressed him further during that visit. She knew exactly what she wanted, was well-informed, and was a pretty good negotiator. In the end, both were happy with the results.

"You're welcome. I enjoyed working with you too, and I'll definitely recommend you to my friends and family. I have a feeling that when my brother-in-law sees this he'll be coming to see you."

"I look forward to it! The weather forecast looks really good, so you can make good use of having that top down."

"I can't wait! I need to go surprise Bianca. Thanks again, Tony." Marissa turned to her friend. "Thanks for bringing me, Jo. How about we go for a ride Saturday morning? You can come with me when I pick up some things for Danny's party. I'll have to give you a raincheck on the long drive though."

Jo hugged her friend. "Deal! Go have fun and let me know Bianca's reaction to the surprises."

"I will. See ya!" With the top already down, Marissa climbed into the convertible, fastened her seatbelt, put on her sunglasses, started the engine, and pulled out of the car lot. Next stop, the Miranda Center to surprise Bianca.

"Hi, Marissa."

The redhead smiled and returned the greeting. "Hi, Jan. She in her office?"

"Yes, she is, and she still has no idea that she is about to be kidnapped." Jan grinned.

"Excellent! Thank you for helping me today."

"My pleasure. You can go on back."

The two were interrupted by a smiling Aya. "Is that your convertible I just saw you getting out of, Marissa."

"It is. I'm considering it a birthday present to myself."

"Well, happy birthday to you! That is one sweet ride."

"You got a convertible? Bianca said you were getting a new car but didn't say what kind." Jan said.

"That's because she didn't know what kind I was getting. Consider it a surprise for her too." Marissa grinned as she headed back to her wife's office.

"Let's go check it out!" Aya suggested.

"I'm already ahead of you. I just forwarded my phone to Christy." Jan hurried past her friend.

Bianca glanced up from her laptop and smiled when she saw her wife standing at the entrance to her office. "Hey. This is a nice surprise."

"Hey yourself." Marissa crossed the room and kissed her wife.

"What's in the bag, Counselor?" Bianca noticed the small duffle bag Marissa had on her shoulder.

"A change of clothes, for you."

"For me? What are you talking about?"

"I'm kidnapping for the rest of the day."

"But I have meetings."

"No, you don't. That's a fake calendar that Jan put together for me so I could surprise you. You are actually free for the rest of the day."

"Oh, wow. Okay. Why do I need to change my clothes?"

"It's for your other surprise. Do you really think I would go to all of this trouble to just whisk you away for lunch?"

Bianca raised an eyebrow.

"Fine." Marissa huffed. "Yes, I would, but that's not the case today."

"And I need to change my clothes for this surprise?"

"Yes, you do. Plus, I think you'll be more comfortable in my new car."

"You got your car?! What did you get?"

"Well, the sooner you change your clothes and pack your stuff up, the sooner you'll find out." Marissa grinned.

"Okay, I get it. I'll go change."

"Good. I'll meet you outside." Marissa gave Bianca a quick kiss before she left her to change.

/

"Oh my god!" Bianca's jaw hung open when she saw Marissa leaning against a vibrant blue Mustang convertible that she knew instantly was hers. "I love it! And you? Damn if you don't look hot too." Bianca's voice dropped so only Marissa could hear her.

"Thank you. I have to admit that I've been picturing you in the seat next to me." Marissa cleared her throat. "Let's put your stuff in the trunk and head out."

Bianca saw a cooler in the trunk when she went to put her bag in. "What's in here?"

"That would be lunch, which we will eat at our next destination."

When the trunk was closed, Marissa opened the passenger door for her wife. "Ready?"

"Definitely."

Once both women had fastened their seatbelts, they put on their sunglasses and pulled away with a wave to the small crowd of office staff that had gathered earlier to check out Marissa's new ride.

/

"I'm so glad you decided on the convertible. I know how much fun you had driving the one we had for our honeymoon."

"Yeah, that was really fun. I know I don't need this, but Adam said to spend the money on something fun."

"In this case, I'm glad you took his advice." Bianca laughed. It was then that she started to get an inkling of where they were headed. "Uh, Rissa, where are we headed exactly?"

"Where do you think we're headed?" Marissa asked with a twinkle in her eyes.

"Seriously? The stables?! We're going to go for a ride?!" Bianca asked excitedly. She loved riding, and her wife knew it. While Bianca could be considered an expert rider, Marissa wasn't as self-assured as her wife. The redhead loved horses, but she was also a little nervous around them. Marissa had, however, gotten better over time with Bianca's help.

"We've got beautiful day and the afternoon to ourselves. Why not?" Marissa grinned and drove down the road leading to the stables. She parked the car, and the couple got out. "Hang out here for a minute while I go let them know we're here."

Bianca nodded and walked over to the fence surrounding a small pasture where several horses were. One horse in particular caught her eye. He was beautiful and had a reddish-brown body with a black mane, tail and points on his legs, face and ears. Just as he had caught Bianca's eye, it turned out that she had caught the animal's eye, and he made his way over to her.
