A/N- I warn you. I angsted this one out quite a bit since I've been watching sad Anime all day! I do hope you enjoy it anyway! It's my ultra short oneshot! Implied shonen-ai. Deal with it! This takes place after the final battle. If you can't figure out what's going on here… I either need to pity you or work on my subtle hints….
Last Letter
Dear Sain,
You lied to me. You lied when you said you would be waiting. The battle is over now. It's been over for a long time, and I still can not find you. Did you run away? What was there to run away from?
You made me promise to come back alive. Here I am, where are you? Where's the stupid smile and loose tongue that used to give me such trouble?
I listened to you, Sain. I listened when you told me how worried you were that I would not be coming back. The final battle scared me as well, but I thought for sure I had nothing to fear. I knew I would see you again. I did not even move when you embraced me, and I trusted you when you said you would tell me something important after the battle.
Where are you Sain? I tried looking for you, but I can not find you, no matter where I look. You promised me you would live. Sain, what did you want to tell me that was so hard for you that you had to go and leave me like this?
I can not trust myself to fight any longer. I feel as if I am wasting away slowly. You were like a brother to me, Sain. You were my inspiration when I would quit. You made me smile when I felt down. I have not smiled in a long time. It has become too quiet.
I do not know for sure if this letter will reach you. But you promised me that you would come back, so I trust you. I always trusted you, no matter how many times I called you a fool.
Come back to me, Sain. I fear I may be lost without you. I am not afraid of what you wanted to tell me. I would listen to anything you had to tell me.
I believe that no one else expects you to return. You will anyway, will you not? I miss you, Sain. I sound redundant now, but I am begging you. Please come find me. I have your favorite headband with me still. I found it after the battle. You would come back for that at least, would you not? Even if you do not want to come back for me.
Sain, I'm sorry if I let you down.
