I always wanted to know his secret. I wanted to know how the clouds could look like horses. To me they only looked like white puffy blobs, doomed to float through the sky forever. Duo would never tell me how he made the pictures in the clouds appear. He always would say it was a secret since I couldn't see them, it was a magic that I didn't possess. My sister just said that I was too logical a thinker. If I didn't try so hard I would see the shapes. But no matter how hard I tried I couldn't see the shapes. So Duo took to giving me a commentary on the developments in the sky. He would describe the way a bird flew into a castle which changed into plane when the wind shifted. These were my favorite moments with my best friend.
But as the cliché saying goes 'All good things must come to an end…', and they did. We met in the park like we did everyday there were clouds in the sky. There were cars and birds and dragons in the sky that day. Duo even made a story up to go with the commentary. It had something to do with the birds driving to a building and meeting their friend the dragon. Then going out for lunch and only having strawberry ice cream. Ice cream of course made us hungry. I got up and went down the path to buy us both strawberry ice cream. When I came back he was gone.
I haven't found him yet. And everyone else has given up. Including Duo's parents, who love him more than the world. I will never give looking. And when I find him I will have a story to go with the pictures that I see in the sky.
