"Isn't it being rude sitting on someone else's desk?" I keep myself compose and try not to act childishly.
He keeps his stares at me. Suddenly, a smirk curves his lips.
"Oh, your desk you say?" he says while getting up from the chair.
To my surprise, he stomps his filthy shoe on my desk and now, it is full of dirt.
Everyone in the room is staring at us. I'm surprised that everyone is silent and nobody interrupts us, not even Boruto or Chocho. Maybe they are shocked as well.
"Oh, my apologies I made your desk dirty with my shoe. I stepped on the mud earlier on my way here," he tells me giving me a sarcastic look.
I clench my fist with anger. If punching someone stupid isn't a bad thing, I must have punched this jerk on his ugly face.
Before I could say a word our teacher enters the room and everyone gets to their respective desks.
"Good morning class!" our teacher greets.
"Oh," she utters when she sees both of us standing.
"Seems like our new boy gets along with Sarada already," she remarks.
Wait, what I just heard? This jerk already gets along with me? The teacher doesn't know a thing.
"By the way, before we start the class I would like to introduce to you your new classmate, a transferee from Shoujo High. Come over here, Kawaki and I will introduce you to them," she says.
"Tch," I hear him express his annoyance.
He stands up from hi, no from my chair and I move away to give him space. I still have my clenched fists.
He grabs his bag, walks, and joins our teacher in front.
I sit on my chair and grabs a scratch paper from my bag to clean up the dirt on my desk.
That jerk is spoiling my day already.
Our teacher introduces him to us. I'm not listening to what she says I'm busy cleaning my desk due to his filthy shoe. The only thing I know is he is Kawaki, that grumpy jerk is Kawaki.
"Who is he? He looks so cool."
"I have never seen him here before."
I hear some of the girls gossip about him in the canteen. He is sitting at a table a few meters away from us.
"He is so cool Sarada. Well, not just cool but a dreamy one," she comments.
"Come on not you too, Chocho," I snarl.
"You two seem not on good terms," she adds.
"She's a jerk," I tell her.
"You don't like jerks?" she asks.
"Of course, if the jerk is him," I respond.
"Umm..." she murmurs.
I scowl every time I see him around. That jerk is getting into my nerves. I still haven't forgiven him for what he had done to my desk.
He stood up and leaves the canteen. I could hear the girls giggle after.
"You see that? He looks at me," the girl says to her friend.
So, he has gotten popular in such a short time?
"I think Boruto has a competition with Kawaki as the most popular boy on the campus now," Chocho says and sips on her drink.
"Boruto doesn't need to compete with him though he isn't a jerk," I smirk.
"I wonder who will be this year's Campus' King and Queen," she says while playing with her drink's straw.
Huh? Well, I think Boruto's still on the lead here. Boruto was last year's Campus King and that jerk just got here so he wouldn't get much popularity as what Boruto got.
"Hey, it's Boruto!" someone yells. He enters the canteen with some boys. I could not help myself from looking at his blonde hair and blue eyes.
I did not even get the chance to stare at him in class earlier because of that jerk.
"Hey Sarada, Chocho," he greets us.
"H-Hi," I stutter. I feel like my cheeks blush. What's happening to me?
Chocho nudges me on my side. I look at her.
"You're being obvious. Come on and write him a love letter," she whispers in my ear.
"There's no way I'm gonna do that!" I frown.
"Hmm. Look at the girls who daydream about him," she tells me and I look at the girls giggle as they saw Boruto just walking in the school's canteen.
I don't have the guts to do it. I can't even talk straight to him without stuttering.
I'm so glad that Boruto never declares that he has a crush on someone. Maybe he is too busy studying and participating in some of the school's activities. If that happens I don't know what would I feel.
"I'm home!" mom yells when she enters the house.
"Welcome home, mom," I respond.
This time I cooked for our dinner. I know she's tired from work. I won't let her waste any more energy by cooking us dinner.
"Dinner is ready!" I cheerfully tell her.
"I'm sorry, honey. I should be doing that," she says with a sad face.
I shake my head and smile at her.
"Let's eat!" I tell her.
It was an exhausting day for me...
"Sarada let's change. Our P.E. class will start in 10 minutes," Chocho tells me.
We went to our locker and get dressed. A few minutes have past and we assembled in the field.
We will be playing soccer as part of our lesson. Boruto's playing with the boys except for Kawaki. The jerk is sitting on the lawn watching Boruto and the rest play.
"Kawaki?" our teacher calls for him. He is talking to him then the jerk walks in Boruto's direction. I silently watch him when Chocho pulls me to play with the girls.
I am playing with the ball and when I turn, I saw Kawaki kicks on the ball and it sends flying in my direction and I don't know what happens next.
I wake up staring at the clinic's ceiling. I blink countless times and I heard Chocho's voice.
"Sarada, finally you're awake!" she yells looking all so worried.
I rise from the bed and suddenly my head hurts. I put my hand on my head to gesture that my head stings. I have scratches on my forehead and a small wound that is covered with a bandaid.
As far as I can remember, Kawaki kicked the ball and I was hit on my head.
That damn jerk has a grudge against me.
"Are you okay, Sarada?" Chocho asks me.
"My head hurts a little but I feel okay now," I tell her.
"O-okay," she sounds worried.
"Let's go back to the classroom," I tell her, and I stand up from the bed.
"Are you sure?" she asks with twitching brows. I nod and we leave the clinic.
"You jerk!" I point at him.
He cluelessly stares at me.
"Look what you've done to me! Do you have a problem with me? Why did you kick the ball in my direction?" I almost yell at him.
I'm really upset. Thank goodness I did not get any serious injuries.
"It was an accident. We were playing, then when I kicked the ball you were there," he explains without any emotions at all.
"How would I know if you did not do it intentionally?" I frown in front of him. Chocho is just behind me watching us.
"Sarada and Kawaki, come with me," our P.E. teacher tells us. Without protest, we follow him.
He brought us to his office. We settled on the vacant seats.
"I'm sorry for what happened, Sarada. I am the one responsible for this. It was an accident, Kawaki isn't the one to blame," he says.
So, it was an accident. I look down not saying a word.
"I'll talk to your parent and apologize for the problem I made. I should have been careful in the first place," he adds.
"Don't worry about it, teacher. I understand. I will explain everything to mom myself," I tell him.
"No, I would like to personally apologize. You've been hurt and it's not okay," he insists.
"Okay, I'll make her come tomorrow," I say.
"Thank you, Sarada," he smiles.
I gaze at the jerk and he is just rolling his eyes like he doesn't care at all. How annoying.
We leave his office and the jerk walks ahead of me as nothing had happened.
How could he? Does his parent teach him manners?
"You're wound completely healed," Chocho remarks when she couldn't see the bandaid on my forehead anymore.
"Yup," I nod.
"Hey Sarada," she calls out to me almost whispering in my ear.
"Yeah?" I furrow.
"I've heard Boruto is receiving letters from random girls," she reveals. My eyes enlarge.
"R-Really?" I ask in surprise. She nods as an answer.
"I was in the restroom when I heard girls gossiping about how they sent Boruto love letters in his locker," she continues.
"So, did he read them?" I ask in my excitement.
"They did not mention it, but the other girl said Boruto was surprised and he even smiled at those letters then she giggled," she responds.
So, Boruto likes reading love letters?
"I see," I utter.
"That's why you need to try it too," she insists again.
"Umm..." I murmur.
Should I try it? But... I'm scared he will ignore my feelings.
Sarada, you're being paranoid. I scold myself in my head.
I settle on my study table. I grab plain white paper and a pen.
I decided to try writing a letter for Boruto, but the problem is I don't know what to tell him. I don't know how to confess my feelings in the letter. I have no words in my mind.
Arggh! Chocho is driving me crazy about this love letter thing!
"Okay class, we will be doing an experiment activity. You will perform in pairs. It's a bit complicated so you may need assistance from your classmate. I will randomly pick names now," our science teacher announces.
"I wish to be paired with Boruto," Tsubaki tells her friend Yodo while giggling.
"Tch, that should be me, but to be paired with Kawaki feels great too," Yodo replies to her.
Oh? Yodo wants to be paired with that jerk? She can't be serious.
Chocho gestures 'whatever' to me when she heard their wishes. I silently laugh at her and she just rolls her eyes.
"The first pair..." our teacher starts.
"Wasabi and Iwabe," she continues.
I can see Wasabi frown because she doesn't like Iwabe much.
"The second pair is Mitsuki and Chocho," she says.
"Oh?!" Chocho utters. She looks fine and Mitsuki's okay. She is a friend with him though. Mitsuki smiles at her.
"Third pair Shikadai and Inojin."
"Fourth pair Denki and Tsubaki."
"What?!" Tsubaki shouts. Everyone looks at her.
"What's wrong, Tsubaki?" our teacher asks.
"Oh, nothing," she can't complain about it though.
Who's gonna be my pair?
"Fifth pair..." she stops.
"Sarada and..." I think the time slows down when I heard my name.
Who would it be? Who would be my pair?
"...and Boruto."
"Sixth pair..."
I think my whole world stops turning for seconds when I hear my name paired up with Boruto.
He looks at me and smiles. I think I am dumbfounded in front of his face. Wait, am I dreaming?
Eh?
What?
It's Boruto and me?
Seriously?
It can't be...
My heart race...
