Disclaimer: I would like to confirm that I do not own the movie "Forrest Gump" as it is the property of Robert Zemeckis. I like to add that I do not own "Fairy Tail" as well since that happens to be the property of "Fairy Tail."
Notice: Lately, I've become obsessed with that Character Recast Memes that I've been looking up on Deviantart lately and saw one on "Forrest Gump" and figured it would be cool to do a parody version of "Forrest Gump" with your favorite "Fairy Tail" characters role playing the parts. Also, if you're a big freak about those Character Recast Memes, look me up on my Deviantart account under sailormars81 and send me some suggestions and I'll make them into Fan Fictions.
Just to give you a heads up, I'll only accept a casting with Anime characters, no random cartoons.
Chapter 1
A feather was floating through the sky falling. It was falling down towards the city of Magnolia right down below. The feather drops down towards the streets below, as people walk past and cars drive by, and nearly lands on a man's shoulders.
The man walks across the street, causing the feather to be whisked back on its journey. The feather floats above a stopped car. The car drives off right as the feather floats down towards the street.
The feather floats under a passing car, then is sent flying back up in the air. A man is sitting on a bus bench. The feather floats above the ground and finally lands on the man's mud soaked shoes.
The man reaches down and picks up the feather. His name is Gray Fullbuster. He looks down at the feather oddly, moves aside a box of chocolates from his suitcase, then opens the case.
He puts the feather in an old book he kept that belonged to his mother. Gray then closes up the suitcase.
A bust pulls up as Gray remains on the bus bench since this wasn't his bus. The bus stopped only for a second to see if anybody would get on, then closed its doors and kept on driving.
A young green-haired woman in a cowboy looking outfit steps up and sits down at the bus bench next to Gray. Her name was Bisca Connell. She begins to read a magazine that had a nice looking cowboy guy on the front. It was a magazine mostly about ranching.
"Hi," Gray greeted Bisca. "My name's Gray Fullbuster."
Bisca smiled and replied, "Bisca Connell."
Gray opens a box of chocolate and holds it out for Bisca. "Want one?"
Bisca shakes her head. "No, thanks. I'm on a diet. Of course, if my little girl was her, I'm sure she wouldn't mind."
As Gray eats a piece of chocolate, he couldn't help but notice the nice looking boots Bisca was wearing. They were shiny white boots that had a star emblem on each one.
"By the way, those are nice looking boots," Gray commented. "I take it you're a ranch girl?"
Bisca said, "You shouldn't assume what people wear based on how they look, but yes, I'm a rancher. My husband and I herd cows. Basically it's just me, my husband and our little girl. And yes, we make plenty of money off it that I can afford these babies."
"Wish I had some nice shoes," said Gray. "Mines used to be really nice. But I've run so much on them that they're worn out. My mom used to tell me that you can tell a lot about a person's shoes based on where they go and have been."
"Your mother sounds like a smart woman," Bisca complimented.
Gray smiled. "Tell me about it. I can still remember back on the strangest shoes I ever got that she gave me."
(Many Years Ago)
A little boy closes his eyes tightly. It is young Gray at 10-years-old. He was sitting in the doctor's office. Gray had been fitted with orthopedic shoes and metal leg braces.
His Doctor, Dr. Eve Tearm said, "Alright, Gray. You can open your eyes now."
Gray opened his eyes and was caught by surprise by the brace legs that were strapped to him. It was very uncommon, but they were put on him since he had polio disease and was born with a crooked back. This was meant to straighten his crooked back.
Eve lifted Gray and said, "Go on and try them out."
He sets Gray down on his feet. Gray walks around stiffly and knows this is something he's going to have to get used to. He may get unwanted attraction, but Gray could care less since he wasn't that popular and it paid him no mind what people would think of his brace legs. He's been called worse before.
Eve sat next to Gray's mother, Ur, to explain Gray's condition. "As you can see, Gray indeed has strong legs. But the problem really is his back, which is really crooked. But there's no reason to fret. A couple of years of wearing these brace legs and he'll be good as new. Right, Gray."
Gray walks past the doctor and his mother and loses his balance and falls.
"Gray!" Ur called, helping her son back up.
Now, my mom wasn't really my real mother. My real parents died when I was only a baby and that's when Ur came and adopted me when she lost her baby due to a miscarriage and felt a connection with me.
Ur named me after one of the brave knights who fought for the country of Fiore. His name was Gray Locksley. He wasn't exactly a knight. The guy started off as a nobleman, but decided to throw all that away for the sake of his country.
Almost every night, Ur would tell me all kinds of stories about his heroic adventures and she always thought of him as a brave man. Anyway, the reason gave me that man is that she hoped I would grow up to be a brave man like that knight. It may seem silly, but I take that name with heart.
Gray stopped suddenly as his brace got stuck. Gray's brace is caught in a gutter grate. Ur bends down and tries to free Gray. Two old cronies sit in front of a barbershop and watch.
"Just wait, let me get it," Ur told her son.
Ur struggles to pull the stuck brace from the grate.
"Let me get it," she said. "Wait, get it this way. Hold on."
Gray finally pulls his foot out of the grate. Ur helps Gray up onto the sidewalk. She looks up and notices the two old men staring at him.
"What?" Ur told them with an attitude. "Is there a problem with my son? If you have something you want to say, I suggest you say it."
The old men decided to keep their mouths shut than face the wrath of a feisty woman. Ur and Gray walk along the sidewalk past the two old men. Ur olds tightly onto Gray's hand.
"Gray, you listen to me," Ur told her son. "You never let anybody tell you they're better than you. If God intended everybody to be the same, he'd have given us all braces on our legs."
Ur always did have a way of explaining things so I can understand them. Whatever she told me, I tried to live by example by those words.
