I was astounded upon seeing the girl hug Boruto in front of everyone and Boruto never protested. This is the first time I have seen the girl.
"Hey..." Chocho nudges me on my side looking so worried. I look at her with shocked eyes and I gulp. My heart starts to beat fast.
"Do you have any idea who that girl might be?" she adds and switches her stares at them.
"I don't know. I have never seen her here," I respond. She is not wearing our school uniform I noticed.
"A transferee, maybe?" she shrugs and holds my hand. People around them start to buzz. Boruto and the unknown girl are talking and Boruto seems to be enjoying her company. Chocho and I are following them. When they reach the principal's office, the girl stops and waves at Boruto then she enters the room. Boruto walks in the direction of our classroom and we are still walking behind him.
While we are waiting for our teacher to arrive, Chocho is tapping on her phone and suddenly she cups her mouth in shock. I furrow my brows in confusion.
"Sarada, look!" she lets out a weak noise and appears to be in one of her social media. I read what's written on the post.
"Boruto's girlfriend pays a visit..."
It's from earlier. Boruto and the girl hugging each other was posted. It got over three hundred reactions and over two hundred comments and over a hundred shares in just fifteen minutes. He is damn popular!
"She's his girlfriend?" I mutter and Chocho's face saddens and immediately pulls back her phone. I think Boruto has no idea about what everyone talks about him. I look around and most of my classmates are whispering while gazing at their phones but nobody says it out loud nor confirms it from Boruto. I look at Tsubaki and see how she is annoyed by the news spreading across the platform.
I too feel like my chest is going to burst out. I don't know how to describe this feeling. Jealousy? Yes, that is.
"Good morning," instead of our History teacher, it is our class adviser who comes in. Everyone rushes to their seats when they heard her speak.
"Good morning," we greet back. She nods and speaks, "I know you're wondering why I am here instead of your History class teacher. She will come right after I finished my announcement.
"Announcement?" Chocho mutters and looks at me with twitching brows. I just shrug and sigh in response to her.
"I would like to introduce to you your new classmate..." she continues and my classmates begin to utter indistinct sounds.
Don't tell me it's...
She gestures to let whoever is outside come in but mind you, I have a bad feeling about this person. I think I already knew who it was. My intuition never fails me.
Then I think, the Earth is slowly revolving just like in slow-motion suspense movies. My eyes are fixated on the doorway nervously expecting someone to show up.
And my eyes open widely when I confirm that my hunch is right, it's always right. It's the girl from earlier. Boruto's rumored girlfriend.
Everyone's reaction is like (OoO) believe me.
"The girl from earlier..." Chocho mutters in disbelief.
"N-No way..." Tsubaki murmurs while her eyes circle like she has seen a ghost. Everyone knows Tsubaki has a crush on Boruto. Our chances to get noticed by him drop to zero. How tragic.
"Class, please welcome Sumire Kakei. Ms. Kakei is a transferee from abroad. Ms. Kakei, feel free to choose a seat and be friends with everyone, okay?" our adviser reveals, and that Sumire girl smiles sweetly at us.
"Oh gosh! She's a cutie..." I hear Iwabe daydreams about her.
"You are right but she is Boruto's-" Inojin was cut off when Boruto speaks, "Sumire, here..." he tells her to sit beside him. Oh no... I will be like (×~×)
Chocho presses me on my side I think I'm crying unconsciously but luckily not. Sumire sits beside him and they talk once she has settled down. My chest gets heavier than it was a few days ago.
Our adviser leaves the classroom and our History teacher replaces her and our lesson was not hampered anymore. I keep glancing at Boruto and Sumire and they sometimes talk to each other and smiles at each other in between their talks. This is too much to bear. My rivals are increasing. Now, I can say I have a low chance of winning. This is so sad.
"I think they are hanging out," Chocho states while unwrapping her burger. We are watching Boruto and Sumire eating and talking in the canteen. I sigh in a very depressing way. She notices my expression and taps my shoulders.
"It's okay, you know. I could be wrong too. There could be a happy ending for you two," she says and leans over my shoulder to mourn with me. I think my heart just died.
"That happy ending seems so far now," I say faintly. I have lost all my energy thinking Boruto has already someone he likes.
"Don't tell me you're giving up already?" she says then leaves from leaning on me. She gives me her pouty lips.
"I lost just now," I say in a downhearted tone.
"Come on, we can't give up just yet," she keeps cheering me up. I then remember the letter and bring it up to her.
"Did you give him the letter?" her brows furrow then looks away.
"Yeah..." she responds briefly and suddenly gets weak.
"So what happened? Did he accept it?" I keep asking.
"Yeah, he accepted the letter but not my feelings," she adds. Then I start to feel sad for her. Chocho's going through the same thing as I yet do not overreact.
"I'm sorry for asking," I feeble and holds her hand. She smiles bitterly at me.
"I have expected it so it doesn't hurt much. And as I have decided, I will wait for him unless a hottie comes my way," she jokes and I chuckle and sooner we laugh at her joke.
"I think there's no way I'm going to confess to Boruto. I already know what will be his answer," I say trying to smile and not to cry. It's embarrassing to cry in a crowded place.
"So, what about your letter for him?" she asks worriedly. I face her and respond, "I have to make sure that he won't get a hold of it. I will get it back from the jerk and keep it in the meantime." She nods and smiles.
"How I wish our feelings will be reciprocated in the end..."
"Kawaki, Sarada, follow me in the faculty room," our adviser says after our class. Our classmates start to chatter. Chocho worries as to why we are called to her office. I smile at her and when I am about to stand up the jerk suddenly walks past me and made me stumble back on my seat in surprise. Why has he got to be so rude?
I poutingly follow him outside. He walks ahead of me and now I am following him. He is walking while his hands are in his pockets. A long-distance separates us. He is not making any noise except our footsteps.
As we arrive, she gestures to us to get inside and he gets in first. What a jerk! I still don't look directly in his eyes he only reminds me of a horrible sight, you know.
"I'm afraid to announce Kawaki's results from your mock exams last week in front of the class so I want to be alone with you two," she starts. I wonder what happened to his results.
"Get it straight to the point," he demands like a boss. Could not he at least show some respect? She's our adviser. If only I can smack his head.
She clears her throat before speaking, "as per your result, you still haven't passed the Math and Physics subjects. I wonder what's wrong. I have provided Sarada as your tutor yet..." she reveals and I was like damn you jerk! You just wasted my time.
"Maybe, he doesn't like girls to be his tutor," I say and he looks at me. This time our eyes meet and I look away.
"Is that right, Kawaki?" our adviser wants to confirm.
"Nope, it's just that she talks very fast and I can't cope up with her," he defends and I'm like (O.O?)
"W-What? You know I explained everything you need to know," I explain and try to defend my side too.
"As I said, you talk very fast," he tells emotionlessly. He is lying. He was not paying attention that's all.
"Hey, stop lying!" I scowl at him and he is not looking at me.
"That's the truth," we start fighting and our adviser needs to stop us.
"You were not paying attention and that's the truth," I retaliate.
"Okay stop fighting. I have to resolve this right away..." she says and scratches her head.
"I think I need a new person to help you out Kawaki," she says and with all honesty, I feel relieved.
"No need for that, she is good she just needs to slow down when she speaks," he replies.
What the hell?!
"Are you sure?" she is confused by his response.
"It's better to assign someone else. Maybe he'll get progress if you will change the setup. I think I am not that effective tutor," I reason out.
"But he said you're good you just talk fast," she is now siding him.
"That's how I speak though," I keep pushing myself out there even though it's not true.
"Well, you can slow down a bit, and besides, Kawaki likes you as a tutor," she says while smiling. He likes pestering me that is...
I don't know what to respond to her now. The jerk likes to bug me with his annoying attitude.
"Okay, I'll give you two a second chance this coming pre-final examination. You need to pass to graduate, Kawaki. If this still won't work then there's a problem. That is final. You can leave now," she says and I pout in anger. He leaves the room without uttering a word nor says goodbye to our adviser. I bow and leave the room and follow him outside. I watch him walk away while I have my fists clenched. I want to punch his face. He doesn't want to leave me alone.
"Hey, jerk!" I call out to him. He did not respond and keep walking away.
"Hey, monkey face!" I yell and he stops. I run to his side and speak, "Why did you lie to her? Why did you have to lie that I talk fast though you know I don't?" He did not respond instead he turned to face me. His cold gray eyes greet me.
"You can have someone else to help you out. Why do you have to pest on me every time?" I aggressively tell him. I think I let out all the courage I have just to tell him that.
To my shock, he slams his hands on the wall pushing me back against it, and leaves me in between his arms. He moves closer to me, a few inches away from my face. My eyes glare at him reminiscing the night he stole my first kiss.
"Do you have any problem with that?" His husky voice echoes in my ear while his fierce gray eyes staring into mine.
"Did you forget that I have your little secret? You have agreed to my condition, right? You don't know me and you don't know what I am capable of doing..." he whispers in my ear and my knees tremble. What's wrong? I could not move and react. He is...
He is a monster!
