Kawaki's POV

The dazzling sunshine of the morning sun showers in the whole campus and the white adorable thing keeps his sleeping position on my lap.

I am witnessing how the sun lights down to Earth. I stopped by the rooftop and got to my favorite spot. Today is the school anniversary and I am here trying to be alone. I got on the campus early and I saw a lot of people who are busy with their booths and stalls. I stayed on the rooftop for almost an hour now.

I notice that the white-furred creature on my lap yawns and squints trying to look at what's going on around him. He looks up to me and I can't help but smile at him.

"You're awake, Kiwi. Look at the people roaming around," I tell him and he gestures like a human being and looks down at them. This cat is amusing.

I pet his smooth and beautiful white fur and he is loving it. I love how he gently pushes his head on my legs. He looks so cute when he does it.

Slowly, the crowd becomes bigger and bigger. A few people enter the campus wearing different uniforms from us. Outsiders.

I observe people going in and out of the gates. When you are in this spot, at the top of the water tank that is, you will witness the world underneath.

Meow... meow...

When I heard Kiwi make a sound I immediately look at him then he constantly meows at me and I realized that he is already hungry. He endlessly pushing his head on my lap.

"Wait here, I'll get you something to eat," I say and stand up. I make steps away from him without knowing that he is following me.

He makes a sound again and I can't help but stare back at him.

"Hey, stay here. I'll be back," I say to him and he sits down and looks at me like he is listening.

I stand up once again and walk off. I glance back and he doesn't move on his position. He will stay there and I don't have to worry. I completely leave the rooftop and I am heading to the oval for food. Even I have not eaten my breakfast yet.

This crowded place is suffocating. I don't like dealing with people who only appear to talk about stuff or other people. More likely criticize them. I found it boring and nonsense.

"Hey, that's the boy from Shoujo before, right?"

"Yeah, he got an expulsion notice for being a troublemaker,"

"Oh, poor him. He got to be sent to a not-so-popular school then. He deserves it by the way,"

This is what boring and nonsense are like to me. They don't even care if the person they are talking about is hearing them or not. Well, such people are not worthy of my time and attention.

I stop at a stall and buy some food. Food for me and Kiwi. When I turn to my right, I see the dork and her fatso friend at a dumpling booth. I ignore them and walk off the messy and noisy crowd. I head straight to the rooftop. I open the door and the gust of wind welcomes me.

"Kiwi," I call when I did not see him around. I climb up the tank and there are no traces of him. I look around the rooftop calling out his name but he is not coming out. What if he followed me earlier?

I leave the rooftop to look for him. I ask students in the building if they have seen a white cat around and sadly, they all shake their heads.

"I noticed a white cat running out of the building earlier," one of the students tell me. I nod as a response and leave. He might come back there.

So, I decided to return to the rooftop and wait for him up there. When I get there, the paper bag with food I bought a while ago was still there untouched.

I waited for him for like another hour but he hasn't shown up still yet. I worry he strays around the oval and someone picks him or beats him up.

I stand up and decide to look for him down there. I look for him at the oval. I search down the tables and chairs but no Kiwi appears. I murmur his name as I search for him hoping if he will hear my voice he will come running to me.

I tour around for like twenty minutes already but no signs of Kiwi. Where did you go Kiwi?

I happen to search for him around the campus. I went to look for him in the cafeteria but he wasn't there. I search behind the school buildings but still no signs of him. I am off to the school benches at the back of the Grade 8 building.

"This filthy cat snatches my food," I hear from the benches as I walk closer to the place. It might be Kiwi. I dash towards the voice and it reveals to me that a blonde bastard is grabbing Kiwi by his collar, the collar I made for him. He is with three other boys.

"Throw that cat away already," the other bastard says. Throw him away? How dare they?

"Let that cat go," I reveal myself and they all look at me.

"Huh?!" the blonde idiot utter while raising one of his brows.

"I said let go of him," I repeat and he chuckles.

"Wait, you are the famous kick-out from Shoujo if I can remember properly," the idiot says. I don't care about that.

"Yeah, that's him," the other idiot adds.

"Don't make me repeat or you'll regret it," I am pissed at these idiots.

"Why do you care so much about this filthy stray cat?" he arrogantly says and lifts Kiwi even higher and I can see how Kiwi winces because the collar is choking him. Kiwi struggles to let go of the idiot's cruel hand.

I walk closer to him. He and his group of dumb guys watch me as I fiercely stare at them. I immediately snatch Kiwi from his hand and free him. My poor Kiwi runs away.

"You arrogant bastard! You dare to act cool and mighty because this is your territory?" he utters in disgust but I did not waver despite his frightening face.

"This bastard got expelled from Shoujo maybe because of this kind of behavior," the other idiot says.

"Shut up bastard, your voice is annoying," I tell him. It's true though his voice is annoying.

"What did you say?" the blonde idiot enrages and grabs my collar. So, they want to start a fight?

"I said, you're ugly," I tell him and I can see how his face scowl at me. He is so pissed that he clenches his fist and punches me on my face. It was strong enough to make me stumble to the ground. It surprises me that he has a worse temper than I have.

But, I would not let him punch me without fighting back. I stand up immediately and get my revenge, a punch to a punch. He is thrown to the ground too.

"You bastard!" he squeals and he gestures to his dumb of friends. They surround me. So, it's four versus one, huh?

They hold me in both my arms to restrict my movements. I try to break free but they are strong enough for me.

The blonde idiot smirks at me and clenches his fists. The other idiots laugh foolishly. How pathetic.

"Let's test your arrogance here," the moron says while he keeps that annoying smirk on his face. I know he desires to beat me up because I have mocked him earlier. But, I won't step back that's not going to happen.

He is about to make his first move when suddenly a voice interrupts him.

"Hey, stop that!" all of us are surprised and glimpse at the owner of the voice.

It's the dork. What the heck is she trying to do?

"Oh? A girl?" the blonde moron insults as he chuckles.

"What are you doing to him?" she asks while she keeps her serious and calm voice.

"We are teaching him a lesson," the black-haired bastard replies to her. Her brows furrow.

"As far as I can recall, I am his tutor so leave him alone," she responds. What does she think she is doing?

"Sorry, miss. We can't allow that to happen," the blonde moron refuses.

"What are you thinking, dork? Go away, you have no business here," I tell her but she is stubborn I know. I doubt she'll listen to me.

"Let him go or I will call the guards," she tries to negotiate with them. The boys look at each other and the blonde moron makes steps towards her. She takes steps back. She aims to run away but the moron takes a hold of her.

"Let me go," she resists but the moron is strong enough for her.

"We can't allow you to get away and report to the guards until we get our revenge on that bastard there," he is referring to me. This dork makes things even worse.

"I said, let go of me," the dork repeats and keeps resisting. The moron is not allowing her to escape. The moron puts her hand behind her back and his arms around her neck. Suddenly, she bites his arm, and the moron shouts in pain. He makes her turn to face him and attempts on slapping her.

"You son of a-" he cuts his words and a slapping sound echoes in the area. He slaps her on her face. Even I is shocked when the moron did it. The dork falls to the ground cupping her face.

"You..." she mutters. The blush on her face reveals when she removes her hand from her face.

I don't know what happened to me. I just suddenly force myself to break free from these bastards and punch them on their faces. I finally escape and dash towards the blonde moron and punch his face. He stumbles to the ground while caressing his face.

"You bastard!" he fiercely yells at me then the rest of the morons capture me again. I resist but suddenly, the blonde punch me on my left and right face.

I can't avenge myself because my movements are restricted. The dork is yelling at them to stop but they are not listening at all. When he is about to attack again, I kick him on his right leg and he falls to his knees then the rest of the idiots try to attack me but I overtake them and I get to attack first before they can even land a hit.

The boys attack all at once and I stumble to the ground. They attempt to attack me again but suddenly a whistle froze them. The guards arrived.

"Stop that and come with us peacefully," one of the guards says and we all raise our hands to surrender.

"Come with us too, young lady," I hear the guard tell the dork. I glance at her and I see how she sadly agrees to them. The guards drag us all to the Counselor's office worst is we are even told to come to the Principal's room.

We are asked and interrogated by them. I have testified the truth. The boys did too and admitted that they have started the mess.

"Ms. Sarada, tell us what you have seen during the incident," the Principal tells her. The dork has stated what she has witnessed herself and after everything is settled we are free to leave the office and the boys are suggested to leave the campus. Their school principal has been sent a notice about the incident. It's up to them what will they do about their student's behavior.

I see how the dork panics after she looks at her watch.

"I need to go. I am thirty minutes late for the play," she says and leaves immediately. I watch her until her back completely fades away.

I think another trouble awaits us...

Sarada's POV

I dash towards the auditorium when I realized I am half an hour late for the play. I didn't know if the play got postponed because they waited for me or it was canceled or it went on without me. Damn it! I mutter in my head.

When I get there, the auditorium is full of people watching the play. The play went on and my role was...

My role was played by someone else. And the person who took over my role is none other than...

Sumire...

I think my world is crushed in a blink of an eye. All that I have worked for resulted in nothing. I gulp when everyone seems to enjoy the play. They are clapping their hands, overjoyed at the scenes in front of their eyes and I am here, at the back watching someone else play the role I have dreamed of for a very long time.

"Whoa! Nice play!"

"Great job!"

I hear the crowd shouts in joy after the play has ended. They loved it so much. They love the show that was supposed to be led by me. Chocho's right. I am the most unfortunate girl in the world.

"Sarada!" I hear someone calls out to me but I didn't bother looking who is it.

"Sarada!" I get back to my senses when I realized it is Chocho who is constantly calling out to me.

"Chocho," I mutter almost crying. Tears start to set in the corners of my eyes. She runs towards me and cups my face.

"What happened? Wait, what happened to your face?" she is so worried about me. I think she noticed the bruises on my left cheek. The auditorium empties as people start to leave slowly.

"Sarada," the President of the club sees me and approaches us. She too has a worried look on her face.

"Where have you been?" she asks twitching her brows. Some of the staff notice me too and move closer to us.

"Sarada, what happened?" this time it is our club adviser. I don't know what to tell them so I cry on Chocho's chest. My chest wanted to burst out since earlier. She rubs my back to comfort me.

"Sarada, come with me. Let's talk," the club adviser tells me. I nod and get up from Chocho's chest. I wipe my face with my hands and follow our adviser.

"Sarada!" Sumire runs in my direction looking all so worried. I just nod at her and leave to follow our adviser and the club President.

We enter the council room and the three of us settle down. The club President brings me water to calm me down.

"Sarada, tell us what happened why you didn't show up in the play a while ago," our club adviser starts. I breathe heavily before explaining. I tell them everything that happened earlier and I think they are satisfied with my explanation. A knock on the door interrupts us from discussing.

"Ma'am, there is someone who wants to talk with you," the Vice President shows up.

"Who is that?" she says furrowing her brows. The Vice President nods at someone and she opens the door to let that someone in.

To my surprise, the person who is trying to talk to our adviser is...

The jerk...

"You are?" the club President mutter while wrinkling her forehead.

"If I can remember correctly, we have met before, right? Don't you recognize him?" our club adviser tells the President. So they have met before...

The club President gestures like she is remembering a past event and she suddenly squeaks.

"Yeah, I remember him now. He was the one who appealed for Sarada's spot in the club," she says and I drop my jaw at what I have heard. It was him?

"Well, sit down gentleman. By the way, what is your name again?" our adviser talks to him and the jerk did not move in his position and keeps his pace.

"My name is Kawaki," he formally introduces himself. Our adviser nods and smiles at him.

"So you are the person Sarada was talking about who got into trouble and she tried to help with," the President of the club utters and the jerk nods.

"What are you going to talk with me?" our adviser asks.

"Maybe, you want to kick her out of the club because she missed the play today. I just want you to know it wasn't her fault. She was trying to help but it got worse than we thought," wait, is this the jerk I know? I haven't got over the fact that he was the one who appealed for my spot in the club yet. This jerk leaves me in shock for like ten minutes now.

"You don't have to worry about it. We understand and we don't blame Sarada for this. The play went well and the situation was unexpected. We won't kick her out of the club. She is one of our great potentials and we appreciate her talent so much," our club adviser says and it somehow lightens up my chest.

"Is that all that you need to talk about?" she adds and the jerk nods.

"Well, I guess we're all settled, you two can go now," the club president says and I stand up from my seat. We leave the room together and he is about to leave me behind when I speak to him, "Why did you do that?" I am eager to know why he did that. He was acting strange since before our pre-final examination.

"I don't want to hear your annoying voice when you start to blabber about how you hate me," he says and leaves me alone completely.

I don't know how to respond to that. I am left dumbfounded for a while. He puts his hands in his pockets as nothing happened. Everyone looks at him as he walks off of the auditorium.

Well, I think I hate you less at one percent just for today. What a grumpy jerk!

To be continued...
