I don't love this chapter but here it is. Please leave a comment if you enjoyed!

"That'll be £12."

Jem opened his wallet to get money out and immediately saw The £20 Note. He couldn't even think of using it, but he had it in his wallet for safekeeping (or emergencies if it came to it). It even had a bright pink Post-It generously donated by Tessa that said "DO NOT USE" in big black letters just in case.

He pulled out a £10 note and a £2 coin instead and gave it to the cashier, then took his lunch and found a seat nearby to eat. He had to go to class soon, but he at least had time to eat lunch before the lecture. Of course, that also gave him time to think about Hot Guy and his plan to find him again.

It had been almost two weeks since Hot Guy had (probably) accidentally given him a £20 tip when he was busking in the Tube station. So far, he'd gone back around the same time every day that he could to keep an eye out for him, but it was either too crowded most of the time or Hot Guy didn't use Blackfriars Station regularly like some people did. He hadn't seen him since and he was starting to think that Hot Guy had realized what had happened and was too embarrassed to go back. Of course, there was also the possibility that he thought Jem would be expecting another generous tip and didn't want to risk it, but Jem tried not to think about that. Hot Guy didn't really seem like that kind of person.

Jem was snapped out of his thoughts when Tessa dropped into the chair across from him with a sigh. "Why did I decide to study English, Jem? Please tell me because I cannot find a good explanation."

"Unfortunately for you, Tessa, I didn't know you before you came here and I can't tell you that. How was class?"

Tessa slid down in her chair even more and threw her head back to stare up at the ceiling. "Horrible. We're reading A Tale of Two Cities and this guy was arguing with the professor about Sydney Carton. I don't even think he's read the book because he sits next to me and he's never taken one note during class. All he does is read fanfiction or do anything he can that's not class-related."

"Have you talked to him if he sits right next to you?"

"I wish. It's bad enough that he's incredibly annoying but it's worse that he's probably the best looking man I've ever seen. No offense."

Jem laughed. "None taken, but if he's that good looking why don't you ask him out? Maybe you just don't know him well enough and that's why he's so annoying."

"I don't really think he's interested," Tessa said. "Apparently someone saw him making out with Magnus Bane in a closet a few months ago."

"Is that confirmed or just a rumor?"

"The same person also said that he's terrified of ducks and won't go anywhere near the pond in Hyde Park so I'm not entirely sure."

"Well, you should just try to talk to him," Jem said. "Maybe you two will be great friends if he's so passionate about book characters."

"Maybe," Tessa said. "We'll see."

. .HERONSTAIRS

"So you haven't seen him since that day?"

"No, Ella, I haven't seen him. You would know if I did."

"And how would I know that?"

"You would probably get a series of texts that consist mainly of random letters and then a phone call."

"Oh, yes, I should have known."

Will moved his phone to his other ear so he could tap his Oyster card and then walked through the gate. "I have to go now. I'm about to get on the Tube and if I don't hang up the call will drop halfway down the escalator."

"Ooh, looking for Hot Violin Guy again?"

"Wrong station," Will said, moving to the side to let a very rushed businessman pass. "Besides, he probably decided to just take the money and run. Not that I need it back, anyway. I just want his number."

"We'll see about that when you find him," Ella said. "Oh, I need to warn you. Dad has a meeting with someone at the London branch and he's bringing mum. They're going to stay for a few days and make a bit of a holiday out of it."

"And I suppose they're going to want to see me while they're here?"

"Well…" Will immediately did not like where this was going.

"Ella Herondale, what did you do?"

"I may have told them that they could stay at your flat so they don't have to pay for a hotel."

"And?"

"I may have also told them that I asked you if you were okay with that and you said yes?"

Will had to contain himself before someone called the police about a crazed man in the Tube station. "Every day I regret being born into this family just a little bit more."

"It'll be fine, Will. They'll probably be out doing touristy things the whole time. All you'll have to do is hang out with them for a few hours a day. You have class and homework so you'll be busy most of the time."

"You know mum's going to ask about him."

"Then you'd better find him, William. And find him fast. They'll be there a week from today. Also, Cecily said to tell you that she says hello and that she hopes you find your dream man soon."

"You too better start planning your funerals."

"I quite like daisies if you're going to get a wreath for my grave. I'll ask Cece what flowers she wants."

"Goodbye, Ella. Make the most of the time you have left," Will said, then immediately hung up before his sister could make him even more annoyed.

He got on the escalator, making sure to stand on the right side and cursing his parents for making him grow up with two sisters. His to-do list was just getting bigger and bigger. He had many, many assignments to complete or start, a parental visit to prepare for, and a Hot Violin Guy to find. Unfortunately, his brain could only focus on one thing at a time, and that focus was quite shoddy to begin with. This wasn't going to be easy. Trying to find one person in the entire city of London was a very daunting task, especially when he just knew his mother was going to be asking about Hot Violin Guy and his love life in general the whole time she was there.

He could even imagine her dragging him to Blackfriars station to look for him herself.

Will got to the platform just as the train pulled into the station. It was a bit crowded, so he had to move to the side to let people off before he could get on. As he waited, he felt something hit his leg and heard someone say, "Sorry." He looked up just in time to see a guy walking away with a violin case in his hand. He could only see the back of the guy's head, but something about him just seemed strangely familiar.

He couldn't wait for the guy to turn towards the exit to see his face, though. He needed to get on the train and go to the library to study. It was probably just some guy he'd seen a few times at school, anyway. Other guys didn't matter at the moment. There was only one man on his mind at the moment, and he was somewhere in this city.

Will just had no idea where.
