" I wish for you to believe me when I tell you I see myself as lesser than all life."
Vi looked up towards the shadow of a person standing there alone with her in the dark.
He stood over someone. She couldn't bare to look as if she was hiding from something.
" But I have manners." The dark spirit spoke, like a man, but his voice fragmented and muffled by years of inexperience in the human tongue, but clear enough for her to understand him.
When he looked at her, she was attracted by his violet eyes.
The energy. She was drawn to it, like all mortals would when facing something out of their understanding.
The shadow who seemed to look like a man shifted into the silhouette of many others in one second, child, woman, old and sometimes even a creature who terrified her.
When she could not bare that form, he changed again only this time into something easier to look at.
" You're not Vander." She said. She looked in the distance outside of the tunnel to where the fire burned the brightest.
The spirit walked by her side in the form of the man she called Vander and saw tears fall from her eyes.
" Who is that you are crying for?" The spirit asked.
She wiped her eyes.
" My little sister." She replied. The spirit's eyes glowed again although a dark presence entered he turned back and stared into the shadows.
Vi turned around and saw them.
Creatures in the dark, she knew them. Those hooded figures who lived in the darkest parts of Zaun.
Something was wrong with them. They did not seem like people and those eyes.
They entered deep into the tunnels and drew closer to them.
" Is she someone important to you?" The spirit asked. There was a sense of demand in his voice to the approaching guests.
He looked down to her and it demanded that she be still.
" Yes…" She replied and lowered her head, but she felt that he liked her answer, but Vi knew it was something else.
She could see that he enjoyed her more than her answer as if he was drawn to something.
" I would love to make you an offer." The spirit spoke. Vi could not understand what a spirit would want from her, but something made her listen in silence.
" I want your body." He whispered beside her. She froze upon his touch.
He was too close and it frightened her.
She looked down to the ring he wore, something about it was draining her energy and stealing something away, she tried to move away, but there was no energy.
" I can give you a chance to see her." The spirit whispered. She looked up to him and saw that he was staring down at the body below their feet.
And then he looked into her eyes.
" I-I would do anything…" She said, but there was hesitation, she could not bring herself to believe him, no matter if this demon spoke the truth.
How could she place faith in someone who she knew was using her.
The spirit raised her chin and moved closer to her, he was no longer Vander, but herself only a darker etiquette with violet eyes.
" How can I trust you?" Vi asked.
" Don't." The spirit replied immediately and then his hand drawn to her chin and he seemed to admire her.
" I only desire your body and nothing else."
When he saw her hesitant and unmoving the footsteps of people behind them broke her out of her thoughts and she heard them.
They stood beside them, but were unable to see boththem. They looked at the body of a girl and one of them kneeled and felt her pockets and another touched her.
" Hey! What the hell are you doing!" Vi angrily moved forward, but her fist went straight through the man and that terrified her.
The spirit was silent and stared at the one who played with her body.
" We are here to send her to the heap."
" Stop touching her!" One of the hooded men said.
But the man did not listen and moved in and squeezed her breast and drew out his tongue.
Vi was filled with so much anger and disgust it showed in her eyes as he abused her in front of her.
The spirit silently looked at her.
" And what?" The man replied. " We would never touch a woman in our life, what would it matter if she were dead."
" Come on guys, We've done this before."
" We can throw her after. She's still fresh."
There was a dark energy surrounding him, even his partners seemed to be shocked by his answer. They stared at him.
" They promised us shimmer. We can't. " One of them spoke out.
The man gnawed and grit his teeth, his eyes were wild and he looked at them.
" Then take the shimmer." He replied and he looked down at the girl.
" I don't want it."
The spirit looked at Vi who stared with rage and again.
He moved her attention from the man and drawed her to look up to him.
She did not like it, but when she felt his anger and his rage when he had touched her and it scared her.
" I will ask you one last time."
His ring glowed for a moment as if it sensed his will.
He held her arm.
" Stop… It hurts…." Vi said as the ring dimly glowed.
The spirit showed no sympathy for her pain as she fell to her knees.
The light slowly grew brighter and her pain became far worse.
" My body is being tainted at this very moment because you took your time to answer." The spirit glared down at her.
Vi looked up to him in pain.
The spirit smiled.
" I want your body." The spirit said as he looked detached and then he raised his eyes and looked at her with a very tired look on his face.
He had run out of patience.
" Because if you don't."
"…I will destroy you."
The ring glowed and Vi stared up to him, and saw his apathy through that kind exterior he showed.
It sickened her.
A scream roared out near them.
" Hey! Wait!"
" Stop!"
" Ah! Ah!"
Vi looked to her side to see the fiend who touched her begin to pounce and tear into his friends. He bent down and tore their throats with tears in his eyes and then after taking out the three men and tearing out their throats he faced them.
" P-please…" He bowed in pain.
" I-I didn't want to hurt them…" The man cried in agony as he looked to the others and held his heart.
The spirit let go of her and he walked behind the man.
" But you felt powerful." He whispered.
" I did…" The man replied, but then he gripped his head.
" No-no. I didn't do it!" He screamed towards the direction of his voice, but the spirit appeared right in front of him.
The spirit placed his hand on his shoulder and it soothed the man. And he relaxed into it.
The spirit looked satisfied and he reached out his hand.
And 3 purple capsules fell from his ring, below the man's feet. The man's eyes were focused on them and immediately he grabbed all three and looked around the tunnels anxiously shivering and the spirit spoke to him once more.
" Take it, This is all that you deserve." The spirit replied soothing his pain.
The man shook more and repeated what he said.
" Y-you're right, I-I… deserve… it." The lights in his eyes dimmed for a moment and then he smiled and just walked away, his eyes never leaving the purple capsules.
The spirit looked down to the dead who were brutally left behind. Although it was dark, their blood illuminated near him, violet mixed in with red and their darkened silhouettes on the ground.
He did not seem to care, but he did show a sad look on his face.
Vi was afraid again and the spirit smiled as he placed his hand on her shoulder and her eyes slowly dimmed upon touch.
He whispered in her ears.
" I feel you have made your decision."
" Yes…"
" It's…" She nervously tried to say something.
" It's okay, I'm here for you." The spirit held her hand and she looked confused for a moment.
She looked up to him and his form changed once more.
Vi smiled and reached out for his new face.
" Yes Powder, It's yours…"
The spirit looked at her with a gentle smile and kissed her forehead. Vi slowly closed her eyes and he rested her there and laid her down.
" Good-night, Vi."
And the spirit moved to the direction of the girl with pink hair who laid down beside the hooded men. A hole in her head, but that did not worry him.
He assumed the form of one of the dead people by her side and slipped into it like a new suit and he picked up her body and walked deeper into the tunnel.
The spirit looked down to cold body in his arms and brushed the small hole at the center of her head and sealed the flow of blood.
After minutes of walking out of the tunnel. He stepped into the bright night city of Zaun under a new guise of a young man with crimson eyes.
