Email Session #8

Camp Engano Resort, Phillippines…

The day for the Zaibatsu raid assault arrived, but the head of the Manji Clan did not go on this mission. Instead, Kunimitsu opted to stay behind because her husband was still recovering from his fight against a possessed Zafina. Zafina was no longer under Azazel's influence as she was also being monitored by the Tekken Rebels for irregular brain activity. She was sleeping quietly in her personal quarters. Kunimitsu and Raven were moved to another house so they could have more privacy.

Raven continued to rest for much of that day. Kunimitsu made small conversation with him through a late breakfast, but Raven was still in some pain because of his broken ribs healing back up. Karasu, their son, was on his own playing with toys while Kunimitsu would continue to catch up on her messages through the laptop.

Kunimitsu: "Well…I better turn on the live feed of the raid that's happening right now I guess. I'm sure they just started. Then I can look at the emails."

Turns on the feed from a Japanese news source…

Kunimitsu: "Wow! Look at them all go. The fighting is intense."

Looking at her mail…

Kunimitsu: "I better see what the fans have been asking me."

Email #1: "Kunimitsu! How are you this week?"

Kunimitsu: "I am just fine. Thank you for your concern."

Email #2: "Is the Manji Village doing okay?"

Kunimitsu: "Yes. Everything is good at the village."

Email #3: "What was your reaction to the death of Heihachi Mishima?"

Kunimitsu: "It was shocking to me! And the person who did it was an even bigger shock! The invincible Heihachi Mishima now gone! Just like that? And now his wife wants to the blow the planet up, to start over or something. Like she is nuts! If it weren't for my husband's injuries I would be out there too in that raid. The world has its problems, but it's not worth wiping out mankind over it!

Email #4: "Can you tell us your whereabouts? Are you still at the Manji Village?"

Kunimitsu: "I can't say where I am. But the village is just fine."

Email #5: "Will you ever take off that fox mask?"

Kunimitsu: "Do you want a blade down your throat?!"

Email #6: "Did you know Yoshimitsu was spotted in Germany recently? He was collecting the remains of a G Corp experiment called Gigas. By the time German Special Forces arrived at the scene, Yoshimitsu fled away. Your thoughts?"

Kunimitsu: "What? Why was Yoshimitsu in Germany? Collecting pieces from a being called Gigas. He must be using the technology to enhance himself somehow. Whatever. The clan belongs to me now. We have moved on from him. If he tries to attack me or my clansmen for any reason, I will not back down."

Email #7: "I heard that your clan destroyed a Zaibatsu base not too long ago. Is that true?"

Kunimitsu: "We only did that because the Zaibatsu threatened to take over my village. Nothing more."

Email #8: "Have you ever tried making a lightsaber?"

Kunimitsu: "No. Why?"

Email #9: "Which is the better noodle recipe. Lo Mein or Ramen?"

Kunimitsu: "I like ramen. Easier to cook."

Email #10: "Do you think there will be another King of Iron Fist Tournament after Heihachi's death?"

Kunimitsu: "I hope not to be honest. I think the world has suffered enough."

Email #11: "How old is your son now?"

Kunimitsu: "My son is two years old."

Email #12: "Kunimitsu what do you do when you are in fear of your life?"

Kunimitsu: "If my life is in danger. I retreat obviously, but fear can bring out the worst in people. As a leader of the Manji Clan I can't back away from challenges anymore. Otherwise I am setting a bad example for my clansmen to follow."

Email #13: "When will do a live stream again?"

Kunimitsu: "Again with this question?"

Email #14: "What will your clan do after this war is over and we survive this missile crisis somehow?"

Kunimitsu: "I think we will help the poor of Japan and anyone who requests our aid throughout the world with the necessary foods and supplies they need after the war ends. The coming days will be very busy for us, but I think we can make it easier for everyone that needs help."

Email #15: "Are non-Japanese welcome in your village?"

Kunimitsu: "Of course. You will be surprised to see how diverse our village is."

Email #16: "Is there anything you hate about being a ninja?"

Kunimitsu: "At this point in my life, being a ninja is amazing!"

Email #17: "Are you participating in the assault with the Tekken Force rebels?"

Kunimitsu: "I was going to, but I changed my mind because of my husband's injuries. No matter what happens, I will be with my family."

Email #18: "Did you hear that the world could end with this missile launch barrage coming from the Zaibatsu? I'm really scared!"

Kunimitsu: "Just relax. I have faith my allies. They will stop that mad woman from getting her way."

Email #19: "Kunimitsu, I want to hear another haiku freestyle! Please?! With sugar on top!"

Kunimitsu: "With sugar on top? You are a strange one. Anyway. Here you go. It's Monday morning. My coffee maker is broke. This is some bullsh*t!"

Email #20: "Kunimitsu, can fat people become ninjas or do I have to lose weight?"

Kunimitsu: "I have yet to encounter an overweight ninja. Or clan does provide a workout regimen for overweight people. Take this link here and see if you have what it takes to get in ninja shape. I wish you luck."

Kunimitsu looks at the live stream to see more chaotic scenes of the assault…

Kunimitsu: "Just awful." (Seeing the dead bodies of G Corp, Rebel, and Zaibatsu soldiers.)

Email #21: "I am having trouble with my smartphone. I hear the Manji could fix cell phones at a cheap rate. What is the address for the Manji Clan Cell Repair Shop?"

Kunimitsu: "Here you go." (Give the address to the sender.)

Email #22: "Have you figured out how Kazumi Mishima came back from death?"

Kunimitsu: "I really can't say, although my old clan member did use to tell me as a child about reincarnation spells. I'm not sure if that is how Kazumi came into the living world."

Email #23: "Maybe when all of the violence is over, do you think there will be a video game based on the King of Iron Fist Tournament?"

Kunimitsu: "Ugh. Anything that glorifies the might of the Mishimas should not be in any video game. No thanks!"

Email #24: "Kunimitsu, what color panties are you wearing today?"

Kunimitsu (Sighs.): "Blocked!"

Email #25: "What is your son doing? Is he alright?"

Kunimitsu: "My son is playing and still watching television." (Stops typing.) "In fact, let me check on him."

Sees Karasu is still watching cartoons on the TV…

Kunimitsu: "Good. He's fine."

Comes back…

Email #26: "Kunimitsu, what is your favorite clothing department store?"

Kunimitsu: "Hmmm…I don't really have a favorite. Ninjas don't really frequent shopping malls. But I do like wearing T shirts from Uniqlo sometimes. They feel so nice on my body and it dries quickly in hot weather. Don't know if you are near a store like that. They sell some good things at times."

Email #27: "Kunimitsu if I said something naughty to you will you come and punish me?"

Kunimitsu: "No. If you were a real threat to me, I would simply send my clansmen to go and kill you. Not wasting my time on a nobody."

Email #28: "I love you from the bottom of my heart! If the world is going to end soon! At least allow me to tell you that!"

Kunimitsu: "Wow! Uhhh. Thanks!"

Email #29: "Are you worried that Kazumi Mishima could kill the Manji Clan if they survive the missile launch attack?"

Kunimitsu: "I won't let that woman get the chance to kill us all. Whether we relocate or stay home and fight. We will a find a way to get rid of her and send her back to the underworld. Rest assured."

Email #30: "When will you get back into fighting tournaments?"

Kunimitsu: "Who knows? I have my role as a ninja leader now. So it won't be that simple to do a fighting tournament."

Email #31: "Kunimitsu how much are your fox masks? I would like to buy one please!"

Kunimitsu: "Our village makes masks at our thrift store. Here is the link." (Sends the link.)

Email #32: "Would it be too much to ask if you were able to steal money from my old job. They never treated me fairly and I want them to suffer for their bullying! I will wait for your response."

Kunimitsu: "Well…it's been a while since I took robbing jobs. But us Manji can still do that type of work under the right price of course. Come back with another email to name your price. Then we can talk more about this."

Email #33: "How do ninjas jump so high in the air? I never understood that about you guys. What is your secret?"

Kunimitsu: "Well if I told you here, then it would no longer be a secret now would it?"

Email #34: "Word from the IOC says that the Summer Olympics are now cancelled because of the war. What are your thoughts?"

Kunimitsu: "Well that is unfortunate. Not a big sports person, but I do feel bad for the competitors who wanted to take part in such an event. It must feel bad."

Suddenly, Kunimitsu hears Raven yawning from the bed…

Kunimitsu (Turns around): "Raven? Where are you going?"

Raven (Mumbles): "Gotta pee."

Kunimitsu: "Oh."

Finally, the live stream Kunimitsu was listening to started getting louder…

An announcer from the Japan News Live channel was calling the action taking place at the Zaibatsu Tower. Somehow, Jin Kazama had confronted Kazumi Mishima along with a few other Tekken fighters in order to stop her from exterminating the entire planet with the nuclear missile launch. Kunimitsu looked on in bewilderment as Kazumi took Jin by surprise and dragged him into a portal while two girls chased after them. Then the portal shrunk and disappeared from the view of the Central Tower rooftop. Kunimitsu was at a loss of words. And yet the struggle to save the world was not over.
