This is a one-shot I wrote just to celebrate the 99th birthday of James Buchanan Barnes.

The Winter Soldier had to save him . . . but why? This man was a target, not a friend . . . but he couldn't let him die.

The Winter Soldier makes a mistake by going after the Black Widow instead of finishing off Steve Rogers. By doing so, it's a cat and mouse game, frustrating the Winter Soldier, and eventually making him wonder who he really is in the end. This story take place when Steve and Natasha battle the Winter Soldier on the highway in CA2.

Just a short tidbit I experimented with a while back.

Set post CA:TWS, taking some liberties with the timeline and details of events in the Marvel universe. I wrote this a couple of years ago, but I'd always been wanting to post it; so here it is...dedicated to Shadows of a Dream, because her writing was a huge part of what inspired me to write my Captain America fics.

After years of searching, Peggy Carter finds her beloved husband frozen in the ice.

I looked at his face. His eyes were frozen open in a stare of shock, of loss, of betrayal. I leaned in a put my ear next to his mouth. I waited. I waited for a breath. I felt none. (Based on the CA: CW trailer rumors. I'm sorry. I had to.) Rated T for minor violence and blood. No language.

When Corporal Steve Rogers, a shy cartographer and translator, was reassigned to serve in the 2nd Armored Division, he for sure didn't expect his commander to be a woman. And for sure he then didn't expect that woman to be an utter badass. Fic inspired by the 2014 movie "Fury".

Steve's newly thawed out and not quite so keen to jump into another war. Instead, he wants to take time and immerse himself in the new world he woke up to. After a long chat with Tony Stark, Steve decides that college is the way to go about that.

In October of 1929, the stock market crashes, ushering in the Great Depression. In November of 1929, Steve Rogers knocks on Bucky Barnes' door, looking for work.

At the end of "Captain America: Winter Soldier," Steve fell from the helicarrier into the water. He wakes up, however, in an alternate universe where he and Bucky are dating.

Bucky loves his job at the animal shelter, but he's not so good with people. His boss Nick wants him fired, he's barely scraping by on his salary, and don't even ask about his family. Steve wants to adopt a dog for company. Will either of them find what they're looking for? Stucky, angst and puppies.

[Steve/OC] With SHIELD's corruption slowly being revealed, Maria slowly finds out new things about her past, both horrible and shocking ones. Steve struggles to grasp the fact that Hydra is back while Maria struggles to keep their relationship working.
