Just an Ordinary Day
My crazy day started when I was late to breakfast Tuesday morning. I woke up at 6:45am exact. By the time I reached downstairs my brothers were out the door rushing to catch their bus. I, on the other hand, was trying to find something to eat, but when you live with three older brothers' food is scarce. The bus honked its loud and annoying Beep, Beep! I'm coming, I'm coming I said to no one in particular. The minute I ran outside I realized that I forgot my school project in my room. By the time I retrieved my project the bus was a mile away. So being the sturdy girl that I am, I walked to school. While I was walking dark clouds appeared over my head, soon enough it started to rain. By the time I got to school I was soaked and so was my project.
Eventually lunch came. I usually like lunch, but this time I dreaded it. Why? Because I forgot my lunch money. So I sat down and waited for lunch to be over.
After six long and nerve racking periods seventh period came, and seventh was my English period that I was required to turn in my project. I turned in my project and peeked to see my teacher's face when she saw it. Her face was peculiar, a mixture of disgust, mad, and even a little disappointed. Uh, it's a long story I said to my teacher when I saw her face. She just gave me the look.
After seventh period was finally over I rushed to the bus, so wouldn't miss it again. But Jane, a girl in my class, reminded me that I had promised to clean Mr. Johnson's board. Reluctantly I left the bus, forgetting my backpack on the bus, and went to his room. When I walked in I mumbled an apology and went to work. First the erasers. I said to myself. I walked outside and started smashing them together like cymbals, getting me covered in chalk dust. When I went back inside I saw that Mr. Johnson wasn't there. Being the nice girl that I am I decided to do Mr. Johnson a favor by cleaning his dirty tile floor. So I got out the bucket and went into the girl's restroom. I put the bucket under the sink and turned the water to hot and let it run for a while. When I saw it was at the very top, I turned the faucet off and went off to Mr. Johnson's room. Splashing water everywhere I went, I finally made it. After I cleaned his room I nodded my head in satisfaction and went on my way, leaving huge puddles of water and soap bubbles everywhere around his room. By the time I was finished the bus was long gone, so again I had to walk all the way home.
Once I reach home, I said to myself, I will have a huge after school snack and relax. I walked in my house expecting to see my after school snack waiting for me, but, of course, I didn't. Instead of seeing my snack I saw crumbs. My brother's strike again I said to myself. I decided that a snack could wait and reached for my backpack only realizing that it wasn't there! Great, just great I said out loud. Well my mother told me that there is a good side to everything. I thought about this for a moment and realized what the good thing is to this situation I don't have to do my homework! Excited at the thought I ran to the den to watch TV. And that is the end of my crazy, ordinary day.
