Vladimir woke up feeling excited for the day. he was going to the wizarding world for the first time. his father was ready and once he had eaten breakfast he met him in the entrance hall. "we shall be traveling shadow to the alley. their we shall get the remainder of you stuff as well as the vaults left by my friends." they landed outside a pub, his father having put up an umbrella for the trip with a big hat.
"Vladimir you will need to tell me where the pub is, it is called the leaky cauldron if the information from yesterday is correct." Vladimir nodded as he spotted the pub his father had said with a sneer. he dragged his father there bracing for the entrance. entering was a shock to his system. so many wizards and witches were dotted about in the gloomy building that looked as if it could collapse. they gingerly walked about the place looking for the entrance until a man stopped them . " oh are you new here my name is tom and I can let you through into the alley. this way". he grabbed an tugged them into the back of the pub and into a area fit for dumpsters. he then preceded to tap the bricks in an obvious order according to him and the bricks moved.
the bricks moved revelling diagon alley. the shops glimmered in the light as parents and children wondered about doing their shopping for school. the students were hovering mostly around a place for 'quidditch supplies' whatever that was. his father was heading to a grand building at the end of the alley. when approaching the steps their was an inscription (you will read it enough in your life to never want to again so I spare you). at the top of the steps their were guards, goblins, who were surveying the entering wizards and witches with a look of disdain. on reaching the top the guards lifted their pikes and banged them on the floor as a sing of respect while bowing to his father. His father returning the courtesy entered before whispering to Vlad.
"they respect power, especially that gained in war and effort, and I have killed my fair share of breathers as well as having worked with a some goblins before when they came across a few vampire relics." before straitening up and heading to the front tellers desk.
" i would like to withdraw money form my account as well as an inheritance test as a few dearly departed friends have left the majority of their vaults including titles to my son." the goblin smiled when peering at him, and indicated for them to follow him to a separate room where a different goblin sat. the room was an office at appearance with what looked to be a box were items and paperwork were transported from. the goblin placed paper and knife in front of him with a simple instruction "prick your finger and place 3 drops of blood on the parchment". following the instructions immediately as not to annoy the presumably angry goblin he dropped 3 drops of and watched in fascination as words began to form.
name: Vladimir Andrea Dracula
lord:
the most ancient and most noble house of Gryffindor
the most ancient and most noble house of Slytherin
heir:
the most ancient and royal house of Dracula
"you are the lord of 2 of the founder houses? how?" "simple my friend Godric had a seerer friend called Rowena or something who said to leave his stuff to my son, his husband done the same. they gave their family the heir titles and some money and heir looms but the rest was left to my vladdy, including lordships".
"well" the goblin recovered from shock well "let me get the rings and they should except you, you should then go to their vaults to see if they left anything for you specifically like familiars or paintings." the goblin returned and passed each ring to him which he slipped onto his left index finger. the free came together and his father instructed him on how to hide the ring. the group left to go to the vaults while Vlad asked one final question "may i know your name?". "why yes my name is ragnarock the king of goblins" the goblin then chuckled at the sight of his eyes expanding to the size of saucers.
a new goblin called griphock took them down into the vaults. after a quick stop getting money out of the Dracula vault as well as a few heirlooms the count wanted Vlad to take to school with him they went to his lordship vaults, conveniently across the platform. entering he found piles of gold jewellery and books that were probably so rare they were legend. a cough interrupted his aw as he turned to a painting. it contained two men who he had never seen before. the two men were handsome and it was clear who the vampire had been.
"why hello their you must be the boy my friend talked about, the son of my friend, where is he" his father came into view and they started to chat while his husband, talked to him. "well young heir you should touch these two heirs and they shall give you familiars. then you should take some of the jewellery it is enchanted to protect you and don't worry safe for vampires." he giggled at the last part. Vlad followed the mans instructions and he eggs cracked revealing two creatures.
"ah a dragon basilisk and a shadow griffin. i recommend you take the book on that pile, no a little left, that's it, and read up on them. don't worry though they can't kill anyone without you being in danger and then mostly at your command." Vlad retrieved the two familiars and put them in a basket by the eggs and turned to his father and Godric. they were staring back at him with something akin to pride. " oh little one my name is Salazar and we have been speaking parsletounge the whole time". they said goodbye and took the trolley back to the surface, but not after having been persuaded to grab a chocker and putting it on. apparently it would protect him from sunlight when the time came and hide his identity for those who he did not want to know as well as protect his mind from manipulation and compulsions. he was a little worried though wearing it as it was meant for girls but he put that aside as it sat comfortably on his neck. it was very gothic.
next they went to a shop to continue their school at a book shop called flourish and blotts. the shop was decently packed but his father quickly located his books from a pile labelled first year, and dragged him to the checkout. while his father paid he found a section on magical creatures and started to browse. a book on vampires he found on the bottom shelf. he flipped to a random page and what he read made him laugh. it was ridiculous what they thought they knew. this books would make even some of the most stubborn vampire laugh at he tales and 'facts' listed.
he went to the front if the shop and re-joined his father as they left for the apathy care. his familiars having been transported home already by shadow. collecting the first year kit they paid and left heading home.
once home he found a trunk and started to pack the clothes while leaving the books ready for him to read. this was going to be an exciting holiday and his birthday was coming up so it would be interesting to see what he got. maybe even a wizarding gift. well after his birthday on the 31st of July he would need entertainment until school started and no point in not being prepared, especially if it stopped his father teaching him himself.
falling asleep he dreamed of what life could now be like, maybe even a cure for vampirism or even new alternatives. a smile on his face as dream took him.
