So here is a new chapter. I'm slowly going to try and get back into the swing of things. November should be easier because I don't have to drive an extra 50 miles a day ferrying my mother from work.
We shall see how it goes but I'm being hopeful.
Disclaimer: I do not own RWBY nor Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger.
Qrow sat next to Winter, Glynda, and James. However, they all sat away from Ozpin who was sitting close to Salem. The two weren't speaking to one another but they seemed to at least tolerate each other. "So the kid's name here is Marvelous?" Qrow snickered. "Who the heck named him?"
"Nobody knows, probably his parents," the Curator replied. "Although the only background we get about him is about his mentor. So truly who knows."
"And I'm assuming these teens are some sort of...criminal group?" James asked. He had dealt with his fair share of pirates before. Most were bloodthirsty and greedy.
"Yes. They don't hide that fact at all. However, they are against the Schneeyack Empire. An empire that takes over planets and enslaves the masses. These pirates aren't for the world but they aren't for the Schneeyack." The alternate version of Jaune looked at him. "Which would you prefer? Just a group of five pirates or a galaxy-spanning empire of evil?"
"So, my family here is evil?" Winter asked, surprised. She truly didn't expect that.
"Your brother and father are. You and your sister don't exist. Your mom is dead but she was wholeheartedly in agreement with their plots." That did not soothe the specialist in the slightest.
The scene opens up to the interior of the ship seen in the preview, the Gokai Galleon. Neptune was pressing various buttons on a console. On a large screen in front of them, a map formed, with the words on it being illegible to viewers.
"I take it that's an alien language?" Salem asked. She was being cordial, to say the least, and Ozpin was unsure how to take that.
"It is but everyone is technically omniglots," the Curator responded. "So it makes things easier on them when they go from planet to planet."
"Seems like the Schneeyack Empire has stationed its command vessel and fleet between the Earth and its moon," he sighed. Emerald and Penny were sitting behind him at the table, with Penny drinking tea. The green-haired girl rolled her eyes.
"Earth?" Glynda asked. "I take it that's what Remnant is in that universe?"
"No," the Curator replied. "Remnant is a world here. I am not sure if any of them are from there though. Earth tends to play a pivotal role in other multiverses."
"Other Multiverses? You mean like subsets right? LIke that Saiyan one and the Kamen Rider one?" Qrow asked as he drank his smoothie.
"Again, no. Other multiverses," the Curator answered. Those in the theater heard this and were confused. Although Salem and Ozma had an inkling of what was going on.
"I take it this is a tale for another time?" the headmaster asked, getting a nod from the man who ran the theater. Salem hummed understanding completely. It seems that the reality they knew was much larger than they thought.
"Man, they are dead set on invading this place," Emerald said.
"What to do? What to do? What would you do?" a mechanical bird asked. This being was Navi, one of Jaune's oldest confidants.
"What is a bird doing there?" Glynda said aloud.
"Its voice is rather annoying," Qrow agreed.
"Kind of like yours when you change into one," Winter joked. This caused others who knew him to laugh.
Penny sighed as she sipped her tea. "I wonder if the peaceful lifestyle of this planet's people will be secured," she wondered. Setting the cup of tea down, Penny frowned. "It truly is troubling."
"She seems to be more in tune with herself in this one," James smiled happily. To see his ward being consistently shown in a positive light was a good feeling.
"The people who live here can worry about it," Ren said from his spot on a couch. He was playing solitaire and seemed close to winning. Emerald nodded as she walked to the footstool across from him and sat down.
"Mr. Ren seems rather callous here," Glynda commented. "As is that version of that Emerald girl."
"She's already callous," Salem told her. "But she's lighter here. Which is strange."
"I believe it is because they don't come from that world," Ozpin guessed. "They had no stake in this whole thing."
"True, they are only there for some treasure," Qrow agreed.
"He's right!" Emerald said as she crossed her legs. "We need to focus on how to find that treasure." The smile on her lips vanished as she remembered the previous day. "We got caught up in that fight, so the Empire is going to be watching out for us." Slyly, she reached over and flicked some cards out of order. Ren's eyes widened as he reached out to stop them from scattering.
"She's such a bitch," Qrow chuckled.
"It's still odd seeing the students in a role like this," Glynda said. "Despite the fact they are pirates, they seem rather close...like a family."
Loud footfalls came from the stairs as Jaune came down. "I guess we better hurry up and find the treasure and sail off from this rock as soon as possible," he said, scratching his head.
Glynda frowned. "What's wrong?" Winter asked her friend.
"Seeing Mr. Arc like this is truly odd. Even when he was bullied, Mr. Arc stepped in and saved his tormentor. Seeing him not caring like this is odd," the teacher replied.
Turning his head to Navi, he yawned. "Hey, bird. Do your prediction."
"I'm not a bird! I'm Navi!" she responded. It shook as its head turned frantically, and flapped its wings. Jaune wasn't amused at this and poked the top of her head.
"Just hurry up."
"Not gonna lie, I like him," Qrow smiled. "Reminds me of a young me."
"From what little I have seen of you, that sounds rather unsavory," Salem taunted. Getting a snort from Winter and a cough from Glynda, both of whom were hiding their smiles. James didn't agree and frowned, not liking that they agreed with the enemy. Ozpin kept quiet.
The robotic bird chirped before nodding. "Okay!" Navi's eyes began to shift colors, and she lifted her wings before making her announcement. Everyone gathered around Jaune's captain's chair to watch the spectacle. "Let's go! Treasure Navigation!" Steam began to shoot out of its bottom, only to have enough force to lift Navi off the captain's chair and slamming into the ceiling.
Stars began to circle her head as she made a prediction. "A person in black will provide the information you need…" Navi started to descend in a dazed fashion before landing back on top of the chair. "Or something like that."
"What sort of prophecy is that?" Ozpin asked. His eyes squinting as he repeated the literal single sentence prophecy.
"That is worse than some of the prophecies I've ever heard," Salem groaned and rubbed her eyes. "And I've known Tyrian for a long time."
"What does that even mean?" Ren asked.
"It's so vague," Emerald pouted.
"It's not like we have any other leads," Neptune sighed.
"Black clothes is a start," Penny smiled. "I wonder what kind of person they'll be."
"How did a girl like her end up with a group like these?" Winter asked. Penny did seem to not belong with the other four.
The scene changes to them walking down into an outdoor plaza, acting very much like tourists on this planet. Then again, they did just announce to the world that they're here for a treasure the previous day and that they were aliens. Although the people of this planet didn't seem to freak out, as if this was just another day, well, until the Schneeyack attack, of course, then the humans had a glimpse of what the group of people can do and were at ease.
"I take it these Earth people are used to this?" James asked.
"A little. This is the sister multiverse of the Kamen Rider one," the Curator replied. "And these are even more used to a large monster and alien invasions. While it's still scary, they are used to this sort of thing."
"We should find a place where a lot of people gather," Emerald suggested as she looked over a railing to a floor below.
"Black clothes, black clothes, black clothes," Neptune repeated as he swiveled his head to and fro. His eyes caught someone with a black coat and pointed. "I found one!"
But he wasn't the only one to speak. Emerald and Penny had also pointed at people. "What?" the trio said at the same time before they noticed that there were a lot of people dressed in black in the area. From leather jackets to school uniforms to nuns, there were a lot of people dressed in the color black.
"That is why that prophecy is the worst thing I've ever heard," Salem pointed at the screen. "Someone wearing black can be anyone."
"It seems like everyone is wearing black today," Penny told Jaune. He rolled his eyes and leaned against the railing.
"What the heck is this?" he said to himself with a bemused smile.
"It seems that the kid is taking this in stride though," Qrow stated.
"Excuse me! You guys are those space pirates, right?" a voice from the bottom floor called out.
"Who wants to know?" Jaune replied, not looking at the person.
"I know something! About the Greatest Treasure in the Universe!" the person shouted. Everyone turned to see a boy dressed in a black school uniform. He was on a bike and seemed like he had just come from school. It was none other than Oscar Pine.
"That child seems to appear often," James uttered. "Winter, make note of him."
"Yes sir," Winter nodded her head. Ozpin frowned, remembering that he had met his future incarnation. It seemed that he would be entwined in their lives sometime in the future. Which would mean he would be dying sometime soon.
"He is wearing black…" Emerald mumbled. "Do you think it could be him?"
The scene changed to them walking with the student at the docks. They had followed Oscar here. "You space pirates were amazing!"
"You saw the action from somewhere?" Jaune coolly asked. His arms were crossed over his chest as he followed the boy, walking behind everyone else.
"That seems to be his default stance, arms crossed over his chest," Ozpin stated. "I wonder why?"
"To look cool obviously," Qrow snorted.
"That's right! I saw you guys all turn into the various Super Sentai!" he said happily.
"Super Sentai?" Winter repeated. "I take it the second word means something?"
"It translates to task force," the Curator replied. "So they are a super task force."
"And given that it's the "sister" of the Kamen Riders as you said, they have some sort of suits?" James asked.
"Oh definitely." The Curator looked fondly at the screen and chuckled. "Very snazzy suits."
"So they can transform into other groups of heroes? Interesting," Ozpin stated before sipping some coffee.
"Super Sentai?" Emerald shared a look between the other three before looking back at Oscar. "What's that?" Jaune narrowed his eyes as he listened to the boy.
"Wait. You don't know who they are?" Oscar gasped. "Goranger, Shinkenger, Magiranger...they are all legendary heroes from Earth!" Jaune reaches into his pocket upon hearing this.
"I wonder how they got the powers from another world?" Glynda said as she tried to think of how these twenty-something looking aliens got those powers.
"It didn't show but this isn't the first time the Schneeyack had attacked the Earth. But the 35 Super Sentai teams sacrificed their powers to drive back the invasion force. Jaune's master collected the powers."
"And the boy inherited it somehow," Salem spoke, thinking to herself if she can somehow do the same with Maiden powers for ease of access.
"You mean these, huh?" Jaune asked as he produced three red figures from his red coat pocket. Each one was stylized differently than the other, making them very distinct. One had a spade on its helmet, the other looked like a samurai, and the last one had a bird on its top. Oscar meanwhile smiled.
"Those look rather childish," Winter scoffed. "Why do they look like that?"
"Would you believe me if I say they give hope mostly to kids and young teens than adults?" the Curator sheepishly answered.
"So the designs of their suits…" Qrow stated.
"Are to put children at ease, yes. The villains they face, not so much."
"So, these are the powers of the people who protected Earth?" Penny said, surprised. She turned to see Jaune walk forward.
"So what about the treasure?" the blond said, cutting to the chase.
"He really doesn't care about the world does he?" Glynda frowned. She sighed and shook her head. All the good ones they've watched were very sympathetic. This one just doesn't seem heroic at all.
"Oh, that uh…" Oscar stuttered. His eyes scanned the docks for a moment as he replied.
"That punk is up to something," Qrow grunted.
"Obviously," Salem nodded her head. "He's going to try and steal the keys."
"Before that, why don't you let me take a picture of you, Marvelous was your name, right?"
"Will they be calling him that the entire time?" Ozpin asked with a smile on his face. "Because I for one will be annoyed if I was called that daily."
"Agreed," James nodded his head.
"Please," Qrow laughed. "Being called marvelous every time would be fucking great."
"So childish," Winter and Glynda said at the same time.
"What's that all about?" Jaune asked suspiciously. Oscar pulled out his phone and continued to smile.
"To make a memento of our meeting," the young teen replied. That caused Ren to shift slightly. "Do you mind posing as if you were about to transform?" He put away two of the keys, leaving the samurai one. Jaune placed his feet shoulder length apart and held his hand out with the key. "Yeah, just like that! Hold out the key more!"
This time it was Emerald who shifted, watching the boy closely. Oscar walked forward, holding his phone out. "Okay, I'm going to take it now!" The brown-skinned boy was barely two feet away when he tried to grab the key.
"What an obvious ploy," Glynda stated, shaking her head. "He could have asked to see it personally before running off. School children could do better."
"He is a schoolboy," Salem replied. "So do give him some credit."
Jaune, however, pulled back and grabbed his wrist. "Nice try, kid," he scoffed. Both Penny and Neptune were shocked, not having expected to see that. Jaune meanwhile put Oscar in a headlock. Emerald shook her head, and Ren crossed his arms.
"So the naive ones of the team are Ms. Polendina and Mr. Vasilias, while the ones who experienced the world are the other three?" Ozpin guessed.
"Well, they have all experienced the world in their own ways. But Emerald, Ren, and Jaune have been hardened differently than those two," the Curator said.
"What's the big idea? Answer me!" Jaune demanded.
"Let me go. Let go of me!" Oscar struggled. Jaune did as the boy asked for, which caused Oscar to bump into Neptune. "How am I supposed to know where the treasure is, dumbass!"
"He does have a point, how would a child know about something big like that," James said. "That was illogical of them to think of Mr. Pine being the one to lead them to their treasure."
"I guess that was all they had to go on," Winter sighed.
Getting on his bike, Oscar rode away. "You just get here, and people try to rob you," Jaune shook his head. "You can't let your guard down."
"Actually," Ren smirked, "I think you did." It took a moment before Jaune let out a curse and rummaged through his coat. It showed a quick flashback of Jaune doing the headlock and Oscar had stolen a key during that time.
"That little-"
"Okay, I'll give him credit for that," Glynda admitted, making Salem smirk.
"Falling for the most classic trick," Ren teased. "Not so marvelous are you, Captain." However, that didn't seem to deter Jaune at all. Instead, a smirk made its way onto his face.
Somewhere in the theater a shout of "YES" was heard.
"That sounded like Ms. Xiao Long," Ozpin stated.
"Someone made a pun, she'd be really happy," Qrow laughed.
"I'm going to track down that kid and keelhaul him," Jaune said as he pushed past Neptune, who comically fell onto his butt.
"Owie," he groaned. Only to fall again as Penny accidentally knees his face as she runs after Jaune.
"Oh, you mustn't keelhaul him!" she pleaded with her captain.
"He's not going to keelhaul him I take it?" Salem asked while turning to the Curator. When she didn't get a response she knew that it would be answered in the viewing.
Their Jolly Roger waved for a scene transition.
Jaune was walking with determination while Penny followed behind him hurriedly. "Why'd you follow me?" Jaune said, clicking his tongue.
"I was worried what you might do to that child," Penny admitted to him. Jaune turned to face his crewmate with a frown.
"She's obviously the heart of the group," Qrow nodded his head.
"The heart?" Winter asked her associate.
"The consciousness of the group. The one with the moral compass."
"And probably the reason she is with them," James said as he figured out why she stayed with them. "To keep them balanced."
"And what exactly did you think I was going to do to him?" Jaune placed his hands on his hips, looking at his subordinate as if she was overreacting.
"I don't know; thus, I followed you," Penny replied. Jaune huffed and then returned to his search.
"Such a wonderful subordinate," Salem complimented that version of Penny. "Knowing when you stand up to her leader to keep them in check."
"I doubt that you would accept that," Ozpin sniped at her.
"If they had something right to say I'd listen. But no one does." Salem smirked at her former husband who frowned.
"Do what you will," he told her.
"Then I shall," Penny replied, walking beside her captain.
A few minutes later, Jaune and Penny had Oscar next to a river. He was looking at the ShinkenRed Key. "There you are," the blonde said, standing on the railing. Jumping off of it and doing a flip, he landed smoothly onto the ground a good twenty feet down. Penny meanwhile did the sensible thing and took the stairs.
"See! He's just trying to look cool!" Qrow shouted happily.
"At least he can pull it off better than you can," Glynda teased. That caused the Huntsman to squawk in indignation.
"Give the key back."
"Why should I?" Oscar said, holding the key close to himself. "You're not even going to protect the Earth, aren't you?"
"Nope." At this time, Penny finally arrived and stood in between the two men.
"These were made on Earth! You're supposed to use them to protect this planet!" Oscar shouted back.
"I don't care where they came from, they are mine now," Jaune replied, walking over. "A great man gave them to me. And I'm going to use them to fulfill his wish."
"His Master," James remembered. "I wonder what he was like."
"Like I care," Oscar replied. "With this I...I can fight the Schneeyack Empire!"
"I'm afraid you can't do that," Penny kindly told him.
"Why do you want to fight anyway?" Jaune asked. As he did, he turned to face the tranquil river.
"My grandfather died in the Legendary War. He died saving me," Oscar told them.
Jaune's eyes looked towards the river as his mind went elsewhere. To a time where his captain did the same to him. The one who gave him the Ranger Keys and Navi who died fighting off the Schneeyack. To the man known as Akared.
In the distance, they heard a giggle. A screen appeared with Kali laughing. "His name is kind of silly. Aka translates to Red. So his name is Redred."
That caused whoever was paying attention to laugh.
"I'm sick of it, you know," Oscar continued. "Of people dying for me." Penny looked like she wanted to say something, but before she could, dozens of ships started laying waste to the city. Tens of grey Gormin dropped onto the city streets, as well as a couple of blue ZGromin, and one larger alien.
This being looked like a walking mass of vines with a black carapace armor and red orbs acting as its face, although some were in odd parts of the body. It had a bazooka and a sword that was also made of vines.
"And here is the Schneeyack," James said. He began to take note just in case this invasion force ever came.
"The green thing must be the leader of this platoon," Winter noted. "Given its individuality and difference in looks."
"Correct in one. All those Gormin are actually different alien races with the same uniform. Zgormin are those same beings "upgraded" and the leaders tend to be stronger aliens," the Curator replied.
"Upgraded how?" Salem asked him.
"Making them mechanized."
"Interesting."
They began wreaking havoc onto the people of this city, murdering them as they tried to take over. Oscar and Penny arrived first. "How terrible," Penny gasped. Oscar didn't reply; instead, he tightened his fist around the key. Only to be surprised when Jaune held out the transforming Mobilate towards him.
"What!?" All the responsible adults said at the same time. That was very inappropriate and irresponsible!
"You said you wanted to fight," Jaune said calmly.
"Captain!" Penny gasped.
"You beat that alien, you keep the key," Jaune offered. "If you lose, give it back. Deal?"
"Fuck yeah!" Qrow said happily. His sentiment was shared by the teens around the theater. Except for Weiss, Penny, and Blake who agreed with the adults.
The villains didn't care much.
"You can't suggest something so absurd," Penny pleaded with her captain. However, Oscar already took the phone and opened it.
It looked normal save for the odd keyhole in the middle, and it's lack of a screen. Oscar clicked the side of the ShinkenRed Key, and it flipped up, showing an actual key. Inserting the key into the slot, he turned it.
SHINKENGER!
A red kanji for fire popped out of the phone and flipped around before placing itself on Oscar's face. His entire body glowed red as the red outfit on the key took had engulfed his body. He had a red upper body and a black bottom. At his side was a katana. "I transformed!" Oscar yelled before drawing the sword and running off.
"So those Keys literally change them to the suits," Ozpin said. "Any special abilities to it?"
"They also gain the abilities of the suits and can use the powers, but with their own flare," the Curator replied.
"So they're the same as the magenta asshole?" Qrow asked.
"Indeed."
"Wait!" Penny tried to stop him, but Jaune stopped her first. She turned to him, but they shared a look. Jaune was asking her to trust him.
Which she did.
"That's a lot of trust between them," Glynda said.
"They're family of choice," the Curator replied. "And they have traveled years together. The trust and bond the five have are strong. It's as strong as the bond Nora and Ren have, or any of the siblings."
Oscar put up a brave fight, even managing to kill some Gormin. But the lead alien, Bongan, defeated him handily. Oscar was thrown off a roof by Bongran, and he had slammed into a wall of another building. Thankfully the armor took all the damage as he fell a couple of stories onto the floor.
Penny ran over, followed by Neptune. The entire group had come back together. "Are you alright?"
"He obviously isn't," Winter sighed. She knew the robot girl was kind but that was a bit much.
"Your bedside manner could use some work," Salem chided the Schnee soldier. That surprised those in the room, save for the Curator. "What? Even I know when to use a soft hand to deal with others."
"I couldn't do it," Oscar cried. Tears pooled in his eyes as he hated his weakness. "I didn't have the power to protect the Earth." Ren and Emerald stood beside them.
"Do you understand now?" Jaune asked as he grabbed his borrowed equipment from the floor. It sounded a little insensitive. "If you want to protect your planet, find a way to do it on your own."
"He's rather uncaring," James said with a frown. "How can a man like this be a leader?"
"You can say the same about that extremist Taurus," Glynda told him. "But at least this version of Mr. Arc does show some soft side."
"H-How?"
"Don't ask me, figure it out yourself," Jaune replied before walking off. The crew looked at one another, worried about their captain. The said captain stopped to continue speaking, not facing the group. "Hey...does this planet have any value?"
"What's this?" Qrow said. His face was changed to one of surprise. He didn't think the brat was altruistic at all.
"O-Of course!" Oscar answered.
"Where?" This quick question made the young man bite his lip and clench his fists.
"Everywhere you look." A moment later, he glared at Jaune's back. "If you are a pirate, figure it out yourself!"
His answer didn't get the response he thought he'd get. Instead, Jaune smirked, as did his crew. A look of respect was on all of their faces. "Well said," Jaune replied. "See you around."
"Ah so he was testing him the whole time," Winter said in surprise.
"And he was trying to figure out if fighting for this world was worth it," Glynda told her friend. "To see if these people were worth fighting for."
As Jaune ran off to fight off the Schneeyack forces, the rest followed. However, Ren stayed back for a moment. "I think he likes you," Ren complimented Oscar and ruffled his hair.
"The boy did have some gumption," Ozpin nodded. "I can see why Mr. Arc seems to like the child."
As the Schneeyack forces continued their assault, they were going through a factory, only to stop when they saw the crew at the other end of the road.
Jaune stood in the middle of them all. To his left were Ren and Emerald, with Neptune and Penny on the other side. "Well, if it isn't those space pirates? What do you want?" Bongan said.
Jaune took out his Mobilate, as did his crew. "We're just looking for something," he replied calmly. They each took out a Ranger Key and flicked it open. "Gokai Change!" They all shouted as they did a pose and inserted their keys before turning them.
Another screen with Kali showed up. "Roughly, that means Heroic Change."
"Fitting," Salem laughed.
GOKAIGER!
The screen showed Jaune standing in space as three red X's and a V fly above him. The first X engulfs his body, giving him a black bodysuit with the miniature version of their jolly roger on his chest and white gloves. The second X comes down, creating a red armor akin to his red coat. The third X and V come one right after the other to make his helmet and another symbol.
The same happens to his teammates, with Ren being blue, Emerald yellow, Neptune green, and Penny pink.
"GokaiRed," Jaune introduced himself by flicking his middle finger across his chin.
"GokaiBlue." Ren held his head as he turned towards the camera.
"GokaiYellow." Emerald crossed her left arm under her chest and waved her right, doing the peace sign.
"GokaiGreen." Neptune rubbed his legs as if he were straightening his clothes.
"GokaiPink." Penny put her right arm out before bringing it to her chest and doing a courtesy.
"Kaizoku Sentai…" Jaune started before he was joined by everyone else as they posed, "Gokaiger!"
"Pirate Squadron Heroic Rangers," the Curator filled in for Kali.
"Those are snazzy suits," Qrow admitted.
"And I can see what you mean by their suits being made for kids," James said looking at the bright colors. "It would calm them down compared to a normal outfit."
Jaune began to twirl a pistol, the Gokai Gun, in his left hand while holding a sword, the Gokai Saber, in his right. "Let's make a show of it!" he exclaimed before firing off a couple of shots and instantly killing a few Gormin.
"Either that's a strong gun or that's weak armor," James said contemplatively.
"Maybe a bit of both?" Glynda replied. "I mean, that child managed to defeat a few of them on his own and untrained."
"Very true."
"What a joke," Bongan scoffed. "Gormin, get them!"
The two forces ran toward each other, with the Gokaigers managing to kill Gormin quickly with their weapons. Jaune even goes so far as to slash two down, shoot a third, and stab one behind him in the head without looking.
"I can feel the confidence from this one," Ozpin sighed. "I wonder how our Mr. Arc is doing out in the multiverse and getting stronger."
"Maybe he finally got the confidence he sorely needed," Glynda said. While they had just seen snippets of him as a Kamen Rider, they never truly saw what had happened to him nor his changes.
Ren and Penny were fighting on a higher level of the factory they were at, on a catwalk surrounded by Gormin. After stabbing one, Ren saw Penny struggling just a little. "Penny," Ren called out before sliding his gun toward her.
"Thank you! Here!" Penny stepped on the Gokai Gun and threw her Gokai Saber. It spun around in the air, killing numerous Gormin before Ren caught it.
"Flawlessly executed," Salem complimented. "I wonder if yours is as good."
"Penny is better than that one for sure," James retorted. Although seeing the skills of this pirate, maybe he can have Pietro teach her some new things to diversify her arsenal.
Once he did, Ren began to dual wield the swords with excellent proficiency. Each time he swung, two Gormin were killed. Penny kicked up the second gun and caught it. She began to shoot all her enemies, even going as far as to jump the entire catwalk and shoot everyone beneath her.
"As much as I hate to agree with the Queen of Grimm, they are pretty good," Qrow said begrudgingly.
The scene changes to Emerald fighting on a different catwalk with Neptune on the other end. Unlike the refined way Ren fought or the elegant way Penny did, Neptune was very unorthodox. When a troop of Gormin shot at him, Neptune yelled and jumped off.
"This one reminds me more of our Mr. Arc," Ozpin chuckled.
As he landed, a second troop got ready to shoot at him. "Doc!" Emerald shouted. Like Ren, she tossed her gun to him.
"Huh, OH!" Neptune put his sword into his armpit and caught the gun. Dropping the sword afterward, he kicked it up to Emerald.
"Nice pass!" Emerald exclaimed. She slashed at the Gormin. Unlike Ren's style with two swords, Emerald was more brute strength able to take down more people with a couple of swings.
"I see all of them have their own little ways of fighting," Winter mentioned watching the group fight.
"And that's why the Curator said they fought with their own quirks while in other people's suits," Qrow surmised.
Neptune managed to dodge the hail of bullets and found some barrels to hide behind. He kicked a fallen barrel and rolled along with it, using it as cover. As it went, he began to shoot at the same time. Again, unorthodox was Neptune's style of fighting. Once the roll was done, he shot the stack of barrels causing it to explode.
"I now see why it said he was unorthodox," James said. "Who would even think of using explosives as a barrier?"
It went back to Jaune, who was surrounded but easily kept the Gormin at bay. His fighting style was confident as he spun out of the way of one Gormin, only to stab the one approaching him, and then to shoot the one behind him. The last one to approach the captain was stabbed through the chest. Jaune saw that the three Z-Gormin, the large blue elites, had approached. As they ready to fire their arm cannons, Jaune used the body of the last Gormin to block the shots. When the Z-Gormin saw that failed, they went to go into a melee, using their arm cannons as clubs. Jaune lazily dropped the dead Gormin, spun away, and shot each of them once, staggering them.
"No wasted movements, all his actions show he knows exactly what he's doing," Glynda said as she watched what had happened. "From the small amount of what we've seen he doesn't doubt any of his moves."
"That's correct," Ozpin agreed. "This group would make fine Huntsmen."
"Or soldiers," James nodded his head.
"Given the rebellious streak of the captain, they wouldn't follow either of you," Salem shot down their thoughts.
As they were forced back, the rest of the Gokaigers ran to his side. Hitting the top of their belts, each of them had two keys pop out, landing into keyholes in their weapons. Locking the keys in their slots resulted in their weapons beginning to glow their respective colors.
FINAL WAVE!
Penny and Neptune shot their empowered Gokai Guns, and a barrage of pink and green bullets destroyed one Z-Gormin.
Ren jumped and did a spinning slash, while Emerald did a cross slash. Streaks of blue and yellow destroyed the second one.
Jaune shot a red bullet before slashing with his word, sending out a beam from the blade. It collided with the round and propelled it through the final Z-Gormin. It resulted in all three exploding.
Qrow whistled and clapped his hands. "That was pretty badass," he said. "Flashy too. They would definitely be huntsmen as they are."
Bongan walked onto the scene and fired missiles from his bazooka.
Somewhere in the theater, everyone could hear Ruby shout, "THAT'S NOT HOW BAZOOKAS WORK!"
"Has anyone stated how loud those children can be?" Salem asked. Others who have noticed made a noise of agreement. "So it's not only me who finds it annoying."
The crew was quickly able to deflect all of them and relocate to a space that had less stuff to blow up. "I won't be going down so easily as those Z-Gormin!" he taunted. From his seemingly endless bazooka, he shot more missiles.
"Have to agree with them niece, that's not how a bazooka works," Qrow chuckled.
The Gokaigers weren't deterred, though. Instead of panicking, the crew pressed the top of their belts for a new set of keys.
"GOKAI CHANGE!"
As the explosion covered the group, a bright light flashed.
DEKARANGER!
All of them had changed to a different set of armor, with all of them having a number from 1 through 5 and wielding guns. The explosion wasn't from the missiles colliding. It was from them shooting out the explosives as they stood in a circle.
"What's the story of this group?" James inquired.
"Intergalactic police, the pirates actually had a run-in with them a couple of times," the Curator answered. "But not the main squad specifically."
Once the threat of explosions was gone, they turned their focus on Bongan and fired. As their laser beams hit the monster, his bazooka was destroyed. Bongan growled. "It's not over yet!" Holding out his sword, he ran toward them.
"Stellar teamwork. They aren't even speaking to one another," Winter said nodding her head. "They may even beat out our Ace Ops."
The Gokaiger took out new Ranger Keys and transformed into another group.
HURRICANEGER!/GOURAIGER!
A veil of wind covered Jaune, Ren, and Emerald, while lightning struck Penny and Neptune. They became ninjas with their corresponding colors. Although for Penny, she became a navy blue ninja, and Neptune was maroon.
"Why do they have different names?" Salem asked.
"Three of them went to a different school compared to the other two," the Curator replied. "They started as rivals before teaming up."
"So it would be like if Atlas and Beacon had an exchange student," Winter guessed.
"Grand Ninja Art: Shadow Dance!"
A shoji screen closed in front of the monster. Only Bongan's shadow could be seen as the Gokaigers attacked via high-speed shadow strikes. It ended in a barrage of kicks that threw Bongan through the shoji.
"Ninjas," Qrow laughed. "Pirates who can turn into ninjas."
"Why are you laughing?" Glynda asked.
"An old meme about ninjas fighting pirates."
"Meme?" James asked. "How is that a meme?"
"Oh right. You're not up to date on the whole thing kids are into. Just forget what I said."
As the monster was recovering, they all pulled out red Ranger Keys. "GOKAI CHANGE!"
SHINKENGER! Jaune had turned into ShinkenRed himself.
GAORANGER! Ren had changed into armor with a red lion as a theme.
MAGIRANGER! Emerald's suit became a red magician with a cape and the phoenix on the mask.
GOSEIGER! Neptune's look seemed to be some sort of warrior as angel wings made his armor.
GEKIRANGER! Penny had gotten a red tiger suit.
"So they don't even have to stick with one squad?" Ozpin asked. "They can mix and match to fit the scenario."
"That and the clothes change to match the person's gender," the Curator replied. "In the Hurricanger one, the owner of Ren and Emerald's suits were actually the opposite gender. The same happened with Penny's suit adding the skirt."
"Uh...oh...so many reds," Bongan gasped.
"I think it's time for some payback," Jaune said as he brandishes his katana.
"Awww. For the kid!" Qrow clapped his hands. "Good on them!"
Emerald and Neptune ran forward. In Emerald's hand was a staff with a red phoenix at the top, while Neptune had a weird face thing.
"Celestial Arts!" Neptune shouted as he closed the mouth of the odd face with a card inside of it.
"Gi Magicka!" Emerald announced and pointed her staff in front of her.
From the odd face device was a swirling tempest and from the staff a raging inferno. The two mixed, engulfing Bongan.
"Using wind to enhance the fire," Salem hummed. "Smart tactic. And then turning it into a prison? Very smart."
"AH! HOT!" the alien shouted as he was trying to protect himself from the flames assaulting his body. Only to be kicked in the chest by lion and tiger themed warriors. Ren and Penny both followed by a flurry of claw strikes. Their hands were a blur as they attacked him.
"Did they learn those moves or did the suits give them as some sort of insight into their abilities?" Ozpin asked.
"Oh no. They had to train to figure them out," the Curator answered the headmaster. "It doesn't show here but a few days later the group learns that to get the Universe's Greatest Treasure, they had to be acknowledged by their predecessors. And to do that they had to show their growth as people. That includes usages of their suits."
The two ended their attack with two palm strikes forcing Bongan into the wall of flames. The two then spun out of the way as Jaune stepped in between the two and began slashing at the alien with a flaming katana. All it took was three strong slashes. The final one dispersed the flames.
Jaune and the rest of the Gokaigers turned around as Gongram began to spark. Falling to his knees Gongram blew up in a fiery explosion. Meanwhile, the grew walked away and transformed back into their original outfits.
"Again, badass," Qrow claps his hands. "They didn't even look at the explosion."
Fades to black.
"I feel like that was cut a little short," James stated. "Like something is missing."
"I opted not to show the fight in the giant mecha vs the skyscraper-sized revived monsters. They tend to get repetitive in the action," the Curator sheepishly answered.
"But we haven't seen it yet," Glynda replied. "How can it be repetitive to us if we don't know what you're talking about?"
"Trust me it's better this way." The people didn't argue and left. The ones who came in were Ruby, Summer, Yang, Raven, Blake, Kali, Weiss, and Nora.
The screen opens up to show Jaune in a pair of boxers and a shirt. He was in front of a box and mirror. The house he was in looked rather more like a hut too, by the ocean. He was scratching his chin. "I wonder what weapon I should bring."
"Weapon?" Ruby asked curiously. "Wait, does this mean he has more than one weapon?"
"Yes, everyone in this world does," the Curator replied.
"Oh my gods," the young girl gasped.
"Why is he just in underwear?" Kali wondered.
"Picking out armor for an expedition," the Curator answered.
"I am going hunting with Yang, Ruby, and Nora today. Ah, shoot. What were we hunting again? I'll have to ask someone. But given my current group being really reckless...Hunting horn it is!"
In the distance, a loud roar could be heard.
I just noticed how stuffy it felt to write for the teachers without anyone more childish to bounce off their straight man with. Thank god for Qrow.
Sorry for not adding the mecha fight. Those tend to be the most boring parts to me when it comes to Super Sentai and Power Rangers. But I do hope you guys enjoyed the chapter.
Now it has been a while since I've played Monster Hunter, so I don't know which armors would be best for this. So I would like some suggestions for armors from Monster Hunter World Iceborn for these weapons.
Yang is using Dual Blades
Ruby is Long Sword
Nora is Hammer
Jaune is Hunting Horn
I do have a hunt in mind. One of my favorites!
