He stared blankly at the ceiling, lying in his bed, and waited...
Something was lurking in the shadows. He could feel it but he pretended not to notice.
Without blinking, he continued to stare. He did not move an inch, his breathing slow and deep, his gaze still fixed on that particular spot on the ceiling.
His room was dimly lit by one simple candle, everything blurry and unclear.
The figure approached his bed in a slow pace. He just kept still. It was able to reach the edge of his bed, its shadow towering over him. Still he showed no reaction.
The young man suddenly grabbed a kunai from his jeans' left pocket and aimed it at the figure.
He missed.
Interesting... His mouth curved into a smile, his eyes twinkling in amusement.
The intruder made a beeline for the box on his table near the bed.
And tripped.
"Ooomf!"
"MISSION FAILURE!" Kakashi's voice boomed in the candle-lit room.
"NANI?" Naruto screamed.
"Naruto! Our job is to retrieve!" Sakura shrieked and hit Naruto on the head o.O
"…and not to make any noise at all." Sasuke added, somewhat pissed.
Naruto fumed and stomped out of the room.
