The Knight was walking towards the school, when a familiar face appeared next to it.
"Good Morning, Knight," Momo said with a smile.
"Good Morning, Miss Hanakai," The Knight greeted, while the girl pouted.
"Momo," She said.
"… Do you wish me to call you Momo?" It asked, while the girl. "… Okay, Momo."
"So, can I call you Arthur myself?" She asked.
"… If you want to, but I prefer being called Knight," It replied. "… Video games this weekend, three days left?"
"Hmm… I think the Student Council is doing something on the weekend, ah, yes, a dodgeball with Occult Research Club," She replied. "Can we do it today or tomorrow, instead?"
"… Don't mind that, we can do it today, if you wish," The Knight replied. There was still Asia in it's house, but the Knight didn't care about that. Asia was a nice girl, she would get along with Momo.
"Great, then let's meet up after school and go together," She said with a smile.
"… Okay," The Knight replied, before the familiar duo joined them. "… Good Morning, President, Vice-President."
"Good Morning, Knight, Hanakai," Sona greeted them, shortly followed by Tsubaki.
"Good Morning," Momo greeted.
"… Morning," Knight greeted.
"Knight, I got you a phone," Sona said.
With that she snipped out a typical phone one could find on a market. Not a fancy iphone or android one, just a simple one without a touch screen, not that the Knight cared about it. She then handed it over to the Knight, who accepted it with a nod.
"I have already put my and Tsubaki phone numbers in it, so that you can contact us," Sona said.
"… I see, thank you, President," The Knight replied.
"You're welcome, Knight," Sona said, the group walking together.
"Hey, Knight, would you like my phone number?" Momo asked, the other two girls glancing at her.
"… I suppose," The Knight replied as it tried to figure out how the damn thing worked. "… How do I add phone numbers?"
"Here, let me show you," Momo said and took the phone from it's hands, before imputing her phone number. "There, here you go."
"… Thank you," The Knight replied, before hiding it's phone.
"Is there a reason why you decided to give your phone number to Knight, Momo?" Sona asked, while the girl looked sheepishly.
"… It's possibly due to playing games together after school, we need a way to contact each other," The Knight replied, Sona's eyebrow raised.
"I see, thank you for telling me," Sona said, her fists slightly clenched. "Say, Knight would you like to play a game of chess with me during break?"
"… No, thank you, not today," It replied.
"Why not?" She asked.
"… I'm still not good enough to beat you in chess, President," It replied, while Tsubaki giggled, same with Momo, even Sona looked slightly amused.
"Is that so? Then, let me know when you find yourself ready, I would like to have a proper match with you," Sona said, while the Knight nodded.
"… I will," The Knight replied, the group making the rest of the way to the Council.
"…I can sense a different smell on you, new one," Koneko said, the two munching on sweets. "Why?"
"… New acquaintance," It replied.
"… Who are they?" She asked, her head tilted to the side.
"… Won't tell, not yet," It replied.
"… I see," Koneko replied. "… Playing games together, today?"
"… Momo coming today," It said, while the girl's eyes narrowed.
"… Why?" She asked.
"… Playing games together," It replied.
"… Don't mind that," Koneko replied. "... Can we play together with Momo?"
"… Don't mind that," It replied. "… Meet you today after school?"
"… Let's," Koneko agreed, the two lapsing into silence once again.
"...I will let Momo know," The Knight said and snipped out it's new phone. "… How do I send messages?"
"… Like this," Koneko said and began explaining the process. "… Won't she mind?"
"… She shouldn't," The Knight replied and wrote a message. "Koneko Toujou will join us, is that a problem?"
Then a moment later, it received a message. "It's fine, I will meet you in front of the school."
The Knight packed itself up, before making its way to the entrance, where it saw Momo and Koneko already waiting for it. As if on cue, the girls walked up to him, both of them glancing towards one another. And for some reason, it didn't like the look of that.
"… Shall we go?" The Knight asked.
"Let's," Momo agreed, while Koneko nodded, the trio slowly making their way to the apartment. "So, Koneko, how long have you two been meeting each other?"
"… Since the school began," The Knight replied.
"… How about you, Momo?" Koneko asked.
"Well, since Knight joined the Student Council," She replied. "So… it will be just me, you and Koneko, correct?"
"… One more person," The Knight replied, the two snapping towards it.
"… Who?" Koneko asked.
Well, that was a problem, the Knight knew it couldn't simply hide Asia from then, not that it wanted to. Koneko promised to keep a secret regarding two things, but Momo didn't. However, since both of them knew about the supernatural world, it made things slightly easier. For a few seconds it debated what to say, before it decided to come forth with both of the girls.
"… A nun, former one, excommunicated by the church, Asia Argento," It replied, the two girls staring at it. "… Saved her life, felt responsible."
"… Why are you telling us all this?" Momo asked, the recent talk with Azazel coming to their minds.
"… Because I didn't intend to hide it too long, not under current circumstances. I… apologize for not telling you sooner," It said.
"… Did you kill fallen angels and exorcists?" Koneko asked.
"… You know?" It asked, while the two nodded. "… I did… Killed all but one, spared by Asia."
"Then… did you use magic to kill them?" Momo asked, followed by another nod. "So… you can use magic, but you are still a human, aren't you?"
"… No," It said, the two blinking in response. "… Faked it, didn't want to explain things, still don't."
"… Why are you telling us this?" Koneko asked, while the Knight glanced towards them.
"… You deserve to know, I apologize for not letting you know sooner," It replied.
"Knight…," Momo began, before sighing. "You do realize that Sona and other will find out soon, don't you?"
"… I do, telling you first," It replied. "… If you want, I can explain some things on the way home."
"Okay… then, do you mind if I ask you a couple of questions first?" Momo asked, while the Knight shook its head. "So…, if you aren't human, who or perhaps what are you?"
"… Not a devil, not an angel, not a yokai, a… vessel," It replied.
"… Vessel…?" Koneko asked. "What is a vessel?"
"… Can't answer that, too dangerous," It replied, the two glancing at each other.
"Can you use magic?" Momo asked, while the Knight nodded.
"… A bit, limited spells," It replied. "… Koneko knows a bit more, saw me use it. You're free to tell her."
"Koneko?" Momo asked, while the girl nodded.
"… I know that Knight didn't join Sona's peerage, promised to keep a secret," Koneko said, while Momo glanced between them.
"So, I am guessing Asia knows all this, doesn't she?" She asked, while the Knight nodded. "Does she know we are devils?"
"… Not yet, didn't tell her, wanted to give her time to think," It replied.
Momo sighed, as she tried to figure out what to do. "… What do you intend to do with her?"
"… Invite her to Kuoh, let her live, safer there than with fallen angels," It replied.
"… Rias will try to invite her to the peerage," Koneko said, the Knight nodding in response.
"… Know that, will let her decide on her own, her life, her choices," It replied.
"But you still don't want to become a devil yourself, correct?" Momo asked, while the Knight nodded.
"… I will show you more in the apartment, show what Asia saw," The Knight said. "… Can I tell her of your identity?"
"… Yes," Koneko replied.
"I will trust you for now, you have got my permission," Momo said.
"… Understood," The Knight replied, before the trio reached the destination.
"Welcome back!" Asia greeted, only to notice two additional figures. "Oh, I didn't expect any guests. I am Asia Argento, pleased to meet you."
"I am Momo Hanakai, please call me Momo," The girl said.
"… Koneko Toujou, just Koneko," The girl introduced herself.
"So, um… Knight, what is going on?" Asia asked timidly.
"… Momo and Koneko… friends, know what happened with fallen angels," The Knight replied, while the girl's eyes spread wide open. "… Good devils, won't hurt you."
"Umm…," Asia began.
"It's true, we are devils," Momo said and unfurled her wings. "But do not worry, we are here to play video games, nothing more."
"… True," Koneko replied, before she showed her own set of wings.
"I… suppose, that's fine?" She began.
"… Sorry, Asia, didn't think it would turn out this way," The Knight replied.
"It's fine, really," She said with a smile, while the Knight nodded, before turning towards the girls.
"… My turn," It said and let the Void engulf, changing it, the two watching in pure shock.
"W-what is that?" Momo asked, the pitch black darkness different from anything she had seen before.
"… Can't say, too dangerous," It replied, before turning back to its former self.
"… Will you let Rias and others know?" Koneko asked.
"… Yes, not much of a choice anymore," It replied, before turning towards Koneko. "… Promise annulled, can tell others about what you saw."
"… Okay," Koneko replied, before looking around. "… Snacks and video games?"
"Umm… I can make something to eat," Asia suggested.
"Then let us help with that, Miss Argento," Momo said with a smile and hid her wings.
"… I will help as well," The Knight said.
"… Me too," Koneko added and also hid her wings.
"Okay, then, let's make something to eat first," Asia said, while the teenagers began helping her.
Momo and Koneko helped the most, since they actually knew how to cook, while the Knight was tasked with cutting things up, including onions, which would have made ordinary people cry in response. Koneko kept eating small bits and pieces, during the process slowing things down. However, that didn't matter as the group got along quite nicely all things considered, the Knight kind of expected it to end horribly, but it was good to be proven wrong once every now and then.
"Finished!" Asia said, three plates full of vegetables and a bit of cooked meat.
"Only three?" Momo pointed out.
"… Enough, don't need to eat," The Knight replied, while Asia smiled weakly, the two turning towards it.
"You… don't need to eat?" Momo asked, while the Knight nodded.
"… Eat, drink, sleep, etc," It replied.
"… Sweets?" Koneko asked.
"… Find them pleasant, not necessary," It replied, while the girls looked between each other.
"I'm… not sure what to say," Momo said.
"… You're weird, very weird," Koneko said, while the Knight nodded.
"… I am," It confirmed and the group sat at the table.
"It's delicious!" Momo said, as she tasted the food.
"… Delicious," Koneko said, while Asia beamed at the praise.
"It's nothing really," The girl said, embarrassed by the compliments.
After that, things went rather well all things considered, the food was eaten, dishes were washed and the group sat at the couch, which was starting to get a little bit cramped, before the Knight booted up the console and started a fresh file of Marvel Avengers, where everyone got to choose their own character. Asia was a bit hesitant about such a display of violence at first, but she got over it and enjoyed kicking butt of evil villains in a cybernetic world.
"That was fun," Asia said, while the two other girls nodded.
"It was," Momo agreed.
"… It was," Koneko added.
"… Glad to hear it… Asia, what about my question from the morning?" It asked.
"Umm… I thought about it and… I was a bit scared to be honest, but after meeting Koneko and Momo, I think I will be fine," She said with a smile.
"Don't worry, we will welcome you with open arms, we are not going to force you to do anything, you will be a student first after all," Momo said, while Koneko nodded.
"Thank you, really," Asia smiled. "So, I am going to join Kuoh, if I can that is."
"… I will make sure of it. Tomorrow, can you make it?" It asked, while the girl nodded.
"Of course!" She said.
"You two get along, don't you?" Momo pointed out, a bit jealous. "You sure, you aren't dating?"
Asia blushed like a tomato, before shaking her head furiously. "It's nothing like that!"
"… Suspicious," Koneko said, the girl pouting in response.
"… Not dating," The Knight confirmed.
"Is that so? Hmm… okay, although that reminds me, where do you two sleep?" Momo asked.
"… Asia in my bed, I don't need to sleep," It replied.
"… Odd," Koneko added.
"Well, at least there is that," Momo said. "So… nothing happened between you two?"
"… Happened?" The Knight and Asia titled their heads.
"You know… kissing, sharing a bed, nothing?" She asked, only for Asia to turn red immediately.
"… You did something," Koneko said, the two girls looking at her with expectation.
"I… didn't… mean, uuuu," She said and hid her face in her hands.
"Well, what happened?" Momo asked, while Asia shook her head in response.
"… Nothing did, Asia only saw me naked," The Knight replied, Momo and Koneko's jaws dropping to the ground.
"… Why?" Koneko asked, her eyes staring right into its eyes.
"… Went to take a shower, wasn't dressed, Asia saw me, put on the clothes," It summarized.
"Wow…," Momo said, both surprised and jealous. "That's… not what I expected. Though, it's not fair that you hide from everyone but show Asia."
"… Would you like me to strip?" It asked seriously, making Momo and Koneko blush in turn.
"W-where did that come from?!" She asked, realizing just how oblivious he could be at the times.
"… You said you were jealous," It pointed out.
"That doesn't mean I want to see you naked!" She replied.
"… Shirt," Koneko said, Momo turning towards her.
"Koneko?" Momo asked.
"… Just a shirt, nothing more," She clarified.
"… Want me to?" It asked, while the quiet girl nodded.
"W-wait!" Momo said, but it was too late, as the Knight stood up and took off it's shirt.
The reactions that followed were quite peculiar, all three of the girls turned as red as tomatoes. It could see their eyes watching it's lean build, not that it cared about it and… for some reason, Asia was fidgeting. Koneko was just staring, not speaking a word, her face stuck in shock. Momo on the other hand, seemed to be torn, not sure whether to look or turn away.
"… Happy?" It asked, while the trio nodded.
"Y-yes, you can put your shirt on," Momo decided. That was more than enough excitement for one day. "… How are you feeling, Koneko?"
"…," The girl turned towards her, opened her mouth, closed, before shaking her head. "… Different."
"I know what you mean," Momo said and leaned further into the sofa. "How about you, Asia?"
"I'm… fine," She settled on.
"Better than the last time?" Momo asked, while the girl blushed in response.
"A bit…," She admitted, she didn't take a good look last time after all.
"Well, thank you for everything today, Asia, Knight, but I believe we should go," Momo said and stood up. "I will see you tomorrow, at school."
"… Me too," Koneko added.
"… Likewise," The Knight said, before the duo said their goodbyes and left, leaving Asia and Knight alone. "… Shall we go to sleep soon?"
"I think so," Asia said and went to take a shower.
"Shall we go?" Asia said.
"… Let's," The Knight agreed, the duo walking out of the apartment.
The duo began walking towards the school early in the morning. The Knight was dressed in it's typical school uniform, while Asia was dressed in her nun outfit. Some of the students were glancing in their direction, boys cursing underneath their breath at another pretty girl being taken, while the girls gossiped about the Knight getting himself a girlfriend.
"No way, he got another one?!" One of the boys said.
"Look at her, she looks so cute," A girl said.
"Damn… and I thought transferring here would get me a cutie like that," Another boy said.
"No… the prince was taken," One of the girls complained. However, that didn't matter to Knight, as two figures joined during their walk there.
"Good Morning," Momo greeted them.
"… Good Morning," Koneko greeted.
"Good Morning, Koneko, Momo," Asia greeted.
"… Morning," The Knight said.
"So, where are you headed first, Knight?" Momo asked. "Student Council?
"… Indeed, the sooner the better," It replied.
"… Shall we walk together?" Koneko asked.
"What about Rias?" Momo pointed out.
"… Later, not here yet," Koneko replied.
"Okay," Momo said in response. The trio slowly made their way towards the room, until they arrived in front of the room, Momo opening it with a key of her own, letting the rest inside. "The rest of the council should arrive soon, so make yourself comfortable, Asia."
"Okay," Asia said and did as she was told, the Knight sitting next to her, a feet away from them. Koneko on the other side, similar distance.
"… Sweets?" Knight asked and handed over Koneko the usual.
"… Thank you," She muttered and accepted the offering.
"… You?" It asked and directed the second bag towards two other girls.
"Don't mind if I do," Momo said.
"May I?" Asia asked, while the Knight nodded. The group sat in silence, until the door opened and the rest of the Student Council entered the room.
"Good Morning, President," Momo greeted, shortly followed by Asia, Koneko and Knight.
"Good Morning, Momo," Sona began and her eyebrow raised as she looked at the nun. "Asia Argento, am I correct?"
"Yes…, how do you…?" Asia began.
"Know? We investigated the Church and found a few things," Sona replied. "Now, seeing you here like this, I would like to know what is going in here, Knight?"
"… Before that, Koneko," The Knight said, while the girl nodded and stood up.
"… I am going to get Rias, Sona," Koneko said.
Sona sighed, before shaking her head. "Go ahead, Koneko, we will wait."
"… I will be back soon," Koneko said, most of the council not sitting close to Asia, the council lapsing into silence.
"I have got plenty of questions for you, you do realize that, Knight?" Sona asked, while the Knight nodded.
"… I understand, I will try to answer to the best of my ability," It replied.
"To the best of your ability?" Sona pointed out, while the Knight nodded.
"… I will tell as much as I can, but not everything," It replied.
"Are you still keeping secrets despite the current circumstances?" Sona asked, while the Knight nodded.
"… Yes," It replied.
"… Alright, I will leave it be for now," Sona said.
"But, President, that bastard it up to something!" Saji protested.
"No, he is not, Saji," Sona replied. "If he really was up to something, this conversation wouldn't be taking place, now please sit down and wait."
A few moments later Koneko with the rest of the Occult Research club appeared in the room, Rias trying her best to hide her smile upon seeing the nun, but failing quite miserably. Akeno just smiled, at the sight, while Kiba nodded. Only Koneko didn't appear to be affected as she sat next to the Knight.
"So, Sona, Knight, I believe we have got much to talk about," Rias said.
"… We do," The Knight confirmed, before turning towards Sona. "President, may I make a request?"
"What is the request?" Sona asked.
"… I would like to request that Asia is accepted into the Kuoh academy," It replied, while Rias couldn't be any happier on the inside, almost bouncing on her feet.
Sona sighed, before pinching her nose. "Knight, you know who she is, don't you?"
"… I do," The Knight replied. "Told her of you, knows that you are devils."
"Asia knows," Momo confirmed, while Koneko nodded to her words.
"So you do, don't you, Asia?" Sona asked, while the girl nodded. "Okay, let us take it from the beginning, everything, including how you two met, I would like to hear the full story."
"… Understood," The Knight replied and began it's tale.
It described how it met Asia, what the angels tried to do with her, while simultaneously avoiding describing the details, like what it's spells did or how it was able to kill three fallen angels in less than a week. That and the fact that Asia saw it naked, Sona probably would not appreciate it. Things like Grimm, Dream Nail, etc were also kept a secret.
"So, let me get this straight," Sona began. "You have killed three fallen angels, memory alternated one, saved Asia, let her stay at your house for the time and after thinking it through you decided to invite her to a school under devil jurisdiction?"
"...Yes," The Knight confirmed.
"The fact that you can say it with a straight face is both impressive and ridiculous," Sona said with a sigh. "You do realize that devils and angels don't exactly work well together, that includes nuns and popes alike, do you?"
"Sona, don't be like that," Rias protested, worried that Sona would try to stop her.
"I am not," Sona said, before turning towards the Knight. "Do you understand, Knight?"
"… I do," It replied. "… Asia doesn't mind you being devils though, it doesn't mind me not being a human either."
"She doesn't mind you not being a human and us devils?" She asked, while the girl nodded.
"Hah! I knew it! You aren't human after all!" Rias basically yelled, before she caught herself, embarrassed by her own behaviour. "… Carry on."
"Umm… Miss Momo and Koneko are good people, I mean devils, we had fun yesterday," Asia explained.
"So you did," Sona said, before glancing towards Momo and Koneko, who both nodded at her words. "So, Knight, if you are not human, what are you?"
"… This," The Knight replied, stood up and let it's body be engulfed by the Void, everyone bar Koneko and Momo looking in shock at the display. "… Not a human, not an angel nor a yokai."
"If you are not any of those, what are you?" Tsubaki asked.
"… A vessel," It replied.
"What is a vessel?" Sona asked.
"… Can't say, won't say," It replied.
"The name of the vessel implies something that is used to house something else is that what you are?" She asked.
"… In a way," It settled on.
"I see," Sona replied, before sighing once again. "Alright, what kind of magic can you use? We know of some ghost-like attack, which you used during your fight with fallen angels at the church."
"… Won't say," The Knight replied, making Sona frown. "… Less you know, the better."
"Ara ara, you don't expect us to be satisfied with such a response, do you?" Akeno asked, her smile revealing something sinister.
"… I do," It replied.
"I am afraid that's not enough," Rias said. "So, Knight, why are you in Kuoh?"
"… Living here, studying, no other reason," It replied.
"Knight, your way of speaking," Sona pointed out.
"...I apologize, President," It replied. "… I am not interested in the supernatural world, I have never intended to become involved in it, but that bridge was burnt long ago."
"How long ago?" Sona asked.
"… Ten years ago, a stray devil tried to kill me, I killed it in response," It explained.
"So you knew all this time and kept quiet about it?" Sona asked, while the Knight nodded.
"You have got so much potential, Knight, why do you not want to become involved in the supernatural world? You could become a high-class devil," Rias pointed out, implying at the benefits.
"… I am still not interested," It replied. "I do not intend to become a devil."
"Wait… not intending? Sona?" Rias asked, while Sona sighed.
"It's true, Knight is not a member of my peerage," Sona confirmed.
"But why?" Rias asked, hurt by the lie.
"Because I know you, Rias," Sona replied with a deadpan. "I know how you hate being denied things you want."
"…," Rias glared at her friend, before sighing. "I suppose you are correct… So, Asia, would you be interested in joining my peerage?"
"Rias…," Sona warned.
"Umm… I actually don't want to become a devil either," Asia said, Rias' eyes spread wide open.
"Why not? You could live longer, become rich, learn how to use magic, maybe even get a peerage of your own," Rias said.
"… I don't need anything like that," Asia protested. "I am happy with how I am."
Rias opened her mouth, closed it, as she tried to figure out what to say. "That's… I…"
"Thank you for your proposal, but I have to decline," Asia said with a smile, before bowing.
"… Same here," The Knight said, Rias looking like she was about to cry. "… So, what happens now?"
"I suppose the only thing fair to do is to invite Asia officially to Kuoh," Sona said. "I will make arrangements for Aia's lodging and such, so that she can move to her new home today. However, Asia, may I ask you a question?"
"Umm… okay," Asia replied.
"I know that you are not interested in joining a peerage, but I have heard that your sacred gear is able to restore wounds, even to the devils," Sona began. "So, my question is would you be interested in healing us should the need arise, you would be compensated for your services of course."
"Umm… can I think about it some more?" She asked, while Sona nodded.
"Of course, take your time," Sona said. "Of course, Knight, I have got a similar proposal for you. It involves hunting stray devils, would you be interested?"
"… Perhaps," It replied.
"That's all I needed to hear. Now, I believe that's everything for today, isn't it?" Sona said.
"Wait, can I ask for the same thing?" Rias asked. "Could you do the same thing for me, Asia, Knight?
"I need to think about it," Asia replied.
"… Perhaps, I need to think about it myself," The Knight replied.
"Okay, that's all," Rias replied. Perhaps, she could salvage it somehow?
"So, are we clear?" Sona asked.
"…Almost, thank you, President," The Knight said and bowed.
"Don't thank me, I haven't done anything really," Sona denied the kind words, though there was a faint hint of blush on her cheeks. "Although… if you want to thank me, I would like to request something."
"… What is it?" The Knight asked.
"There is an upcoming game of dodgeball between me and Rias, I would like you to participate in it on my side, that's all," She explained.
"… Very well, I accept," The Knight said, while Sona smiled in response.
"Thank you, Knight," Sona said.
"Not fair, Sona!" Rias protested. "What if I wanted to do the same?"
"... I wouldn't have agreed regardless," It replied.
"Why not? Koneko is on my team," She pointed out.
"... She is, but that doesn't matter, just a game," It replied.
"Now then, Rias, is there anything else you would like to say?" Sona asked.
"Are you sure you don't want to join my peerage, Knight?" Rias asked, while the Knight nodded, the girl slumping in response.
"Hang on, I just realized something," Issei said, everyone turning towards him.
"Ara ara, what is it, Issei?" Akeno asked.
"Say, Knight, are you interested in breasts?" The boy asked, most of the females in the room looking at him with disgust.
"… No, not interested in breasts, copulation or anything of the sorts," It replied, the girls looking at it intensely.
"Hell yeah! Harem is back on the menu! I am going to spread the rumors that you're gay!" Issei said.
"… No, you won't," Koneko said and before the boy could protest, punched him right in the stomach, making him fall to the ground.
"Good punch," Momo said.
"… Thank you," Koneko said, before making herself comfortable, Issei groaning on the ground.
"Saji, please don't be like Issei," Sona said.
"I won't!" The boy promised.
You know what bothers me? The fact that this half-assed crossover is something I wish DxD was more like. Less focus on perversion, more on the actual world building. Love/hate reliationship with the franchise. Like the lore - evil pieces, god is dead etc. However, Issei who only thinks with one part of his body really turned me off. Guess that's why I prefer writing and reading crossovers.
