It took some time, but Kuroka was able to eat all it had left in the apartment. She sighed with content, her belly full, while the Knight just stared at the amount of food she had consumed, including the cat food it provided.
"Ahhh…. That hit the spot, nya," She said, leaning back into the chair.
"… You ate all I had left," It pointed out.
"Sorry about that, nya. I was really hungry though, nya," She said.
"… You buy your own food tomorrow," It ordered.
"Don't be like that, nya!" She protested.
"… I am not feeding you, too expensive," It said, while Kuroka chuckled.
"Aren't you honest, nya," She said, before shaking her head. "So, are you going to use the shower, nya?"
"… I suppose, I should," It replied and stood up. "… It won't take long."
"Don't mind me, I will stay here, nya," She said, while crossing fingers behind her back.
"… Okay," It replied and went to take a shower.
As if she was going to waste an opportunity like that! Making sure she was as silent as possible, she walked up to the door and tried peeking through it, only to see Knight's eyes staring at her.
"Unya!" She yelled and fell on her butt.
"… You didn't stay," It said from the bathroom.
"Sorry, nya," She said and went back to her chair. Oh well, it was worth a shot.
She could hear water going down the shower, her curiosity unsatisfied with what she experienced. She wanted to see him naked! After all, she wanted to make sure he looked fit first. Good nekomata needed good genes after all. Well, she supposed she had time for that. As she lazed around, waiting for the Knight to come out, she pondered idly what was he anyway?
"… I am back," The Knight said, this time fully clothed, it remembered what Asia told it after all.
"Alright, I am coming in, nya," She said, before going past the Knight, her tails swishing past the Knight, grazing it on the way, while the girl smiled, before she went to the bathroom and closed the door, but didn't lock them. "Where is the soap, nya? I can't see it, nya!"
"… In the shower," It replied.
"Can you come and help me find it, nya?" She asked.
"… Okay," It replied, while Kuroka got excited, maybe this one would work.
The Knight came inside the bathroom and the first thing it saw was Kuroka standing bare naked in front of it, not that it cared. It walked past her and pointed to the soap that was located inside. "… There."
"I see, nya. Thank you, nya, ups!" And with that she opened the shower, making the Knight wet in the process. "Sorry, nya!"
"… It's fine," It said as it looked at it's clothes. "… I need to change."
"Well, you can do it here, no need to splash water around, nya," She said and pressed his body against the wall, before she leaned on him, her breasts on the boy's chests. "We can take a shower together, what do you think nya?"
"… I already had one," It replied and gently pushed the girl away and with that, it left the bathroom, leaving Kuroka alone.
"How…, nya?" She asked, not able to believe what she just saw.
This was as far as she willing to go for one day, her whole sex appeal was ignored, something that actually hurt her pride a bit. Well, maybe she shouldn't have pushed her luck, but still, kind and strong? She actually wanted somebody like that to be a father of her children, though she supposed, she acted too soon. Maybe… she needed to give it some time first? Well, for now, Shirone. With that out of the way, she quickly took a shower, before going outside, her clothing back on her, while Knight had already changed into a fresh set of clothing of its own.
"… Are you ready to go to sleep?" It asked.
"I am," She confirmed and made her way to the bed, where she felt some aroma of another female it seemed. "Somebody else slept here before me, didn't they, nya?"
"… She did, a friend," It replied and returned back to dealing with school stuff.
"Do you often let other girls sleep here, nya?" She inquired, while the Knight shook it's head.
"… Not really, no," It replied.
"But you did, nya?" She asked, while the Knight nodded.
"… I will turn off the lights," The Knight said and did as told, before it sat down at the table, Kuroka watching it all the time.
"So, you're going to stay like this at the table all night, nya?" She asked, while the Knight nodded.
"… I do," It replied.
"Aren't you cold like that, don't you want to sleep in the bed, nya?" She asked, while Knight shook it's head.
"… I am fine, used to it," It replied, while Kuroka hummed in response.
"Have you ever slept with anybody, nya?" She asked, while the Knight nodded.
"… A bit with my mother," It replied.
"That's not the same, nya. Would you like to see how it is to sleep with somebody else?" She asked, while the Knight shook it's head.
"… No, I don't see a reason to do so or care about that," It replied.
"Well, what if Shirone or one of your friends asked you to sleep with them, nya?" She asked, while Knight glanced towards her.
"… If they wanted to, I would," It replied.
"Then why not with me, nya?" She pouted.
"… Told you before, don't know you well, don't trust you yet, not a friend yet," It replied.
"Meanie, nya," She said, while the Knight shrugged.
"… Maybe," It replied.
"Then, what can I ask of you, nya?" She inquired.
"… Right now? Not much," It replied.
"What about hand holding, nya?" She asked.
"… I haven't done it with anybody else, won't do it with you," It replied, while Kuroka snorted.
"You're either the most innocent or the densest guy I have ever met, nya," She said.
"… I think the proper term is asexual and anti-romantic," It said.
"Wait, you have never kissed a girl, nya?" She asked, while the Knight nodded.
"… Never kissed, not interested in sexual intercourse, a relationship or anything like that," It replied.
"What, nya…?" She asked, not able to believe her own ears. "How is that possible, nya?"
"… Won't say," It replied, while Kuroka frowned.
"… I see, nya. Then, goodnight, Knight, nya," She said and closed her eyes.
Kuroka blinked her eyes, as she looked around sheepishly, her clothing falling and revealing her generous chest. The first thing she noticed was Knight, who hadn't moved from his spot since yesterday, the second was the fact that she was sleeping in the bed and a comfortable one. Then, the memories of the previous day came rushing, as she remembered what happened. She looked at the boy and smiled slightly, before stretching herself and making herself presentable.
"… Good morning," The Knight said.
"Good morning, nya," Kuroka said. "So, what's for breakfast, nya?"
"… Nothing, empty shelves, you ate everything," It replied, while Kuroka sweat dropped a bit.
Right, she did that, she had to go outside to get something to eat. Although… She sniffed something really nice and made her way to one of the cupboards. She opened it, noticing a hefty bag of sweets just eating to be eaten. She smiled and reached out for them only to stop, as she heard something.
"… Don't touch them," It ordered, Kuroka glancing towards it.
"Why not, nya?" She asked.
"… Not for you, leave the sweets alone," It said and stood up, before it walked past it and filled it with sweets. "… If you eat them, I will throw you out."
"Don't be like that, nya!" Kuroka pleaded.
"… Don't eat sweets, then I won't do anything to you," It said, while Kuroka nodded.
"Okay, I won't, I promise, nya…," She said, while the Knight nodded.
"… Okay, I am leaving, do what you want, but don't touch the sweets," It said.
"I am going out as well, nya," Kuroka said, before the two left the apartment.
"… Why?" It asked.
"I am hungry, nya," She said and turned into a cat. "Meow!"
"… Okay, going to school, take care," It said, while Kuroka meowed again, before she ran away towards the city. "… Another odd one."
The Knight began walking towards the school, thinking of how to handle what was about to come. The devils it knew were not necessarily good, but even Rias was not evil incarnate. However, that didn't mean it trusted their kind and after what happened to Koneko, Kuroka and others, it was not keen on becoming subservient to the devils. In fact, it all depended what kind of deal they would present to it. As it pondered about that, a familiar face showed up.
"Good Morning," Koneko greeted and sniffed the air. "… The cat, it came again?"
"… It did," Knight confirmed. "… I have got a request."
"A request, what kind of request?" She asked.
"… Could you come to my home after school?" It asked.
"Why is that?" She asked.
"… There is someone I want you to meet," It replied.
"Who…?" She asked, not sure who the Knight was talking about.
"… Your sister, Kuroka," It replied, while Koneko's eyes spread wide open.
"She's… here? Why?" She asked.
"… She wants to meet you," It replied.
"I… I need to think about it," She replied.
Her first thought upon hearing that was relief knowing that Kuroka was alive. However, this was soon replaced by curiosity and dread. What was she supposed to feel? She knew what happened, she knew that her sister was innocent, but… at the same time, she was worried, she was worried that the gap between them could not be mended just like that. But…
"… I want to meet her," She decided, while the Knight nodded.
"… Okay, after school, don't tell anybody," The Knight said, while the girl nodded in response.
"So… how is my sister anyway?" Koneko asked.
"… Good, way different than you, ate all the food I had left," It replied, while Koneko giggled.
"That sounds like her," She admitted. "Was she… the cat that you met before?"
"… She was, but I didn't know back then, she revealed her true form yesterday," It explained.
"And how did that happen?" She inquired.
"… Acted like a cat, let her inside, she sat on my bed and then turned into her nekoshou form," It replied.
"So that's how… Did she do anything else outside of eating food?" Koneko asked.
"… She asked me to have children with her," It added, while Koneko's eyes spread wide open. "… She also got me wet, while she was naked in the bathroom."
"She did what…?" Koneko asked, her fists clenched. "Can you explain everything that happened piece by piece?"
"… I can," It replied and began telling the events that transpired yesterday. "… And that's when she tried to eat all my sweets," The Knight explained, while Koneko bit her lip. "… Here."
It then handed over a bag of sweets, which she accepted. "Thank you…"
"… How are you feeling, Shirone?" It asked, while Koneko frowned.
"… I am not sure," She admitted. "… I am a bit disappointed I guess."
"… Why is that?" It asked.
"Well…," She began, looking a bit embarrassed. "You saw my sister naked, didn't you?"
"… I did, doesn't matter, don't care about that, she is not a friend, you are," It replied while Koneko smiled weakly.
"I suppose that's true," She said. "… Wait, what do you mean by that?"
"… Shirone, you're a friend to me, I care about you, Kuroka is not," It replied, while Koneko's mouth and closed, before she flushed red.
"I… see," Koneko replied, a tiny smile on her face. "Thank you for telling me, but what about the fight between Rias and Sona and you?"
"… Then after the fight with peerages? It shouldn't take long," It replied.
"Then after school," She settled on, both excited and worried.
Just like the last time, the Knight found itself in the same room, where it met Four Satans, where everyone was already there. It watched, as Ajuka walked up to it and presented it with a document of sorts.
"Here is the contract between the parties," Ajuka said.
"… I need a moment to read it," It replied and did as told.
At first it started innocently enough, it was to not revert Evil Pieces for the next year, that was something it could accept. However, as it began reading, more points were added, which it had to reread as it wasn't sure if it read correctly. It's eyebrow raised, but it continued reading the contract, more points added to the contract.
"… What is the meaning of this?" It asked, as it finished the contract.
"What do you mean, Mr Knight?" Sirzech asked.
"… Why were these points added? Exclusive Reincarnation Rights to Devil Faction? Full Control of the Process and Judgment by the Devils?" It asked.
"Very well, let me explain, first," Ajuka replied. "As you know, there are other factions in the world, including Fallen Angels and Angels. They will probably try to acquire your service, get exclusive rights. All we are doing is making sure that they can't use that power to destabilize the Underworld."
"… So, for others to not be able to hold this power themselves, you intend to monopolize it, yourself?" The Knight asked.
"It's the best decision for everybody involved," Falbium replied. "Many Stray Devils are criminals, monsters even, letting them go freely after their crimes is not something we can allow."
"… It's true that many stray devils are like that," The Knight began. "… But, how much harm have your kind already done thus far?"
"What do you mean by that, Knight?" Serafall asked.
"… It's simple, Levi-tan," It replied, Serafall smiled, while Sona groaned. "… Evil Pieces, they have been around for quite a while, haven't they? Around four hundred years to be exact, perhaps more."
"That's true," Ajuka agreed. "But, what does it have to do with our deal?"
"… How many innocent beings were hurt? How many were forcefully reincarnated? Why didn't you stop making them, after you got your population problems sorted out?" It asked, not letting the devils explain themselves.
"I assure you, we had good reasons for that," Sirzech said.
"… Perhaps… but I don't care about those," It replied and with one swift move it tore the contract apart right in front of everyone involved.
Rias, Sona and others turned pale, looking like they saw a ghost, their eyes bulging out. Sirzech frowned, Serafall gaped, Ajuka stared, Falbium just blinked. The room turned silent in an instant, all direction focused on it, while the Knight simply looked at the devils with the same blank expression on its face.
"You… really shouldn't have done that," Sirzech began. "Do you understand what you have just done?"
"… I tore the contract apart, I refuse to accept such conditions," It replied.
Sirzech sighed, before shaking his head. "I hope you realize that you can't take on the entirety of the Underworld by yourself? Or the fact that we can't let you go around reverting evil pieces left and right?"
"… I can," It replied, while Sirzechs frowned. "… And I can handle myself in a fight."
"Are you basing this opinion on your fight with Sirzechs?" Ajuka asked, while the Knight nodded. "He was holding back."
"… I was holding back as well," It said, the devils staring at it.
"So you did…," Sirzechs muttered. "Alright, Knight, what do you think will happen now?"
"… You will leave?" It guessed, while Sirzechs chuckled in response.
"No, we won't," Ajuka said. "At least, not unless we make sure you can't cause harm to the Underworld at large."
"… What do you suggest then?" The Knight asked, while the Four Satans glanced between each other.
"Oh, oh, I might have a solution!" Serafall said.
"… Is that so, Levi-tan?" It asked, while the girl smiled at it.
"Yup, I mean, you already fought against the Sirzechs, didn't you?" She asked, while the Knight nodded. "Well, that means, you're strong, aren't you?"
"… I guess so?" It replied.
"You also said that you want to reincarnate only devils in this room at least for now, correct?" She asked, while the Knight nodded. "Well, so, I had an idea…"
"Serafall, what are you planning?" Ajuka asked.
"Hear me out first, Ajuka," The girl replied. "So, I had an idea. There is a certain 'event' coming up, where we could make sure everyone is treated fairly, all you would have to do is come there, discuss the terms and then we can come to an understanding."
"… What event?" It asked, while Serafall shook her head.
"I can't tell you yet, it's very important though," She replied. "In exchange, no further evil pieces reversal till that."
"Serafall, are you talking about…?" Ajuka began, while the girl nodded. "I see… That's a decent enough solution, I guess."
"… How long would I have to wait?" It asked.
"Not that long, a few months, less than half a year. Once we know the proper date, we will let you know," She replied.
"Serafall, won't that put us at a losing position?" Sirzechs asked, while the girl nodded.
"It will, but the only other option I see is killing Knight, something I would rather avoid," She explained.
"That's not a bad solution," Falbium added. "We already had plans to do that, though, that will put Knight in the same position as other important figures."
"It will, but don't you think it could be a good bargaining chip for us?" She asked.
"So, that's your plan…," Sirzechs muttered, before turning towards the Knight. "Well, boy, it seems like we found a solution. What do you think?"
"… No reincarnating devils, but only for a few months, no more than half a year, no strings attached?" It asked, while Sirzechs nodded.
"That would be the case, as it is, we would rather avoid fighting you for multitude of reasons, but, we can't have you destabilizing the Underworld. So, what do you think?" Sirzechs asked.
That's not what he hoped would happen. Having exclusive rights would only improve the devil's standing in the supernatural world, if not, it was better to get rid of Knight than to make a deal with him. However, with the peace treaty being this close, it could turn out to be a disaster, if news about him spread. Haven would do everything in their power to secure someone like that, same with Fallen Angels. Whoever got the rights, would win.
However, they had a bargaining chip, Knight's connections to the devil faction. They could use it to make arrangements in their favour still, as the boy was rather close to the Student Council and students here. The problem was, the boy was strong, very strong in fact. It would require a massive army or some really powerful individuals to put him down quickly, like them.
Of course, they could simply invite him to a duel and then kill him, before wiping the memories of everyone in the room. That was the simplest solution, but… he doubted Knight would be stupid enough to accept. In fact, there was a high probability, it would refuse and try to run away, which would only further undermine their position. And based on their fight? He really doubted he could kill him easily, unless he went all out, which wouldn't go unnoticed.
The worst part of it was, every single faction in the world could use Knight to destabilize the Underworld. They needed him on their side, to be cordial with them. That or dead, whichever came first. Hmm… that actually was a good point, if not, it would be easy to arrange an assassination. A simple ticket to a hot spring, followed by enough magic to turn the boy into dust and problem solved, especially, if the parties were concealed. Hell, if he was lucky, somebody else would kill the boy for him, not that it would happen.
"… I can accept that," The Knight said, the atmosphere of the room, relaxing for a moment.
"Great! Just let me write it down quickly," Serafall said and with a bit of magic, created another parchment, which began writing itself in the air, before it landed on the table. "Here you go!"
The Knight looked at the contract, making sure it was as crystal as it was, before it put down it's signature on it and handed it over. "… Here you go, Levi-tan."
"Thank you," Serafall said and took the contract, which disappeared in a puff of magic.
"Well, I suppose that's that. We shall be taking our leave," Ajuka said, before turning towards the devils. "Miss Sitri, Miss Gremory, please keep an eye on Knight, so we know for certain that he adheres to the contract."
"It will be done, Lord Beelzebub," Sona confirmed with a bow.
"Good, it's finally over, I am going to take a nap once we get back, have a nice day, everyone," Falbium said, yawned, before teleporting himself out of the room.
"See you soon, Knight!" Serafall said with a twinkle, before she also disappeared.
"We will be watching, boy," Sirzechs said and both he and Ajuka also disappeared.
The room turned silent as everyone tried to wrap their minds around what just happened. However, that didn't last long, before Sona walked up to Knight, who raised it's eyebrow, her eyes glaring right at it. The same could be said about most of the devils, even Asia looked worried about what she just saw.
"What were you thinking?!" Sona yelled in its face, while the Knight blinked in response.
"… About what?" It asked.
"Tearing down the contract!" She exclaimed. "Have you got any idea how dangerous that was?!"
"… No," It replied, while Sona continued glaring right at it.
"You have just torn a contract made by Four Satans, they could have killed you for it, do you understand that? Do you understand how insulting that was?" She asked, while the Knight shook it's head.
"What you just did… was unbelievably stupid," Momo said as she walked up to the Knight.
"Why did you do that?" Koneko asked, just as worried as two other girls.
"… I didn't want the devils to be in full control of the harm they caused in the first place," It replied.
"That doesn't mean you should have torn the contract in two," Momo said, as worried as Sona.
"… Perhaps, but… I do not trust they would treat everyone evenly," It replied.
"What makes you say that?" Sona asked.
"… Remember how I said I could read memories?" It asked, while the girl nodded. "… I read memories of other stray devil, learned a lot."
"That still doesn't make it better," Sona chided.
"… Why does it matter?" It asked, not sure what she was getting. Dying was something it knew quite well after.
"Because I care!" She exclaimed, only to realize what she just said and flushed red. "I mean… you're a member of the Student Council, it's obvious I care." Judging by the looks Asia, Momo and Koneko sent her, they didn't believe her second part of the sentence.
"… I see," It replied, not many cared what happened to it. "… You're a good devil, President, a friend."
"What…?" Sona said, only to blush, as she tried to regain her composure. "I… Thank you."
"Noooo! Another girl falls for handsome, dammit," Issei cursed, Saji looking a bit miffed himself, other girls looking at her.
"Anyway…," Sona began, as she gathered her composure. "Let's not stand idly like that, how about we go do the whole practice we agreed upon?"
"… Let's," The Knight agreed, everyone leaving the room.
