Tifa looked up as Yuffie stalked out of the girl's bunk room, a book in her hands, and her face going white and red by turns.

"Yuffie?" she asked, concerned. "What's wrong?"

Yuffie looked at her, and made a face. "You—it's—I'm never going through your stuff again!" she shouted, throwing the book into a corner and storming into the hallway. Tifa blinked, and went to pick it up.

Several of the pages were marked, so she opened to one of them and started to read. After a few seconds, she started to giggle.

slid into her heated depths…

--

It took a while, but after the embarrassment wore off, Yuffie had to laugh. The events in the book were… interesting.

No, here. Make love with me right here in the garden.

Later, while she was reading the book, there was a knock—she knew Tifa would have just walked in, so Yuffie shoved the book to the side and went to open the door.

"Cloud wants to tell us his plan for the Crater," Vincent said.

Yuffie nodded, and went past him into the hallway. Vincent turned to follow, but he saw a book, half hidden beneath a pillow.

--

Vincent raised an eyebrow and turned the page of the book he had found—he suspected Yuffie had been the one reading it, because it had been hastily hidden. It just didn't seem like the kind of book she would read, though.

Michael seized her in his arms, thrusting his tongue between her lips and running his hands along her body.

He snorted and set the book down, heading to go take his watch—Cid had insisted on having at least one AVALANCHE member on guard, at least until they defeated Sephiroth.

Cloud was glad that his watch was over.

--

Cloud was almost certain he had seen the book he found somewhere before—the title certainly sounded familiar. He thought it might have been in the Seventh Heaven, on one of Tifa's bookshelves.

Opening the book to look at the inside cover, he smiled slightly and nodded at the looping cursive that proclaimed the book was property of Tifa Lockheart. Out of curiosity, he flipped further into the book, stopping at one of the marked pages.

his fingers greedily ripped at the bodice of her cotton dress, ripping and tearing the ties and buttons until she was bare to him…

--

Tifa was looking for her book—she knew she had put it back into her bag, but she wasn't having any luck finding it again. And Yuffie was already asleep—she wasn't about to wake her up, on the night before everything was going to end, one way or another, just to find a book.

She looked up at the quiet knock on the door, and went to open it.

Cloud waggled a worn book in her face as soon as she had the door open. "I believe that this belongs to you."

She blinked at the cover, and nodded.
