Please read the chapter, as it is rather important.
See, when I first started writing this crossover, I had no plan, still don't, my knowledge of DxD is based on other fanfictions, volume summaries, etc. Surprisingly enough, it managed to become fairly popular, not as popular as Naruto's wank stories (more than 2,5k of that mess), but decent enough and it's the first story of Hollow Knight/DxD in the fanfiction, which I am just a tiniest bit proud of.
Still, I have reread it and honestly, for all it does good, there are many things that went poorly in it. The characters are wooden (mostly the dialogue, it's quite bad, I need to work on that), there are typos, grammar issues and so on and so forth. Knight became a bit too Gary Stu, though, I tried to make him appear as similar to a vessel as possible. No mind to think, no will to break, no voice to cry suffering. Could have done better, not the worst thing in the world, still.
Having said that, I think I did some things right. First of all, no protagonist turned into a devil/Rias' bitch. That's the start. I also made the devils less into good guys, who get wanked to the godhood. Issei was on his path to become a villain for the Knight as the Knight constantly stopped him, which I intended to make Issei become driven by hate.
I mean, it makes sense, if Issei wasn't the protagonist, he would have become a villain that would do everything to make the world into his harem and have sex with every women/child/monster in the world for his own pleasure. And Rias? Rias is a spoiled brat. Make no mistake, she is not a heartless monster, but she is lazy, airhead and didn't really help her peerage until Issei came along.
The Catholic Church is useless and corrupt, devils are the good guys, etc. I mean, the wank is real. Although, I did come up with an idea to fix it. Riddle me this, why the hell does God of the Bible die for good? Why? What happened to his soul? To the souls of the Four Satans and other beings? In fact, I wanted to make a faction or Thanatos steal the souls of powerful beings and imprison them, because he is evil or something, idk.
So, I am going to end this crossover on a high note, below is a fight with Kokabiel that I decided to write as a way to show just how far you can take the Void. I hope you will enjoy it, Ediros signing out.
Kuoh academy, a once lustrous academy turned into a pile of rubble, on account of Fallen Angels assaulting the building. In the middle of the playground were the members of the Occult Research Club and Student Council, joined by Ravel, Riser Phenex and two exorcists named Irina Shidou and Xenovia Quarta. They were terrified as above them floated Kobabiel, one of the most powerful Fallen Angels, his ten black wings fully visible.
He had the appearance of a young man with long black hair, red eyes and a pair of pointy ears. He was wearing black robe with detailed accessories, mostly tattered now. There were cuts and bruises on him, but he was still more than a match for the devils of the school, despite them using their strongest attacks on him. An evil grin was plastered on his face, as he considered what to do.
"Well now, that was well done, I actually felt that one, Gremory, Sitri. Now then, who should I kill first?" He asked.
"Fuck you, Asshole," Saji spat, wounded just like the rest of the devils. Asia was trying her best to heal them, but it was obvious they stood no chance as it was against him.
"How cute, I suppose I should start off with you, no?" Kokabiel asked, a spear of pure light appearing in his hands.
Koneko gritted her teeth as she watched the angel's smug expression. She held back a bit during the fight, not using her double tail mode, but still, the angel was able to survive an onslaught of power that everyone combined. She was able to avoid getting hit, but at this rate, it would be all over, the girl thinking of a way to stop the monster in front of her. It seemed like she had no other choice.
"Stop," She said as she stood up, her clothes tattered.
"Oh, a volunteer! I applaud your bravery little one, what's your name?" Kokabiel asked.
"Shirone Toujou," She replied and with that, she called upon her training with Kuroka, two tails appearing behind her, a pair of fluffy ears on the top of her head.
"Koneko, what are you doing?! You're going to die!" Rias exclaimed.
"I won't, Rias and I am not Koneko, I am Shirone," She replied.
"So, Gremory Heiress likes you, well then, it would be a shame if something… happened," He said and with an evil grin threw the spear towards the girl.
In response Koneko jumped away from the spear, Kokabiel laughing heartily as he called upon another spear. It was her turn now and with that, she summoned several burning wheels, before launching them towards the Fallen. In response, the angel flew higher into the air, the projectiles following after him. He grinned, before creating several more spears and launching them towards the wheels, destroying both of them in the process.
What he didn't know was that it was nothing more than a distraction, Koneko blasting away from the face, before kicking the angel right in the face, sending him crashing to the ground, as she used his face as a springboard to gain some distance. She landed several hundred feet away, the Fallen flying into the air, a nasty bruise on his face.
"Not bad, little kitten, you are actually worth trouble," He said and turned towards the rest of the group. "You there, interrupt the fight and I will butcher you like the dogs you are. Now then, let's dance, little kitten."
And with that, he charged forward, more than happy to skewer Koneko on his spear. He was fast, way faster than most opponents she had faced before, but she practiced with Knight and she was able to duck underneath the attack, before delivering a vicious uppercut into his chin. The Fallen was launched into the air, as several more wheels smashed him in the face, sending him flying away. Koneko jumped away, while the angel laughed heartily.
"Not bad, not bad at all, but how do you handle barrage of light?" He asked and created dozens upon dozens of light spears before launching them towards the girl.
In response Koneko created a wall from her wheels, which barely blocked the attack, the remaining spears flying past her. However, the angel used the dust caused by the explosion to rush her, faster than ever before. Her eyes spread wide open as she realized, the Kokabiel was still holding back, the spear coming towards her heart.
"Koneko!" Rias screamed, only for a shield made out of Void to appear in front of her, blocking the attack.
"What the…?" Kokabiel asked, before several tendrils came to life and struck him, making him bleed, the angel backing away from the girl. "Interesting, what was that power, little kitten?"
"Less talking, more fighting," Koneko replied.
"Well then, no matter, I will just skewer you with this one," He said and created a much bigger and stronger light spear. "Any last words, little kitten?"
Just as Koneko prepared herself for another round, she hissed in pain, the mark throbbing for some reason and before she could realize what was going on, massive amounts of the Void began pouring from it, engulfing her body, as she yelped in fear. Kokabiel watched in curiosity as the girl was covered in the black substance, until the process was complete. The girl's body changed.
Instead of the school's uniform, there was a pitch black being with white, glowing eyes. Two tails with razor sharp blades at the tips were coming from her back, her eyes sharper, the form deadlier, like it was made from the living shadows. Even the claws became far sharper, looking like that of a dragon. And then there were tendrils coming from her back, which were moving on their own accord.
"… Shirone?" The Knight asked, it's voice sounding in Koneko's mind.
"Knight? What is going on?" She asked back.
"… I am helping you from away," It replied, the Void acting as armour for the girl. "… Let's kill him."
"Let's," Koneko agreed, not really caring about the phenomenon right now.
"Oh, look, the little kitten has got a trick or two more. So, are you going to just stand there or…?" He began only for Koneko to launch herself faster than he expected, before a Void infused punch sent him crashing through the school.
He didn't have time to think as the girl descended upon him, her attacks relentless, the Fallen doing his best to keep up. It was like she was a completely different person. She was able to punch him right in the stomach, getting his wind out of him, but giving him an opportunity to strike. However, in that moment, her body turned into a shadow, which phased through, the shadows itself lashing at his body, as she passed through him. And then, she kicked him right between the legs, into family jewels, launching him several hundred meters into the air.
The Fallen coughed blood, as he looked at the tiny girl below him, feeling like he was just kicked by the Big Red out of all things. This couldn't be right, there was no way he was losing here to this bitch, not without restarting the Great War. He scowled as he snipped out a golden colored apple from his robe and bit right into it. The apple immediately rotted, but a burst of energy filled his body, another pair of spectral wings added to his back, his wounds restored.
"Okay, you dumb bitch, you had this one coming. I wanted to keep it for Lucifer himself, but I will settle for killing you, right here and now!" He roared and dived into the ground.
However, the Knight was ready, as he transferred the SOUL through Koneko's body, a spell coming to live. Void Shriek, a more powerful version of the Abyss Shriek, where the ghosts were mostly black and looked like razor sharp void beings. Kokabiel barely had time to create a barrier as the Void engulfed him, the barrier barely holding on, the angel shaken.
"What the hell is that power!?" He yelled, before Koneko launched herself into the air, the Void making her able to fly. "Oh fuck!"
She tried kicking him, only for the attack to be blocked by a light spear, if barely. He immediately backed away, not keen on being attacked by shadows again, before he glanced towards the ground. He grinned maniacally, before hundreds of light spears were created and launched towards the ground, ready to kill everyone and everything below. However, at that moment, massive amounts of the Void flowed from Asia's mark, creating a dome shaped barrier for the teenagers, shielding them from harm.
"Any last words?" Koneko asked, the angel turning towards her.
"What the hell are you?!" He asked, shaking.
"Shirone Toujou, a nekomata," She replied and flew above him.
"Die you little shit!" He roared and launched another barrage, this time towards her.
However, this time, she didn't bother dodging as another spell materialized in Koneko's hand. Descending Void, stronger and more powerful Descending Dark, which made her invulnerable during it. The angel could only watch in terror, as the girl phased through his attacks and delivered a kick into his stomach, dragging him down towards the ground.
Just as he desperately tried to figure a way out, she began rotating and before he realized what was going on, a massive hurricane made from the Void and Wing was drilling his stomach, the angel yelling, the hurricane tearing at his body. Descending Void Hurricane, something she came up with herself. Then, they impacted the ground, the collision akin to that of an earthquake, dust sent into the air. Then as it all cleared out, Koneko stood in the middle of the crater, back in her normal form, not a trace left of the fallen. She was breathing hard, panting, the power putting a tool on her body, as she fell to her knees. The fight was over…
