"Mavis! Get up! NOW!"

She opens her eyes and groans. Her mother was yelling at her again. Of course, she heard about her weak psychic abilities and was very displeased with her. She got out of bed and fix her hair. She opens the door and saw her mother standing there.

"You come home late again, young lady!" She said.

Mavis sighs and walks around her. She knew there was no point telling her why she was late. She wouldn't believe her anyway.

"Can I go clean up?" She asked.

"Fine. You have five minutes." Her mother said.

Mavis walks towards the bathroom before spotting a Gallade. Both a guard for her family as well as her father. But he never treated her like one, and she never saw him as a father.

"Mavis." He said, not looking at her.

"Blade." She said back.

She walks past him and enters the bathroom. As she cleans herself, she thought back to her new friend. A friend that helped her unlock her psychic powers. A friend who was her enemy. She did want to see him again. They were so busy training, she lost track of time and had to leave. She didn't even get his name. She used her psychic powers to wash her body and her hair. She then dries off and looks at the time.

"With two minutes to spear." She smiles.

Mavis walks out of her bathroom and down towards the dining room. She sat down as a plate of berries was placed in front of her. Her mother walk in and sat down, not even looking at her. Mavis rolled her eyes before spotting the pitcher of berry juice at the end of the table. She knew her mother would never pass it down when she asked. She always had to get up and get it. Her eyes glow and lift the pitcher up. She carefully brings it over before pouring some juice in her cup. She sets the pitcher down and started to eat.

Mavis thought back to her Riolu friend and started to think to herself.

'Why did he help me? I mean, he's a Riolu. But the way he explains his life. It's almost like mine. Only, his family is more supportive of him. But both of our elders want this long war to continue. Why? What started this war in the first place?'

"Mavis!"

She jumps as she heard some of the plates hit the table. Did she use her psychic powers while in deep thought?

"How in the world?!" Her mother said, clearly shocked.

"Um, I was taking some extra lessons?" Mavis said, a little worried.

"How?! You could barely lift a single plate! You just pick up everything!" Her mother said.

Mavis had to think of something. She then saw her mother lead close to her and stared into her eyes. She knew what she was doing. She was trying to read her mind. She couldn't let her find out about Riolu! She quickly blocks all images of him before her mother could see them. She finally sat back and smiles.

"I can't believe it. My little Ralts finally unlocks her abilities." She said, happily.

"My lady? I heard a loud noise." Blade said, walking in.

"Mavis had unlocked her psychic abilities!" Her mother said.

Blade walked over, and had his eyes glow. Like before, Mavis quickly blocks all images of Riolu before he could see them. Blade finally backs away and turns to her mother.

"Hmm, she holds a lot more power than we thought, Lady Sadie." He said.

"Indeed! Tell me, dear. How did you unlock your powers?" Sadie said.

Mavis had to think fast! She couldn't tell them that a Riolu helped her. Maybe she could tell the truth but not mention him? It was worth a shot.

"I was training yesterday and I met a new friend. He helped me understand that I was focusing on all the negativity that everyone was giving me and it was blocking my powers. He told me to stop focusing on that and I was able to unlock my powers." She said, trying her best to keep her trainer a secret.

"Hmm." Blade said.

"Wait, what do you mean you were focusing on the negativity?" Sadie asked.

Mavis sighs. This was not going to turn out well.

"You and just about everyone else in the village treated me like I was some kind of mistake. No one would train me, no one believe in me. You all thought I was doomed to a failure." She said.

Sadie and Blade looked at each other. As they thought about it, they knew she was right. Everyone in the village treated Mavis like she was nothing. They were ones responsible for her power locking away? Sadie sighs. All this time, she was putting down her little Ralts because of what she was told. To think it took a complete stranger to help her finally unlock her powers.

"Who was he?" Blade asked.

"I never got his name. I haven't seen him since last night!" Mavis said, nervously.

Blade raised an eyebrow, but Sadie walks over and hugs her daughter.

"I'm so sorry, Mavis. I didn't know. I should have listened to you." She said.

Mavis didn't get it. Her mother was sorry?! She was never sorry!

"Tell you what, after your lessons, we'll go to your favorite place! Voir Park!" She said.

Voir Park, named after the Gardvoirs of her village. The name one place she likes going to because of the statute in it. The statue of her ancestor. Grander, the Gardvoir. One of the first and oldest Gardvoir to founded this village. Mavis would sometimes go there to see her ancestor, hoping it would guide her to her powers.

Blade, on the other hand, was still confused. Why would someone try to help her? Did they not know she was next in line to rule the village? However helped her, needs to be found and kept an eye on.

Elsewhere,

"Sombra!"

He pants as he almost fell over from the shout. His door bangs open as his father, Strongfist, growls at him.

"What did I tell you about using my training area?!" He said.

"You never use it anymore! You don't let anyone touch it! I'm not going to let it go to waste!" Sombra told him.

The father-son duo growls at each other, both ready to fight.

"After breakfast, you and me, training room!" He orders.

"Fine!" Sombra said before dashing under his father's legs.

"AND DON'T USE QUICK ATTACK IN THE HOUSE!" Strongfist shouted.

He then sighs and smiles. Sombra has come a long way. It was a shame his mother wasn't here to see this. He sighs again and started to follow his son.

'Softheart, he's so much like you. I wish you were here to see him.' He thought.

Strongfist mate passed away after laying Sombra's egg. No one could believe it. Her aura disappeared the minute the egg was laid. But Strongfist still remembers his promise to her before she lay it. He would watch over their pup no matter what. Sombra was all that was left of his mate.

"Come on, father! I bet I can beat you to the table!" Sombra called out.

"You got a long way to go, pup!" He said, using his extreme speed to beat his son.

"Come on, Dad! You know I can't use that move yet!" Sombra whines.

Strongfist smirks. He loves it when his son whines about moves he doesn't have. But he wasn't a jerk.

"I'm sure you will learn it when you evolve. Now, sit down, and let's eat." He said.

A bit later,

Sombra panted as he stood ready. His father shot an Aura Sphere at him and tries to block it. It exploded and hit him really bad. But was the kind to give him. He was told that he got kindness and stubbornness from his mother. He got his fighting power and instinct from his father. He never had to chance to meet her. But Sombra will hear stories about her. Stories that he hopes that he lived out one day.

"That's enough." His father said.

Sombra fell to one knee as he tries to remain standing. Strongfist notices his son looking weaker then he lets on and sighs.

"Go on. Explore the village for a bit." He said.

"You mean it?" Sombra asked, surprised.

"Take it as a birthday gift," Strongfist said.

Sombra had competed forgotten it was his birthday! That means he was closer to being older enough to become a Lucario! He only had one more year!

"YAHOO! Thanks, Dad!" He shouted, jumping in the air before rushing out of the training room.

Strongfist rolls his eyes. There was another reason he was letting this happen. Once Sombra was old enough next year, he would go under the training of becoming a Lucario, which means the Elders could get their paws on him. Strongfist doesn't want his son to become a warrior puppet in this war. His mate one wish to see this war end peacefully. He had tried but none of the Elders would listen to him. He only hopes that his son could compete his mate's wish.

"Sombra, I'm counting on you to fulfill your mother's wish to end this war. I know you carry her aura within you. Don't let the elders turn you into something you're not." He said.

And that's all I can think of. I would like to thank Nightshade123 for the names. She was the only one that gave me names. Well, this story made one thing clear to me. Out of all my fans and followers, it appears I don't have a lot of Pokemon Fans reading my Pokemon Stories. Even if you never played the Pokemon Series or seen the Anime, I know some of you have to at least heard about it.

And to answer Jss2141 review, Mega Evolution will appear but only after the two fully evolve. As for the Z-Moves, I'm not sure. I do have Pokemon Ultra Sun so I know about them. As for the Dynamax and Gigantamax forms, there are two reasons why they won't appear. One, I don't think there are any Dynamax and Gigantamax forms for Lucario and Gardvoir that weren't made up by fans. And two, I never play Sword and Shield. You all heard that right, I haven't played Sword and Shield. I know about them, I just don't have them.

Out of all the versions that I have played, there are two regions I haven't completed yet. The Galar Region and, believe it or not, the Johto Region. And I am aware of the Dimond and Pearl remakes. I'm just really short on cash to get them.

And one last, this one is a guest reviewer. After translating what you said, I'm going to have to say that those two will not appear in this story. There will be no Pokemon Trainers in this story at all. But, if you want me to write a Pokemon story with Ash and Sabrina, I can try. Funny enough, I actually like that pairing. Sorry, Ash/Misty Fans, I don't think Ash and Misty make a good couple. Trust me, during my time watching the Anime Series, all they did was fight.

For the next chapter...Hmm, I'm thinking on that. It might take me a while, though. Until then, Gotta Catch them All!
