Mavis sighs as she was able to slip away from her mother. She wanted to see that Riolu again. She has to thank him for everything he's done. As well as making sure no one finds out about him. She didn't get why her kind was at war with his anyways. She tries asking both her mother and Blade, but she got no clear answer. She was hoping that Riolu would have an answer.
'Now that I think about it, I never asked for his name! And I never told him mine!' She thought, reaching the training area.
She then spots him sitting on top of the rock, appearing nodding off. She giggles and walks up to him.
"Hey, Riolu!" She said, startled him.
"WAAAAH!"
Sombra wasn't expecting someone to be here and was caught by surprise. He fell backways and hit the back of his head, causing Mavis to run up to him.
"Oh my Arceus! Are you alright?" She asked, watching Sombra sitting up and rubbing the back of his head.
"Oh, Ralts! I didn't think I'll see you again." He said, trying to ignore the pain.
Mavis rolled her eyes, which were a bit hard to see before smiling.
"I wanted to see you again to thank you." She said.
"Huh?" Sombra asked, confused.
"You helped me unlock my psychic powers. I'm very grateful!." She said, bowing a bit.
"Oh! It's was no problem! I was told my mom helped out all kinds of Pokemon. I was following in her footsteps!" Sombra smiles.
"Your mother?" Mavis asked.
"Yeah, she passed away after she had me. Before I even hatch. I was told her name was Softheart." Sombra said, frowning a little.
"I'm sorry," Mavis said, feeling sad for him.
"But, I know she watching me. Aura is all around us. I'm sure my mom's aura is watching over me." Sombra said, looking into the sky, smiling.
Mavis smiles, a bit jealous that Riulo's mother was much nicer than her own.
"So you up for training again?" He said.
"Gladly! Oh, before I forget. My name is Mavis." She said.
"I'm Sombra, nice to meet you, Mavis," Sombra said, smiling.
Meanwhile, in Mavis's Village,
Blade stood off to the side as he saw Sadie sit with a group of Gallade. She had called together a meeting to tell everyone about her daughter's psychic power. However, he still didn't get how a stranger helped Mavis unlock her power. It didn't feel right.
"Are you serious, Sadie? Your daughter's psychic power has been unlocked?" A Gallade asked.
"Yes, Mavis has finally unlocked her powers. She's already getting some training down to make sure she's in full control of them." Sadie said.
"And what do you think of this, Blade? Mavis is your daughter too." Another Gallade asked.
"I, too, am proud of Mavis unlocking her psychic powers. But it was the why she unlocked it that bugs me." Blade said.
"How so?" A third asked.
"Mavis's power was locked away because of who we all treated her for not being able to use it. We made her feel like a failure like she couldn't do anything. We have forgotten that our first evolutions were known as the Feeling Pokemon. Even if we didn't say anything, she could feel our feelings." Sadie said.
The other Gallade's had to think about her words. Blade, on the other hand, added his two cents.
"She told us that it took a complete stranger to tell her about that. Both me and Lady Sadie had read her mind, but I could she's trying to hide something from us." He said.
"Are you sure?" A Gallade asked.
"Even so, I do want to thank that Pokemon. Now that she has her psychic powers, we can start training her into becoming a leader for the village.
"Lady Sadie, does this mean?" One Gallade started to ask, shocked.
"Once Mavis fully evolves in a Gardvoir, I will step down as the leader of the village." She said.
The other nods, but Blade was still wondering how Mavis unlocked her power. Before it was blocked off, he thought he saw a canine pokemon.
Back with Mavis and Sombra,
Mavis lift a few rocks and threw them at Sombra. Sombra stood ready and soon started to dodge them.
"Come on, Mavis! Give me a real challenge!" He brags.
Mavis smirks and threw a tiny rock that hits his forehead. Sombra blinks and frowns.
"Really?" He asked, with a raised eyebrow.
"Just mess with ya," Mavis said, holding up a huge rock.
'Um, where did you get that?" Sombra asked, a little worried because of the size of the rock.
Mavis smirks, and threw the rock at him. Knowing he couldn't dodge it, Sombra ready his paw.
"FORCE PALM!" He shouted and jumps towards it.
Just as Sombra threw his paw forward, a light-blue light appear, a sign of his own aura. His paw hit the rock and it started to glow light blue. It then burst apart as Sombra grins his teeth. He was able to land on his feet as the smaller rocks fell around him. Mavis looks in shock, her hand close to her mouth.
"Oh my Arceus!" She said.
'Was that aura?! I thought he need to be a Lucario to use it!' She thought.
Sombra blinks as he looks at his paw. It was no longer glowing, but he could feel something. Something that was deep inside him.
"Sombra, are you right?" Mavis asked, breaking him from his thoughts.
"Yeah! It was no problem!" Sombra said, placing his paw on his hips.
Mavis notices that his paw was a little red and rolled her eyes.
"Okay, Mr. Tough Guy, let me see that paw of yours." She said, carefully grabbing it.
Sombra didn't argue. He was hoping she didn't see it. Still, she was really nice. Nothing like what the Elders told him.
At Sombra's Village,
Strongfist stood in front of the Elders that called him to them. He had a strong feeling it was about his son.
"Strongfist, we called you today because of your son." One Elder said.
'I knew it.' He thought.
"Sombra as one more year before he starts his training into a Lucario. What do you need to know about my son?" Strongfist asked.
"You needed stop hiding it. We know his aura matches the founder of our village." Another Elder said.
"I promise Softheart to watch over our pup. She might be related to the founder, but my son will not start any train into a Lucario until he's of age. The previous Elders made that rule." He reminds them.
"Even so, this can not be ignored. Sombra must start his training, now." An Elder said.
Strongfist growls and lets his aura surround him. It was a reminder that he was one of the strongest Lucario's in the village. Some say he was as strong as the leader of the village.
"Sombra is still a pup. His training will not start until I say so!" He warns the Elders.
They didn't move. They were fully aware of how strong he was, even when he was a Riolu.
"Sombra has waited long enough."
The elders quickly bowed as another Lucario enters the room. Strongfist stood his ground as he remembers who it was.
"Marker," He said.
"Strongfist," Marker said back.
It was no secret that the two didn't like each other. Even though they were family.
"I see you still raising my little sister's pup." Marker said.
"I promise her to watch over him. Sombra is not ready." Strongfist said.
"His aura is too great to ignore as the elders said before. My nephew needs to start his training now." Marker said.
"My son will not start his training until next year. Those are the rules." Strongfist told him.
Both Lucario's aura spread around the room. The elder began to worry that a fight will break out if they don't stop them soon.
"Sir Maker! Sir Strongfist! Enough!"
Both of them turn to see a really old Lucario walking into the room, using a bone as a walking stick.
"Elder Aurason." The other elders bowed.
"Father." Marker bows.
"Aura." Strongfist nods.
Aura nods back at him. He knew he took good care of his daughter and that's all he wish for. He has sense his grandson's aura and knew how powerful he was.
"Strongfist is corrected, Sombra will start his training on his next birthday. That is my daughter's wish." He said.
"Father, Sombra can't be kept being held back. He needs to start his training..."
"Markson," Arua said, using his real name.
Marker growls and backs away. Aura then turns to the other Elders and they flinched at him. Despite his age, his aura was nothing to laugh at. He then turns back to Strongfist and smiles.
"Please, keep taking care of my grandchild." He smiles before leaving the room.
Marker soon follows his father as Strongfist sighs. He was able to avoid this time, but he wouldn't put past the Elders to try again.
Hours later,
Sombra panted as Mavis breathe a bit hard. They have been training for hours, trying to master their moves and powers. All while having fun as well. Mavis could feel that her psychic were getting stronger and will soon evolve. Sombra could feel his aura grow as well, making him wonder if fighting a psychic/fairy was helping him.
"I think we need a break," Sombra said, making Mavis nod.
Sombra lead her to a small pool of water and they started to drink and clear themselves up. Mavis even share a few berries she found with him. The two then sat at the edge of the pool, watching the sunset. Finally, Sombra stood up and stretch.
"Well, that was great training! Thanks for helping me, Mavis." He said.
"I'm glad I could help. It helped me too." She said, smiling.
"How about we meet up again tomorrow? I like this kind of training." Sombra said.
"Sounds good!" Mavis said, getting up.
Sombra flashes a smile, glad she wants to continue doing this. With a wave of goodbye, the two started to head home. Sombra smiles to himself as he thought about Mavis.
'You know, for a Ralts, she really seems to take this training seriously. She's not even a fighting pokemon. I guess dad is right, it's no fun training alone.' He thought, looking back at Mavis.
In fact, she was also thinking about today.
'Sombra really gets carried away into his training, but he is a dork at times. Still, my psychic powers have grown greatly. I wonder why?' She thought before looking back at Sombra.
The two notice and turn away, blushing a bit. For the first time in history, two Pokemon from rival clans had became friends. A friendship that will be put to the test time and time again.
And done! Also, Mavis won't evolve until a few more chapters. She going to stay a Ralts for just a bit longer. As you all can see, the Elders from both Clans are trying to get ready to train Mavis and Sombra into Leaders they want them to be. But it appears only Sombra's family is making sure that the elders follow the rules. I do plan on adding more Pokemon, but only after Mavis evolves. And please, can more people give this a chance? Am I really known for my crossovers than my single stories? I'm trying to expand my horizons here!
