Second Chances

Ginny didn't believe in second chances, in starting over. Molly had never allowed it; Tom had proved that the past can never be erased. The loss of her first kiss to Michael Corner's bumbles was a sadness she could never overcome; even Harry's attentions did nothing.
But Luna changed that, Luna who stood for everything Ginny never believed in.
"I wish that had been my first kiss," she'd said after the event, a kiss that gradually deepened and strengthened until her passion overcame all her senses.
"But it was," Luna said. "With this, you begin again."
And Ginny believed her.
