Many feelings were contained inside her heart, crashing into one another. Fear, sadness and regrets were a few of those feelings that she was now crying out as she clinged to him for support. As tears rolled down her face, her heart slowly began to feel at peace, finally freed from those feelings that have been tormenting her for so long.

During all her too-short life, she always have cared about others more than about herself and not once did she flinched at the idea of throwing her life away when innocent peoples were in danger. But now that she knew how little time she had left, she wanted to live, to take some time for her and enjoy the world around her for once. Sadly, even if she begged, she knew she couldn't change her fate. Strangely, she wasn't scared, she was relaxed and even a bit happy because he was with her.

She rested her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes long enough to feel a wave of comfort and calmness submerged her. She felt his head lightly resting against hers and his hand holding a bit tighter her own. She smiled a bit as she opened her eyes to see the sun setting. She was so grateful towards him, grateful that he had always been there for her, protecting her with his own life, always helping her out when she was in need. She wished she just could have done a bit more for him because even now, he was the one comforting her. She couldn't help but remember all the things they've been through together during the few years they've been friends. She wanted to say so much to him, tell him how much she was happy to be with him, so glad that he sticked with her despite her strong attitude that have put them in dangerous situations, grateful that he was just hisself. But she knew that she wouldn't be able to express those feelings so she said two words hoping that they would resume everything in her heart.

«Thank you»

She whispered those words to him, her voice a bit shaking, before she watched the sun disappeared, taking with it the last moments of her life. Her eyes slowly closed, her respiration and even her heart were slowing down. Nonetheless, she still felt his warmth, his presence as her mind drifted away in darkness. Her last thought was of him, for him. Her light, her courage, her friend...her love.

«Thank you Chrno...»
