A/N: Since I received so much love for this fanfic, I decided to post some more of it.
Back at Camp Half-Blood
Chiron could sense a disturbance going on right now. (no, not the force) throughout his years of training various heroes, he developed a sort of intuition or, future sight if you will that allowed him to detect when things were wrong. Especially when it came to his students.
Right now, the intuition was beating in his head so hard he had a massive headache right now.
He did what he's done for many centuries now. Assess the situation, find out the best ways to solve the situation, and keep calm.
He could send in demigods where Percy was located but the chances of them getting in the way were too dangerous. But if that same reluctance caused Percy to die then the wrath of the gods would be on him especially Poseidon.
He could not go himself; While Jason was 'in charge' he still had duties he needed to perform here at the camp. And if an attack happened while he was out the gods would blame him for the incident.
The only thing he could do is to just hope that Percy was fine. In fact, maybe his intuition was wrong and Percy had already defeated the monster and was now having a good time.
Back to Swamp.
"I am so not having a good time" Percy muttered to himself as he dodged a sweep from Bob or Iapetus as he should say. Bob came forward with a thrust with the back end of the broom which he expertly parried and tried to counterattack with his signature kick but the titan simply grabbed his leg stopping his assault.
Pain suddenly erupted from his leg. It suddenly hit him like a ton of bricks that Iapetus was the titan of pain and can inflict any degree of pain. He was now regretting forgetting that as he could barely move let alone think.
Unfortunately for Percy, the world does not stop for him. lepatus knew this and took advantage of the moment of weakness and thrust his broom like a spear seeking its prey which Percy had no time to dodge. Luckily for him, he did not have to dodge it as Blackjack suddenly appeared.
'DONU-BOSS' Blackjack screeched and rammed straight into the Titan of Pain sending him sinking into the ocean depth. Percy was feeling mixed emotions seeing Blackjack here. On one hand, he was glad that Blackjack saved him but on the other hand, he was angry at the fact that Blackjack got himself put in harm's way. He decided to be glad.
Percy climbed on Blackjack and flew into the air to get a better ground and locate the Titan of Pain when dark tendrils came in masses towards the Pegasus and Demigod which Blackjack being the badass that he is maneuvered around all of them easily, and any that got past him was cut down by Percy. They made for a perfect combination.
They could have been going on forever as the tendrils were slower than they were, and it wasn't too much of a hassle to dodge. So, it decided to step up its game a little.
Percy was busy cutting down dark tendrils when he noticed a little girl in the middle of a deadly battle. What was a girl doing in a swamp-like this?
All of Percy's instincts were telling him not to go down but he ignored them for now and approached the girl which strangely none of the tendrils attacked. The dark tendrils were still going after him and his partner, but they were attacking half-heartedly.
"Get on!" Percy ordered the girl who looked at him, face emotionless giving nothing away. Percy was bothered by it too much though; Nico was once like that when Bianca died and in a way is still like that. (Although he has Will to help knock him out of that :))
"Who are you?" the girl asked tonelessly. Percy just gave a weak grin and responded.
"Percy… Percy Jackson" he responded easily
"..."
"So... what are you doing out here in this creepy swamp? You know it's dangerous being here. There are bad people out there that would take advantage of you" what didn't need to be said was "Like that weird shadowy thing out to kill me"
"Do you believe that darkness is everywhere and corrupts all?" the girl asked randomly. Percy was taken aback at the question. Of all things he expected her to say she asks about darkness.
"Uh...I guess?" Percy answered hesitantly
"Mommy always did tell me something" she paused looking out distantly.
"Darkness can be found even in the brightest of lights. And there is no way to completely get rid of it without purging humanity altogether" she answered
Alarm bells went off in his head, but it was too late as the shadow emerged from the water. Before Percy or Blackjack could react it already had them in its jaws.
"Yum"
The only thing left behind was a Yankees cap.
