"Cat, what is that?" Ladybug giggled as she walked up to her partner. "Is that...a bow tie?" "Don't laugh, M'lady. Mari's mother got me it. I'm going to wear it on Christmas," he said.

"She's that nice girl you spend all your time with, right?" Ladybug said. "yes. We're trying on some more of these tonight," Cat said. The one he was currently wearing was red with black spots. "Wait a minute," Ladybug peered closer. "Is that a ladybug?" she pointed at it. "Sure is. I think Sabine's a fan of yours," Cat said.

Cat hummed cheerfully as walked into Mari's apartment. There were so many thing to look forward too! Christmas, spending time with Mari's family….

"What smells good?" Cat asked. "Hey, Kitty! We're making mini pizzas! And we get to choose our own toppings!" Mari walked back into the kitchen with Cat. "Hi, Sabine. I hope you had a bow-tiful day," he punned. Mari groaned, but Tom laughed heartily. "Dad! Don't encourage him," Marinette said.

"Oh, relax, honey. We could all use a little humor," Tom said. Cat gave Mari the "at least some appreciates me" look. Mari giggled.

"So, do I get to try on more bow ties tonight?" Cat asked, as he took a bite of pizza. Sabine was a fantastic cook. "Since you decorated your pizza like a bow tie, then of course,"

Mari leaned over to look at Cat's slice. "Nice work," she giggled.

The family gathered in the living room as they waited for Sabine to get the bow ties. "Why are you so excited about this anyway?" Mari asked. "I really like your family, Mari. The more things we can do together the better."

They laughed and joked until Cat's belly ached from laughter. Some were ordinary, some were simply outlandish! They finally agreed on a red and black plaid one. "Very festive," Sabine had said.

Cat went to bed that night, happier then he'd been in a while. Family sure makes a difference, he thought. He draped his arms around Marinette's waist and drifted off to sleep.

"Rise and shine!" Mari sang, as Cat slowly opened his eyes. "Wha-" he muttered, and then a pillow hit his face. He blinked in surprise, then found Mari silently shaking with laughter. "Oh, it is on, Princess!"

They whacked at each other with pillows until they were breathless. Then-rip! Feathers flew everything. Cat stared silently at the white fluffy down. "Oh, feathers," he whispered. Then Mari started imitating a chicken.

Sabine poked her head through the trapdoor as Mari did her chicken dance. "What's this? Feather's?"she asked. Mari and Cat stared at each other. "Uh, we let the chicken out of the pillow?" Mari said. Sabine sighed. "Get dressed you too. Oatmeal for breakfast!" "Yippee!"

Cat ran downstairs as Mari's mother stayed with her daughter. "He certainly has been happy lately," her mother told her. "He doesn't have a mother, and his father's very busy," Marinette explained quietly. "He likes being part of the family." "The poor dear. He's lucky to have you, Mari." Marinette nodded. Her mother was right, Cat was lucky, as Lucky as a Lucky Ladybug.

"Starbucks after school?" Mari said, once they arrived at school. She held both of Cat's hands in hers, the snow whirling around them making her feel like in a Christmas snow globe.

"That sounds terrific," Cat said, kissing her cheek. It was always hard to part ways, even though in a few minutes Cat would see Mari as Adrien.

When he walked into the classroom, he noticed the stress-lines around Mari's eyes were gone. He hummed happily under his breath until the bell rang.

Mari checked her phone, still no sign of Cat...Wham! A snowball came out of nowhere. Mari looked around, and sure enough saw a black tail above a mound of snow. She scooped up her own ball. Using her Ladybug element of surprise, she made a snow shower above Cat's head. "Aha! I win!" she did a little victory dance. "I'd call it even," Cat grinned. Mari smiled and rolled her eyes.

"Let's get some coffee, Kitty."

So this is what Christmas is all about, Cat thought, as they waited in line for hazelnut lattes. Having fun with family, friends, and even feathers.

He was so thankful to Marinette in his world, giving each day a bit of sunshine. Before the clouds had covered the sun, but thanks to Marinette those were all gone.

What would be in store for him this Christmas? Ladybug and Cat had to be extra vigilant keeping their

eyes out for Hawkmoth. It must be sad for him, Cat thought, alone with a cold heart.

As they walked home sipping their warm drinks, Cat held Mari's hand. Her heart was warm and friendly, taking in this stray kitty. The lonely ache had dropped away, leaving only laughter and warmth chasing the storm clouds away.

Mari stepped happily through the snow. Her partner and best friend at her side, she had gotten what she wanted for Christmas. It wasn't something you wrap, though. No, she loved her best friend.

One day, she would reveal her idenity, and then they could transform into Cat and Ladybug together. She knew the road was long, but with days like this she knew she could handle them.

They could face anything. Hawkmoth, akumas, snow storms, feathers. Marinette giggled to herself. The morning had been so fun. They needed more times like this. Light conquering the darkness.

Cat and Mari knew it would be the good Christmas, and there would be more bow-ties for Cat to wear, a Christmas made to wear.

"I'll race you home, Marinette!" Cat said, as he ran through the snow. Mari laughed and chased after him. He probaly win. They would try more bow-ties on Cat.

As they reached the aparment, Cat looked up at the warm lights glowing from the aparment. Yep, this is where he wanted to stay. He couldn't wait for Santa to come they're way.
