Stargirl's eyes were on one snarling creature as it wandered the streets. She faced Cyclone before one smile materialized.
''One battle. Something for us to do,'' she said. Stargirl watched as Cyclone nodded and smiled. When the latter tensed.
''You can use the Cosmic Staff to create a force field if the creature snaps at us. Even if it attempts to scratch us. Maybe the Cosmic Staff's energy blasts instead? Maybe you can just bop it on the head. I don't know. Perhaps I can summon a tornado?''
Cyclone's eyes were wide the minute Stargirl placed a gloved hand on her mouth.
''Are you finished with being a motormouth?'' Stargirl asked after she frowned.
Cyclone nodded.
The Cosmic Staff was aimed at the creature before it released one energy blast. One side of the animal's body was struck.
The creature snarled again and used its tail to contact Stargirl's arm. It viewed Cyclone's wide eyes as Stargirl fell.
Scowling, Cyclone focused on the creature and summoned one tornado the size of a skyscraper. She gestured and sent the tornado to the enemy. Cyclone remembered one barren area where Stargirl took other creatures sometimes. The corner of her mouth went up.
Cyclone sent the creature with the tornado to one of the barren areas immediately. Worry appeared in her eyes after she approached Stargirl. Eyes were on the latter while she stirred.
''The creature won't bother us again. You viewed the tornado I just summoned?'' Cyclone paused. ''Motormouth?''
Stargirl stood at a snail's pace and nodded. She wondered if the animal was going to return when Cyclone spoke quickly again.
