I never created Nutcracker : The Motion Picture.

Herr Drosselmeyer smiled after he carried a bag into one living room. A frown began to replace his smile when he viewed the empty area.
He tilted his head to one side. Herr Drosselmeyer expected his godchildren to appear any minute. He remembered their smiles if he brought gifts for them. After Herr Drosselmeyer sat, he viewed more than a handful of treats on the table.

Herr Drosselmeyer heard footsteps. His eye widened when Fritz appeared.

''If you're wondering about Clara, she's sick.''

Concern appeared in Herr Drosselmeyer's eye at a snail's pace.

''I thought I heard footsteps,'' Fritz said. He then smiled. ''You brought presents again?''

Herr Drosselmeyer nodded and opened the bag. One soldier was revealed. The same with a doll for Clara. Gifts he created for his godchildren.

Fritz took the gifts. ''Thanks,'' he said. Fritz ran with them.

Frowning again, Herr Drosselmeyer wondered if Fritz was going to remember to give the doll to Clara. Concern returned to him.
He took a treat and ate it. Perhaps treats were going to prevent him from imagining Clara's demi... His frown remained. Another treat was consumed.
''Tasty.''

Footsteps were heard again.

One eye widened as soon as Clara appeared.

''Godfather Drosselmeyer?''

''How are you?''

Clara smiled. ''I'm a bit better,'' she said. Clara approached Herr Drosselmeyer as she held the doll.

It was the return of Herr Drosselmeyer's smile.

Treats were shared.
