Avengers Tower

Tony Starks' Lab

7:59 PM

"Boss, you have a call coming in from Miss Morgan," FRIDAY's voice cuts through the whirling thoughts that've kept him busy for the last few hours. Tony still wasn't sure what to do. Morgan knew Spiderman, or had met him at the very least. Yet he remember the protectiveness in her words and how closely she'd monitored his work of the suit he was designed for the vigilante.

If she knew Spiderman's identity then that means she probably reported back to him about everything Tony was doing. Which meant all the protocols and features of the suit. He still didn't understand why she'd be in contact with the spiderling though. After finding that footage, Tony spent the following eight hours coming through as much footage of Queens local hero as he could.

Nothing out of the ordinary.

Spiderman had not other interactions with Morgan outside of their one encounter. Which left Tony wondering who the vigilante was and his connection to his daughter.

"Answer it, FRI." Tony was distracted, too caught up in his own thoughts, his tone reflected that.

"M-Mr. Stark?" Morgan's shuddering voice came through the speakers. He could hear her teeth chattering as background noise and could make out frantic muttering and labored breathing.

He suddenly grew very still, a sudden feeling of unease washing over him. Something was wrong, that much he could tell. Tony might not know his daughter very well just yet, but he is certain that she would not call him if it wasn't an emergency.

"Morgan? Are you alright," he fought down the panic clamoring up into his throat. His heart pounding rapidly against his ribcage.

"I-It's not me... S-spiderman he's hurt. Like really badly, he's loosing to much blood. I-I didn't know what to do. He can't go to a regular hospital. I need help, please..."

Spiderman.

He was hurt and Morgan was there with him, calling Tony as a last resort. Which confirmed that Morgan must know the identity of the vigilante.

"I'll have FRIDAY use your phone as a tracker, stay on the line. I'll be there soon."

...

Morgan's mind is hardly more than a frenzy of overwhelming panic, she can't seem to catch her breath no matter how many inhalations she takes. Her lungs perpetually burning. She doesn't have any medical experience, is she even doing this right?

No amount of pressure applied to the gaping would seems to be stopping the warm, sticky blood which still seeps through her bundled up shirt and oozes over her pales hands, staining her trembling fingers a vicious shade of crimson. She can imagine her hands forever painted red.

The image burns itself into her memory.

Ned's frantically babbling to Peter who seems to be dipping in and out of consciousness, but Morgan can't hear anything. The only reason she knows he's speaking is the frantic flapping of his mouth and Peter's rare movement in response. Her ears are filled with empty static, completely blotting out any outside noises.

Ned's hands are trembling against hers as he presses down on the fabric as well, he's the only comfort she has in this horrible situation.

Morgan figured it would be best to call her father, but what can he do? Sure he has Dr. Helen Cho, but there's no guarantee that she's even close by, she could be at the Avengers new compound Upstate. Would Peter even be able to survive such a drive?

Not to mention if her father took Peter to the compound in one of his Iron Man suits, she wouldn't be able to accompany him, his life is more important than anything. Morgan would insist he try and take them both when it could hinder Peter's chances of survival.

That would lead to Peter being at the Avengers Compound without either Ned or Morgan and they only had to remove the mask from Peter's face to reveal his identity. Plus they would certainly do blood work, which will reveal the mutation.

Would they give him to General Ross?

Have her friend imprisoned on the Raft? That horrible prison for enhanced individuals.

She could tell her father not to remove the mask, but would he? He seemed to adamant about discovering Spiderman's identity. He would have the authority to do anything with Peter being in his custody for the moment.

Morgan wasn't sure how long passed since her phone call, to scared too look on the phone still on call.

A flash or red and gold coming down from overhead drew her attention.

Morgan shouldn't have been so surprised to see the Iron Man armor. It made sense for him to retrieve Peter in this manner, it would be a much quicker flight to the compound than it would be to drive.

Noise seemed to kick back in because she heard Tony's voice coming through the metallic sound of the suit.

"-thing's alright, now. I'm going to fly the Spiderling to the compound. I've already got Dr. Cho waiting for him at the Med Bay. Happy's waiting outside, he'll drive you both there, but it's important to get the kid medical treatment as soon as possible, alright?"

Ned moves back and Morgan starts moving too.

"Don't remove the mask..." Morgan said lowly, her voice thick with emotion. She's not sure it he even hears her.

"Yeah, yeah. I'll make sure Spiderboy keeps his mask on, for now. You and I are going to have a chat when you get to the compound, and he-" Tony faces Peter. "Is going to tell me everything when he's not dying."

Morgan bites the inside of her cheek, nerves tingling.

Ned stares star-struck at the Iron Man suit, yet his mouth stays shut. Which is a testament to show just how worried he is about Peter if he's not word-vomiting a thousand and one questions at the Tony Stark. Outside the warehouse a car horn honks, and Ned looks towards the front door.

Iron Man gathers up Peter and motions for Morgan and Ned to get outside to where Happy is waiting for them. Reluctantly she makes herself move, not surprised to see her father quickly departing with Peter.

If being inside the warehouse was bad, it was nothing to the sheer chill that came from stepping out into the blowing winter wind. Morgan curls in on herself as she hurried towards the black car waiting for them. Ned stumbling in on the other side.

Happy says nothing. He watches them put their seatbelts on before puling the car from the side of the road. They start on the path leading to the compound.

"Holy shit...!" Ned finally utters. "That really just happened? I mean... that was literally Iron Man. And now we're going to the Avengers Compound. Oh my god..."

Morgan shoots Ned a scathing look. "Not the time for this, Leeds."

Properly chastised, he scrambles to explain. "Maybe not... but it's the best I can do to keep from thinking the worst. I mean what if P-" Ned catches himself. "Spiderman," he corrects. "Is seriously hurt. What if they can help him?"

Morgan shakes her head once, trying to banish such negative thoughts. "Don't think about that, Ned. Let's just focus on the positives. Spiderman is going to Avengers Compound and being treated by the very doctor who attends the other superheroes. He's in the best possible hands."

"I hope he'll be alright..." Ned mutters, his expression bleak.

"Me too."

A/N:

Sorry about how late this chapter is, life got hectic for awhile. Plus my birthday was near the end of last month and then Thanksgiving was right after that. Not to mention work was hectic and can't forget good ole' procrastination. So this was a shorter chapter, but I wanted to get something posted since it's been over a month. I'm going to try getting the next chapter for Penny Parker done either today or tomorrow, but we'll see. I also came up with another fanfiction idea about Peter Parker and Pepper Potts with some time travel. I'll start working on that and get quite a bit written before I begin posting, but that'll be a little bit away.

Thanks for being so patient, I'll hopefully be back soon!
