Chapter 7
Kreacher nodded and grabbed Harry by the arm before disappearing. Harry felt the familiar pull on his naval before he landed in front of a huge pair of gates. They towered over him and he was sure they were taller than the Hogwarts gates. He made to open them when he found them to be locked, he rattled them a few times and groaned in annoyance. He couldn't spell the gates open, last thing he needed was to be seen as a threat and have the Aurors called on him. Dammit.
"Excuse me, can I help you?" came a voice from beyond the gate.
Harry looked up quickly and saw a woman looking at him suspiciously. She had short brown hair, cut in the same way Tonks had cut hers, she looked tanned, but Harry figured that it could just be how the evening light hit her skin and she was wearing rather casual clothing, which consisted of cargo pants and a black tank top.
"Yes! Hi, I'm really sorry, but I need to speak to either the Headmaster of the school or the Deputy-Head, it's rather serious and time sensitive." Harry responded as quickly as he could.
"A Brit, huh? Why do you need to speak to the Headmistress?" the woman asked cautiously.
"It involves a student that went here a few years ago. Look could you please ask them to see me, my name's Harry Potter, I'm in the U.S assisting the MACUSA with a classified matter, please..."
The woman seemed to regard him for a moment before pulling out a communication mirror and walking a few meters away from Harry so that he couldn't hear the conversation. After a few minutes the woman came back.
"Headmistress will be here in a few." she said with a nod.
"Thank you, I really appreciate it."
"So, you're him, huh? Harry Potter? Hmm, thought you'd be taller." the woman commented with a small shrug.
Harry didn't have time to respond when another woman made herself known as she suddenly appeared before them.
"Harry Potter?" the woman asked turning to the nineteen year old.
Harry was rather surprised, the woman in front of him, looked young, like really young. If he had to guess an age, probably around 60 or so, how the hell was she the Headmistress at such a young age?
"Err, yes ma'am." Harry responded with a nod.
"I'm sure you can understand our curiosity and cautiousness when the famed saviour of Britain comes banging on our gates. Martha!" the Headmistress said before calling for the other woman, who at this point, Harry assumed was the Grounds Keeper much like Hagrid was at Hogwarts.
"Would you be opposed to surrendering your wand to our dear, Grounds Keeper; Martha?"
Harry shook his head and pulled his wand out of his pocket. The Holly and Phoenix feather.
"Excellent." The headmistress said with a smile as Martha took the wand from him. She then pulled her own wand out and waved it over the gates. "Now you may enter, Mr Potter."
Harry nodded and stepped through feeling the wards pass over him as he did, very powerful wards to be sure.
"Now then, Mr Potter, shall we? I believe you said this was of utmost importance."
Harry nodded again and followed the young Headmistress along the gravel path of Ilvermony. They walked for a small way before Harry saw the building, it was massive, probably as big as Hogwarts itself. Not nearly as old looking, but still had a feeling of regal importance and history. Harry continued to follow the Headmistress into the school and was surprised further. It had lights, like actual lights and not candles. Seemed as though they brought magic into the twenty first century. As they continued on, Harry found himself shocked once again, the Headmistress stopped and spoke a password, the Head office was on the first floor... Harry was pleasantly surprised.
They entered, once the password had been spoken and were taken up a few flights of stairs before they came a very cozy looking office. He looked around and was slightly mesmerized by the calming feeling he received while being in the room, there was a large window behind the Headmistress' desk with a lovely view of the field behind the school, and everything in the room gave off a feeling of grace and elegance.
"Mr Potter, please take a seat."
"Oh thank you, Headmistress...?" It was then that Harry realised he hadn't asked her name.
"Oh how rude of me, I apologise my name is Guinevere Skye."
"Ah, Headmistress Skye, thank you for taking the time." Harry said with a small bow of his head.
"Well, not everyday a hero roams our halls, Mr Potter." she responded with a small laugh.
"Still, I really appreciate it."
"Not at all, now how may I help you?"
Harry took a breath and nodded.
"Right, well, I cannot give too many details away but basically I am investigating a disturbance in a small town called, Arcadia Bay on behalf of the MACUSA. Now during my investigation I came across another mystery which I find to be rather curious. It was a missing girl, now initially I didn't think she had anything to do with my case until, I decided to look into it a little bit. I find out this girl is not only attached to my investigation I think she may be a vital piece of the puzzle."
"And this girl attends Ilvermony?" Headmistress Skye asked curiously.
"No, but she did. She goes by the name Rachel Amber. Does that ring any bells?" Harry asked.
"Amber... Rachel Amber..." Skye muttered while frowning slightly. She seemed to be at a loss. "No, unfortunately the name does not sound familiar." she said with a small frown.
Harry sighed and leaned back in his seat as he rubbed his chin.
"I thought... Ma'am would you mind, if I requested my elf to get her missing person poster?"
The Headmistress looked regarded Harry for a moment, seemingly judging his character before she nodded her head a bit.
"No, I suppose not."
"Thank you. Kreacher." Harry called out.
"Master calls?" Kreacher responded once he appeared.
"Yes, Kreacher, please fetch one of the missing person posters around Blackwell, the Rachel Amber one."
Kreacher nodded before popping away, after a few seconds he reappeared with the poster.
"Thank you, Kreacher." Harry said with a smile.
"Kreacher lives to serve." the elf responded before popping away.
Harry looked at the poster before handing over to the Headmistress before her eyes went wide.
"Oh yes I know her! Her name isn't Rachel Amber though, it's Rachel Aboril. Quite the student, she had fantastic marks on her NEWTs, could've gotten a job in any department in the Ministry, instead she chose to pursue art, hold on, she's missing?!"
"Yes ma'am. I've got reason to believe she is linked to what's happening in Arcadia Bay right now." Harry responded with a nod.
"That's..." Skye looked at the picture of one of her previous students and frowned in thought. "Just what did you see, Rachel?" she muttered softly.
"Excuse me?"
"Okay, Mr Potter, I will be honest with you. I knew someone would be coming here today and I knew they would be asking about a previous student, but I had no idea you'd be the one asking and about Rachel no less."
"What do you mean, you knew? Are you a seer?" Harry asked curiously.
"No, but I was told by one; specifically Rachel. You see on her last day here, Rachel requested a meeting with me, she informed me of her plan and what she wanted to do with her life before she stopped and her eyes rolled back in her head. The teachers and I knew about her seer abilities, so I knew that she was having a vision. She told me that she saw everything that's happened."
Harry stared at Headmistress Skye in shock.
"Wait, she saw what was going to happen?"
"Yes, she told me that she would meet an amazing young lady called Chloe, something would happen – she never specified what – and that Chloe and her would be separated until a girl called Max and you would arrive. She then told me that eventually someone important would come to me and when they did, I was to give them this." Headmistress Skye handed Harry a parchment which looked blank.
Harry looked between the parchment and Skye in clear confusion.
"Oh yes, she said that the Marauders' code would unlock the message."
Harry blinked before looking at the Headmistress.
"I'm going to need-"
"Your wand, yes. I believe the one in your holster should also be sufficient for this, wouldn't you agree?"
There was a beat of silence where the two wouldn't break eye contact with one another.
"The wards?" Harry asked.
"The wards." Skye confirmed.
Harry flicked his wrist and the death stick appeared in his hand, he ignored the look of intrigue on the Headmistress' face and touched the tip of the wand to the parchment and spoke.
"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good." he spoke the phrase and words started appearing on the page.
Hello Harry Potter.
If everything is going the way I saw it then you should be reading this letter on Thursday, and by now you should've been in contact with Max and Chloe, even though they're ignoring you right now.
Listen to me Harry, I know everything that's going on and to be honest it's going to be... it is...? 'Going to be' while I'm writing this, 'it is' while your reading this; my fault. Did that make sense? Anyway, I'm the reason everything's going crazy.
Let me explain, as I'm sure you know, there are many types of seers in the world; we all deal in the same thing but differently, for example, there are seers who see the world and future events through spoken word, but me, I see the world through honest to goodness visions.
Have been able to since I was like 9, and before writing this, I saw something that made me so happy but terrified at the same time. Now I can't tell you everything, for risk of changing destiny, but Harry you are amazing and truly a friend that Chloe and Max need, regardless of their stubborn behaviour.
So I will tell you this; your theory regarding me is true. I am dead, and right about now, Chloe and Max should be discovering my body. They're going to do something really stupid and reckless, but I need you to stop yourself from stopping them, this is the only way everything ends the way it should.
Take a breath cause you're going to need it: Harry this can have a happy ending but it will require sacrifices, I've really gone and fucked with Fate, saving Chloe from Nathan, but this needed to happen, partly because I can't let my very best friend be killed by him, but also because Chloe needed Max, she needs her still and Max needs Chloe, and they both need you.
Now, I won't tell you how I ended up saving Chloe through Max, you'll learn that soon enough... oh fuck it, I'll give you a hint, my family has a history of beast tamers, you should be able to figure out the rest on your own now.
Time is quickly running out now (Irony). Magic is strange isn't it? We're taught that everything is rooted in intent, that our desires fuel the outcome, can't turn a matchstick into a needle, if you don't want it to, can't cast a killing curse if you don't intend the other person to die. Intent is what powers everything in our world, Harry. Never forget that.
Now then, I believe you have a party to get to. Oh and don't worry about the person who killed me, they're going to finding themselves in a large heaping of trouble after all of this is said and done. Oh! And Skye's about to hand you another letter, it's for Chloe, do me a favor and make sure she reads it when everything is said and done.
One last thing, go see my father! It's critical you do this before leaving Massachusetts, Skye will give you an address if you ask.
Thanks Harry! Sorry we never got a chance to meet, would've loved to have had another magical with me at Blackwell!
See Ya!
Rachel Amber (Aboril)
P.S Victoria loves your sketch!
Harry finished reading the letter and felt torn, she was killed, but she saw it coming and in spite of that lived her life to the fullest. She was one of the bravest people Harry was sad he never got to meet. He read over the letter again and quicker this time, skimming the unimportant sections.
She somehow managed to save Chloe, through Max, her family has a history of taming beasts and everything can be corrected as long as there was a sacrifice? He was sure he knew what she meant by some of her cryptic messages.
He turned back to the Headmistress. "She sounds amazing." he said sincerely.
"She was." Skye responded with a small smile.
"I'd better go, she mentioned that I should go speak to her father before leaving the state." Harry said gesturing to the letter. "Oh she also mentioned that you'd have another letter for me to pass on?"
"Yes, I do." The Headmistress opened a drawer in her desk and pulled out an envelope and handed it to Harry. "Thank you, also if I could, get her father's address?"
-Magic is Strange-
Once the two had finished all their discussions, Harry was led back to the gate where, Martha the Grounds Keeper was waiting. Once he was once more handed his regular wand he nodded at the two and made his way out of the school yard. He thanked them for their help one last time before calling Kreacher and apparating to the location of the address.
Once he landed, Harry looked around and saw that he was in a suburban area, nice, looking houses and yards, he did notice that the sun had completely set at this point and he needed to get a move on lest he be late for the party... for some reason.
He walked up to the house number that Headmistress Skye had provided him with and knocked on the door.
"God dammit!" he heard from the other side of the door before it was yanked open and a man who looked to be in his thirties yelled. "I don't want any!"
Harry was momentarily stunned before he decided to try speaking to the man.
"Err, good evening sir, my name is Harry Potter... I was told to come here-"
"Holy shit, you're really him?!" the man asked his face twisted in shock.
"Uhm... yes sir."
The man, who he assumed was Rachel's father stared at him for a little while before walking back inside and leaving the door open. Harry was left standing in the doorway, both confused by the sudden disappearance and complete attitude shift.
"Well? What the hell you waiting for?!"
Harry frowned and stepped into the home, before closing the door softly behind him.
"Come on, we haven't got all damn night!" Harry then followed the yelling man's voice to the living room where he found him sitting on a couch and lighting a cigarette.
"Err, sir... I don't really have the time-"
"Rachel told me about you." the man said, cutting Harry off. "Told me that a Brit would be here to ask about the family business a few months before she... y'know. I miss her, you know? Her laugh, her smile, the way she would damn near make me declare bankruptcy because 'Dad! I need a new wardrobe, everything's so last season!' But she was my angel, my light, my... everything. The day she came here and told me about her vision. I forbade her to go to that damned school. Knowing that I would never see her again."
Harry watched the man in front of him and felt his heart go out to him, he took a seat on one of the other couches and as Mr Amb- Aboril took another drag from his cigarette.
"But she was adamant, 'Dad! I'm going to meet someone I love there!' Damn bleeding heart. Tried to make her hard, from a young age I told her, boys are gross, don't ever let one get your heart, and what does she do? Turn around and fall in love with some punk named Frank! Completely going against everything I taught her... just like her damn mother, chose me even when her dad said I was no good."
Harry was shocked by that news, he had assumed Rachel's lover had been Chloe, not Frank.
"Now I'm alone, her mother passed away when Rachel was 14, it was hard for her. I tried my best, but I'm sure you can see, I'm not exactly the most nurturing type. But I never thought I'd be such a horrible father that my only daughter would choose death over me..."
Harry saw the it clearly, hell he had personal experiences with it and knew that this man blamed himself, even though judging by Rachel's character there was nothing he could've said that would've stopped her.
"Listen, Mr Aboril, it isn't your fault. Rachel, she chose to do what she did, I can only assume because she wanted to love and be loved by that man, be there for her best friend Chloe and live the best life she could before... what happened." Harry said softly.
"Yeah, I know that. Damn brat, always did what she wanted, that one! 'No, you can't have a cookie!' and what she do? Just levitate it over to herself, her mother just chuckled 'Oh honey, she's coming into her own, one cookie isn't bad.' Bah, those damn..."
Harry heard the grumblings of an irritated old man, but saw the smile of a man happy to still have the memories of the people he loved most in the world.
"Right! The family business!" Harry blinked, wait, they were switching gears that quickly. "For centuries, the Aboril family have been beast tamers, I, myself am a beast tamer. We handle everything with assistance in Dragon Reserves to an infestation of Cornish Pixies. Now very recently someone had smuggled a rare fae into the country, I'm not even a hundred percent sure what breed it was. But it was rather tame, didn't cause any fuss. I was scheduled to deliver it to Norway, but being the damn fool I am, I decided to bring it home to show to Rachel before I sent it off. It was pretty, y'see."
Harry listened, he knew he had to listen to this in it's entirety so that he could piece the puzzle together.
"She popped over, took one look at it and told me that I was amazing! She asks for something to drink, I go to the kitchen to be a good dad, next thing I know, that little brat had taken the fae and disappeared with it. Damn near cost me my job! A few days later, I get the notice that she's gone missing. Haven't heard head or seen tail of that fae since."
Harry leaned back in his seat and thought. He frowned when he remembered his conversation with Luna, could that Fae have been able to control... and Rachel came from a family of beast tamers... And she took it because she had seen... and had trained the fae to find Max when the moment was... holy fucking shit... Holy .Fucking .Shit...
"Holy Fucking Shit!" Harry yelled standing from his seat. "I'm sorry Mr Aboril, I've got to go, but thank you so much for your time and telling me about Rachel!"
"Damn rude, brat." Mr Aboril muttered as Harry rushed out of the house and turned, making sure to apparate to the parking lot of the Academy.
"Woah! Dude that was wild!" he heard behind him. Turning, Harry saw some of the skaters sitting on a car nearby and smoking a lot of weed.
"They'll think they were high... probably." Harry reasoned as he rushed towards the building which had the strobe lights and pumping music coming from within it.
He made his way into the building and saw a line of students, a coat service? Seriously. He walked in the building further and was assaulted by the loud music and brightly coloured lights. He looked around the room and couldn't make heads or tails of anything happening in the fucking building. Like who the fuck is swinging from the ceiling? How the ever living hell did they get up there?! And why isn't anyone stopping them?
Whatever, Harry figured that they'd learn a valuable lesson should that guy loose his grip and fall. Harry proceeded to walk deeper into the party, not seeing anyone he recognized and decided to continue walking. As he walked along the pool he saw a large section of the pool had been sectioned off. As he got closer he realised that it was some sort of VIP section.
"Christ, these guys have massive egos." he said to himself as he got closer, when he approached what he assumed was the entrance, he heard two girls in front of him arguing. One sat at the desk, a list of names in front of her and the other arguing with the first girl.
"Sorry, but this is the VIP section. Members only. Mmm-kay?"
"Sorry, but I'm on the list. Mmm-kay?"
"Wait, Max?!" Harry called out over the music.
Turning, Max's face took on an expression of surprise when she saw who had addressed her.
"Harry?! What are you doing here?!" she asked loudly.
"I- I was told to come here by... a reliable source. What are you doing here?!"
Max shot a look at the gate-keeping girl and dragged Harry to the bathroom besides the VIP section where there seemed to be a whole range of colourful individuals.
When Max was sure the others in the bathroom wouldn't care enough to butt into their conversation she pulled him down to whisper in his ear.
"We found Rachel... Harry, she's dead." Max whispered sadly.
Harry nodded, before responding. "I know." he told Max quietly. "I can't really explain how I know at this very moment, it's a very long story and we're short on time. But I can safely say I know how you got your abilities as well." Max looked like she had more she wanted to ask but Harry shook them away. "We don't have the time. Max, what else did you find?"
"Okay, fine... Chloe and I had a few leads and eventually found a link between the day Nathan bought the drugs from Frank, the night Kate Marsh got drugged and David's investigation... well, he's a stalker. It took us to an old barn, but there was some sort of bunker underneath it. We found drugs, needles, some sort of camera set up as well as files, like a lot of files."
"Files?" Harry asked with a frown.
"Yeah, they had pictures of girls in them. We found files labelled 'Kate', 'Rachel' and 'Victoria'. The Kate and Rachel files had pictures of them, both of them looked out of their minds, like they had no idea what was going on. We think Nathan, took them, drugged them to the gills and took pictures of them... it was fucking sick." Max informed him in a tone of disgust.
"And the Victoria file? Was there anything in there?" he asked. Everything so far lined up, the reason behind Kate Marsh's drugged like state at the last Vortex party and how she couldn't remember anything. But something still wasn't adding up.
"No, it was empty, but we think Nathan's targeting her next."
Harry frowned but nodded with Max's assessment, someone was targeting Victoria and they had to get into that VIP section to warn her.
"Alright, I'm assuming you were trying to get into the VIP section to warn her?"
"Yeah, but also to look for Nathan." Max said with a nod.
"Alright let's go."
"But that girl won't let me in."
"Don't worry, I've got that covered." Harry said with a nod as he dragged Max out of the bathroom and back to the gate-keeper.
"Hello, Harry Potter. I should be on the list." he informed the girl with a smile.
"Oh... Oh! Yeah, Courtney told me to keep an eye out for a British hottie. I'm guessing that would be you. I'm Sarah, by the way." she said with a flirtatious smile.
"Pleasure to meet you, Sarah and yes, I assume it would be. Oh, and this is Max, my plus one." Harry said with a gesture to the brown haired girl behind him.
"I'm sorry but I doubt she's on the list." Sarah said with a small dirty look at Max.
"Now, that just won't do. Could you perhaps just check, please?" Harry asked, while he discreetly got his wand out and shot a compulsion spell at the girl.
He saw her eyes glaze over for a second before she just shook her head.
"You know what, Courtney's decided to go off on her own and get drunk, why should I care if Max Caulfield gets in or not." Sarah said with a huff of annoyance.
"Go right in and please enjoy the party." she said with a smile directed at Harry and a nod at Max.
The two walked through the curtain and took a look around. Harry saw a girl passed out drunk on one of the couches set up, evidently he wasn't the only as Max started complaining about the fact that they didn't give two shits about a vulnerable girl and were all just going on with their own drinking.
Harry agreed and shot an Eneverate charm at the girl, waking her immediately. She looked around in a confused manner before she stood and started complaining about her bitchy friends who just left her on the couch while they probably went off to hook up with some dick heads. Harry shook his head at her priorities before Max tapped his shoulder and pointed to a wildly dancing Victoria.
Seeing her just let loose, Harry had to admit, she was rather pretty when she forgot whatever responsibilities where placed on her shoulders. They walked over to her and Max got her attention.
"Sorry, Max. Vortex Club members only." she stated, hostility clear in her tone.
"Sorry, I'm on the list." Max responded just as curtly.
"I'm taking you off."
"Jesus Christ! We don't have time for this!" Harry yelled cutting both girls off.
"What's your problem?!" Victoria asked frowning at Harry, then looking back to Max. She then raised a brow. "Oh, I see. So the two of you, huh?"
"What?! No! Definitely not! Victoria, just..." Max sighed tiredly. "I'm looking for Nathan, we think he dosed Kate at the last party!" she informed Victoria.
"What?! That's so fucking stupid! You're always blaming him for shit he didn't do. I'm the only person here who cares what Nathan is going through! I'm not the only problem child at Blackwell!"
"This is bigger than your problem child complex, Victoria."
"I'm not perfect, okay? I'm a teenager at an art school. I'm only here to become a photographer and get famous." Victoria said defending herself.
"No one is blaming you, Victoria. Look, I need you to listen to me. You're life is in serious danger. I know Nathan is your friend, but he's really dangerous. Please, look if you see him, text Max, alright?" Harry said cutting in before the two had an entire argument about nothing.
"And why should I believe you?"
Harry took a step and got really close to Victoria. "I've lost one friend to someone she considered a friend I will be damned if I let something like that happen again. Please."
The two locked eyes, emerald green and sky blue seemingly having a battle of wills before Victoria blinked and sighed softly.
"You're lucky we're friends." she said in a soft tone, that only Harry could hear. "Fine, I'll believe you and if anything happens I'll text Max immediately. Deal?"
Harry sagged in relief and gave Victoria a short hug before nodding. He then turned to Max and saw Chloe off in the background. He turned back to the blonde and told her he'd explain everything when he could and pointed out the blue haired girl to Max.
"Okay, I'll see you then. Au revoir..."
Harry smiled and made to follow Max through the crowd.
"There you are. Chloe, Nathan isn't here. Nobody's seen him tonight."
"He's definitely not upstairs or in the lockers." Chloe responded in a cold tone that made Harry frown. Then he remembered that Rachel had said that the pair were going to do something stupid and reckless when they discovered her body... Chloe wasn't planning on killing Nathan was she? And he was just supposed to let that happen?!
"And just the hell is he doing here?" Chloe sneered as she looked over at Harry.
"Chloe, listen to me, I know you're probably too upset to hear me out right now, but you have to think about this logically." Harry tried.
Before Chloe could respond though, they were interrupted by the arrival of Mark Jefferson.
"So you did make it, Max, Harry." he greeted with a nod and a smile.
"Oh hey, Mr Jefferson..."
"Um... are you three okay? You look like you're on a mission."
"Oh we were just looking for Nathan." Max responded with a small smile.
Harry and Chloe stepped back and waited for the conversation to commence, but Harry couldn't help but wonder, just why it was that he had a very bad feeling about what was going to happen.
"Ah, I didn't know you all were pals with him. I haven't seen him since this afternoon, he did seem rather upset, let's talk later, Max. I have to announce the winner of the 'Everyday Heroes' contest. I do wish you had entered, Max. You have to build up your resume and portfolio, but I know you will. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm almost on." With that the handsome professor nodded to the trio and headed off in the direction of the stage.
Chloe began leading Max out of the VIP area just as Jefferson approached the stage, there was immediate cheer from the students when they saw him and he responded by thanking them and giving a small speech. It was a rather generic, 'You're all winners' kind of speech and Harry turned to look for Chloe and Max when he heard the winner of the contest."
"Victoria Chase!" Jefferson announced loudly.
Harry was both surprised at the hostility that was shown as well the general silence as Victoria gave her acceptance speech. He turned to look at her and felt himself feel, pity for her. She alienated herself, making herself some sort of Queen Bee at the expense of genuine connections at the school and everyone seemed to hate her. Harry frowned when he heard someone in the back yell that Victoria sucked, and no one stood to her defence, hell not even her friends said anything. He would bring this up with the blonde at a later date, for now he had to get to Max and Chloe.
He did a head count and couldn't see Chloe's striking blue hair anywhere, as such he rushed out of the building. As he left the pulsating room and was met by the cooler air he saw the two of them headed towards the parking lot and quickly ran up to them.
"Chloe! Max!" he yelled out as he approached them.
"Fuck off dude, we're busy! Where the fuck is Nathan?!"
"That's my point, Chloe! Think about this clearly! Do you really think Nathan, big mouthed, 'my dad owns your ass' Prescott is the type to pull something like this?! He's way to brash for something like this! This was done by someone else, I just don't know who! But whoever they are, they've been ahead of all of us! Nathan is too brash to be this cunning!" Harry said trying to reason with the girl.
Chloe froze mid-step and turned to Harry, she did not look happy at all and was about to yell at him when Chloe's phone dinged with a message notification.
"glad you got one last look at rachel, nobody will ever find her again after im done."
"Oh Christ, Nathan's just texted me... he says there won't be any evidence left when he's done! Max we have to go!" Chloe screamed as she grabbed the smaller girl and made for her truck.
"Max, don't forget! The necklace!" Harry yelled at their retreating backs before he heard Chloe's truck rev up and the tires squeal on the asphalt before they disappeared into the night.
Sighing in exhaustion Harry looked up at the night sky and blinked in confusion before frowning in shock. Were there two fucking moons in the sky right now?! Why the fuck are there... He froze, realities colliding... He swore but knew there wasn't anything he could do at the current moment and turned back to look at the loud building. He had to have a few words with Victoria real quickly.
He quickly made his way back to the building and manoeuvred his way through the crowd and once more entered the VIP area, he looked over the smaller crowd and frowned. Where was Victoria? He walked through the drunk teens, horny couples and dude bros picking fights with one another and looked for the pixie haired blonde. But he couldn't find her. He suddenly had a really bad feeling creep into the pit of his stomach.
He went around questioning everyone he saw before he ran into Taylor, Victoria's other blonde friend.
"Hi, sorry I don't think we've met. I'm Harry."
"Hello Harry, the name's Taylor."
"Nice to meet you, tell me; you haven't by chance seen Victoria anywhere have you?" he asked nonchalantly, but felt that feeling of despair rise higher and higher within him.
"Um, no. I saw her when she gave her speech, like everyone else, but then she disappeared with Mr Jefferson." Taylor said with a small shrug. "Probably gonna go bang for her victory... lucky bitch."
Harry heard enough and rushed out of the VIP area once again, he rushed out of the building, violently bumping into people as he went along and came to a halt outside before running out to the parking lot. He looked around multiple times but didn't see Jefferson anywhere. Harry cursed loudly and rubbed his face with his palms. Why hadn't he placed a tracker on Victoria especially when he knew she would be the next target?! Fuck, he was fucking dumb!
He didn't know what to do anymore, since he couldn't relax until he knew what was going on and he couldn't just stand around and do nothing. Then he felt it, the pull of Max's ability but then it stopped, in fact, the pull itself wasn't like the ones from before, this time it was weaker... way weaker. Almost as if Max couldn't handle rewinding. He felt it again, this time, weaker than last one. What the fuck was going on?!
