Chapter 11

Elizabeth twisted herself free. "Will!"

The wreckage landed into the sea.

Elizabeth rushed Barbossa and he grabbed her wrists.

"Welcome back, Miss. You took advantage of our hospitality last time. It holds fair now you return the favor." He said as he shoved her to some pirates, they hooted their approval.

"Elizabeth!" Rose yelled as she struggled against some of the pirates that held her in place.

"Barbossa!" Will shouted standing on the rail, soaking wet. He jumped down and grabbed a pistol. "She goes free!"

Rose gasped softly, her eyes wide. She couldn't believe that Will was still alive. How in the world did he survive the explosion?

"What's in your head, boy?" Barbossa questioned looking at the young man as if he had grown another head.

"She. Goes. Free."

"You've only got one shot - and we can't die."

"Don't do anything stupid." Jack said under his breath to Will.

Will glanced over at Jack. "You can't. I can." Will said, putting the muzzle under his chin.

"Like that."

Barbossa and his crew looked at the young man with a look of confusion. "Who are you?"

"No one. He's no one. A distant cousin of my aunt's nephew twice removed. Lovely singing voice, though. Eunuch."

Elizabeth glanced narrowly over at Jack, realizing he had his own agenda.

"My name is Will Turner. My father was Bootstrap Bill Turner. His blood runs in my veins."

Barbossa glanced narrowly at Jack.

Jack shook his head lightly.

"He's a spitting image of ol' Bootstrap Bill come back to haunt us." Ragetti said, his eye widening.

Will cocked the pistol. "On my word do as I say or I'll pull this trigger, and be lost to Davy Jones' Locker."

"Name your terms, Mr. Turner." Barbossa said, looking at him.

"Elizabeth goes free!"

"Yes, we know that one. Anything else?"

Will hadn't thought that far ahead.

Jack tried to signal him surreptitiously.

"Her sister will go free, and the crew, the crew are not to be harmed."

Jack slumped his shoulders knowing that Will had sealed his fate.

Barbossa smiled, stepping forward towards Will. "Agreed."

The Black Pearl laid at anchor, close to a small island.

Elizabeth was prodded to the edge of the plank by a bunch of sword wielding pirates. Her sister and Jack were next in line.

Will shook loose of the pirates that held him, spitting out his gag. "Barbossa, you lying bastard! You swore she'd go free!"

"Don't dare impugn me honor, boy! I agreed she'd go free, but it was you who failed to specify when nor where!"

The pirate placed the gag back across Will's mouth.

Barbossa turned back to Elizabeth. "Though it does seem a shame to lose something so fine, don't it lads?"

Elizabeth felt the slighted hope of reprieve.

"So I'll be having that dress back before you go."

Elizabeth hesitated for a moment before stripping it off, leaving her in her silk slip. She threw it at him. "It goes with your black heart."

Barboss took the dress, feeling it. "Oh, it's still warm." Barbossa tossed the dress to a crew member then turned to watch.

Elizabeth moved stoically out to the end. She paused for a moment, locking eyes with Will. She went to say something.

"Too long!" Bo'Sun said, slamming down on the end of the plank, causing Elizabeth to plunge off the other end and into the sea.

The pirates laughed and so did Jack.

Rose got up onto the plank and jumped into the sea with her sister.

Jack felt himself lifted up onto the end of the plank. "I really rather hoped we were past all this."

Barbossa stepped up onto the plank beside him, throwing an arm around his shoulders. "Jack, Jack... Did ya not notice? That be the same little island that we made you Governor of on our last little trip."

"I did notice."

"Perhaps you'll be able to conjure up another miraculous escape. But I doubt it." Barbossa drew his sword. "Off you go."

Jack hesitated, not really wanting to do this. "Last time you left me a pistol, with one shot."

"By the powers, you're right. Where be Jack's pistol? Bring it forward."

A pirate handed Jack's pistol to Barbossa.

"Seeing as there's three of us, a gentleman would give us three pistols."

"It'll be one pistol, as before, and you can be the gentleman, an' shoot the ladies, and starve to death yourself!" Barbossa tossed the pistol high over Jack's head.

It splashed into the sea causing Jack to go wide eyed and dived in after it. Jack grabbed his pistol from under the water before surfacing.

Jack, Rose, and Elizabeth made it back onto the beach standing on the sand.

Jack looked back at the sea watching the Pearl drifting away. "That's the second time I've had to watch that man sail away with my ship."

Rose rolled her eyes letting out a soft scoff shaking her head.

Elizabeth walked with her sister away from Jack.

"What do we do now?" Rose asked softly as they walked slowly, shuddering a little as her wet clothes made her cold.

Elizabeth let out a soft breath. She shook her head lightly as she walked. "Father and Commodore Norrington are looking for us."

Rose nodded her head softly. "Yes, they are. But I am sure that they are more worried about your safety…"

"Rose… I am sure father is worried about your safety and the same with Commodore Norrington."

"James… he cares about you Rose… he proposed to you… he loves you…"

Elizabeth looked over at her sister seeing the look on Rose's face. "You… you care about him."

Rose let out a shaky breath and shook her head lightly. "It doesn't matter." She said softly.

Elizabeth let out a groan as they came upon their footprints going away due to the water.

"It's really not all that big, is it?" Jack questioned reclined on the beach, his pistol in parts, drying on his scarf. He started to reassemble it.

"If you're going to shoot me, please do so without delay." Elizabeth said, looking at him.

"Is there a problem between us, Miss Swann?"

"You were going to tell Barbossa about Will in exchange for a ship!"

"We could use a ship. The fact is, I was going to NOT tell Barbossa about bloody Will in exchange for a ship, because as long as he didn't know about bloody Will, I had something to bargain with – which now no one has, thanks to bloody stupid Will."

"Oh."

"Oh." He reassembled his pistol and began to head inland.

Rose and Elizabeth followed Jack.

"He still risked his life to save ours -"

"Ha!"

"So we have to do something to rescue him!"

"I agree." Rose said softly letting out a soft breath as they walked.

"Off you go, then. Let me know how that turns out." Jack moved towards a clump of palm trees.

The sisters followed Jack as he walked.

"But you were marooned on this island before - weren't you? So we can escape in the same way you did then!"

Jack whirled to face her. "To what point and purpose, young missy? The Black Pearl is gone. And unless you have a rudder and a lot of sails hidden in that bodice…" He glanced at her.

Rose narrowed her eyes, clearing her throat in irritation.

"...unlikely - young Mr. Turner will be dead long before you can reach him." Jack turned and spotted a tree walking up next to it. Using the tree as a starting point, he began to pace off the ground.

"But you're Captain Jack Sparrow! You vanished from under the eyes of seven agents of the East India Company! You sacked Nassau port without even firing a shot! Are you the pirate I've read about or not?"

Jack stopped at a sandy spot on the ground. He jumped up and down on it a couple of times, satisfied that he was at the right spot.

"How did you escape last time?"

"Last time... I was here a grand total of three days. All right? Last time…" Jack heaved up the trap door to reveal a pit. Inside of it were barrels and bottles of rum… all covered with dust and cobwebs long since abandoned. "...the rumrunners who used this island as a cache came by, and

I was able to barter passage off." He jumped into the pit disappearing into the tunnel. "From the looks of things, they've long been out of business." He grabbed some bottles and made his way out of the pit. "Probably have your bloody friend Norrington to thank for that." He climbed out of the pit and walked past Elizabeth and Rose to the beach.

Rose let out a soft scoff shaking her head. "So much for the notorious pirate."

"So that's it, then? That's the secret grand adventure of the infamous Jack Sparrow? You spent three days lying on the beach drinking rum?" Elizabeth questioned following Jack.

Jack turned to them with his arms open wide. "Welcome to the Caribbean, love." He said walking on.

Elizabeth moved quickly, getting in front of him walking backwards.

Rose followed slowly, shaking her head lightly.

"So! Is there any truth to the other stories?"

"Truth?" Jack pulled up his sleeves and showed his scars. "No truth at all! We'll stay alive a month, maybe more. Keep a weather eye open for passing ships, and our chances are fair."

"And what about Will? We have to do something!"

"You're absolutely right." Jack tossed her a bottle and toasted. "Here's luck to you, Will Turner!" He took a drink.

Elizabeth frowned at the bottle. An idea comes to her.

Rose looked at her sister and knew exactly what her sister was planning.

Elizabeth sat down and glanced over at Jack before singing softly. "Drink up me hearties, yo ho …"

Rose slowly sat down bringing her knees up to her chest.

"What was that, Elizabeth?" Jack questioned looking over at the younger sister.

"It's Miss Swann. Nothing. Just a song I learned as a child when I actually thought it would be exciting to meet a pirate."

"Let's hear it."

"No."

"Come on. We've got the time. Let's have it!"

"No. I 'd have to have a lot more to drink."

Rose let out a soft chuckle.

"How much more?" He questioned taking a swig while smiling at her.

"Oh much more than you think Sparrow." Rose said, shaking her head lightly.

This is the end of Chapter 11. I hope that you guys enjoyed it. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. And let me know who you think Rose should end up with. I'm still up for debate if she should be with Norrington or Jack. There will be a lot more work in future chapters. I promise that I'll update soon. Until next time.
