A fateful encounter
Sargasso a swampy backwater planet filled with vicious beasts and all sorts of bugs for on this planet only one race inhabited the planet the Morts. The Morts were small orange fuzzy creatures with big green eyes. The Morts spent most of their time working making gelatonium at their gelatonium plant it is what they do best. Sadly, the times they live in they do not get paid enough due to the Nefarious empire ruling the galaxy.
No one in the galaxy has ever stood up to their overlord before on the fear of getting killed or being imprisoned. Yet among the Morts there was a little white furred lombax girl with eyes as blue as sapphires who was adopted by the Morts her name was Rivet.
She had never seen one of her kind before for that did not bother her that much because the Morts treated her as one of their own. Rivet was at the gelatonium plant watching the Morts work the day away it was just another usual day for the Morts. Rivet had a Mort that was like a mother to the little girl she was sitting with Rivet and noticed something was on her mind.
Mort looked at Rivet and said, "What's the matter sweetie is there something on your mind?" Rivet replied with a sigh and looked back at Mort "Why does no one stand up to that bully?" Mort replied with a panicking tone "Because we just can't and none of us want to end up dead or worse." Rivet scoffs "I don't care I would rather die free than live in fear."
Mort heard a familiar sound approaching and not the pleasant sound as she looked up, she saw The Emperor's ship is landing on their landing pad. Mort gulped and grabbed Rivet's hand "Come on up we better hide you!" Rivet refused to get up "No I won't hide I'm not afraid of him!" Mort looked at her with disappointment "You will do what I say it is for your own good now come on sweetie!"
As the Emperors ship lands on their landing pad Mort had no choice but to use tough love "Listen if you don't go and hide you are grounded!" Rivet looked at Mort with confliction knowing she has already lost she admits defeat and runs off to go hide.
The Morts stopped what they were doing, and all got in a group not too far from the landing pad ready to greet their Emperor in fear.
As the Emperor's ship opens a menacing skeletal figure like robot walked out as well with a smaller one that hovers and is carrying a board for notes of sort. He has arrived the emperor himself along with his loyal assistant ready to attend to business.
"Greetings your majestic majesty" the Mort leader replied, "How was your trip?" Emperor Nefarious yelled at the group of Morts in a menacing tone "AWFUL!" The Morts legs were starting to shake it was no surprise they would his cruelty knows no bounds.
Rivet was told to hide little did Mort know she was close by eavesdropping unseen. Mort swallowed and replied as brave as he can "Well here is your pay 80% out of our hard-earned bolts." The young lombax girl clenched her fists watching this cruelty as Mort started to get out their hard-earned bolts.
Emperor Nefarious laughs with an evil grin "No I changed my mind you will give me 90% now!" Mort looked at the emperor with panic "But that is to much we work hard enough as it is!"
The Emperor's assistant looks at Mort with her arms crossed "Need I remind you what happened to the last inhabitants on this planet that pissed off the Emperor we don't want that do we?" Mort knew he could not win in this argument, so he had no choice but to take that extra 10% earnings to give as well.
"See not so hard is it now" the Emperor snatches the bolts he was owed in satisfaction. Rivet could not take it anymore seeing her family being ripped off like this, so she came out and revealed herself to everyone with a face full of rage.
"STOP!" she yells out. Emperor Nefarious looked at the little lombax girl with curiosity "a lombax oh and a female one to maybe this backwater planet does have some surprises." Rivet's motherly Mort runs to her "What are you doing here I told you to hide!"
Rivet pointed at the emperor in rage "How dare you bully my family like this i should kick your metal butt!" The Morts gasped as she heard her disrespect their overlord knowing someone is going to pay for it now. Her Mort mother covered her mouth and begged for the emperor's forgiveness "Don't mind her she is just a kid." Rivet takes Morts mouth off her mouth and looks at the emperor straight in the eyes. "I'm not scared of you bully!" Emperor Nefarious looks at the little lombax girl with curiosity "how old are you?" "Younger than you to not rust away" she smirks.
"Oh you are a tough one do you know what I do to ones who defy me!"
Rivet pokes her tongue out. The emperor grabs a hold of her small neck lifting her up into the air bringing her to his eye level. "Listen you little furball you are nothing you will always be alone your life is meaningless!" Rivet was gasping for air as she was being in the hold of the emperor's grip.
Her Mort mother begged on her knees and cried "Please she is just a kid don't kill her!" The emperor heard Mort's words loud and clear but yet he chose to ignore them. "A little more pressure and your done the sad excuse of your life extinguished!" Rivet was really feeling breathless now she could die any minute now.
"But since you are a dumb kid and obviously you have learnt your lesson, I'm sure by almost getting choked to death so I spare you miserable furball" The Emperor releases Rivet throwing her on the floor. The emperor looks at the Mort leader and offers a hand to him "100% this time!" Rivet wanted to stand up to him again, yet she still needed to get her breath back.
Her mother Mort gave her a gentle slap on the wrist "What are you doing you almost got yourself killed?!" "Ouch Rivet yelled." I was just standing up to that bully and my family!"
Mort looked at her sternly "Come on we are taking you to your room until this disaster of a transaction is done!" Rivet sighed she knew she was not strong enough to face him head on and admitted defeat "fine stupid robots!"
Mort took Rivet inside her room it was awkward silence when the two entered the room. Rivet went to lay down in her bed she was exhausted by that near death experience. "Can't believe he is going to get away with it again" Mort replied with a sigh "Yeah well no surprise there."
Rivet sighed and remembered what he said about how she meant nothing, and you will always be alone. "No that is not true rust bucket there is more than this galaxy out there." Rivet looks at one of her hands and clenches it into a fist "I swear this is not the last time you have seen of me you big bully and you are wrong" She looks at Mort and asks "I'm tired can have some private time I want to take a nap" she yawns loudly. Mort replied and gave her a kiss on her forehead "of course I can, and it is not your fault on what happened."
Rivet sighed "no it is thanks to me you guys lost all your bolts this time and I only wanted to help but I made it worse." Mort pats her head "It's ok I know you don't like injustice like that we are just glad you are alright." Rivet smiles a bit "True heh well time for me to get some rest." Mort begins to leave the room and turns the lights off leaving the little lombax girl to rest.
