Chapter 2

Chahiro had to spend the rest of the day in the principal's office along with her parents... Which caused her mother and father to become furious... When they found out the reason was because she had attacked a student for bullying her, her father blew up angrily...

" What the hell kind of school are you running here?!" Mr. Onigo demanded angrily, " My daughter shouldn't be punished for standing up for herself!"

" Mr. Onigo, I assure you, it is very improper behavior for a young lady to beat another young lady simply because of a harmless teasing!" Ms. Necara said snobbily.

Ms. Necara was unfortunately, Naira's mother, so Chahiro new that both mother and daughter were out to get her...

" Define harmless..." Mr. Onigo demanded darkly...

" I... I don't know, Naira didn't give me any details..." Ms. Necara said avoiding eye contact.

" I suggest you tell us the truth..." Mrs. Onigo demanded coldly, "Otherwise, Ms. Necara, you might find yourself in a similar situation as your horrible daughter..."

" Naira may have said something about your daughter getting herself pregnant and getting rid of the baby four years ago..." Ms. Necara said softly.

" What?!" The normally calm and collected Mrs. Onigo exclaimed angrily, " Our daughter is a virgin! She's never even been on a date before! And she was only eleven years old four years ago! What is wrong with you?!"

" My deepest apologies, but still, your daughter has displayed some very violent behavior..." Ms. Necara said softly, " I believe that she needs a syciatric evaluation..."

" I think we're done here..." Mrs. Onigo said coldly, " You'll be hearing from our lawyers, Ms. Necara..."

" No wait!" Ms. Necara said frantically, " Please, perhaps I was out of line... What can I do to make it up to you?!"

" A public apology from you and your daughter..." Mrs. Onigo demanded, " That's a quite fitting punishment for your daughter..."

" Done..." Ms. Necara said softly, " I'll make sure to have an assembly right away..."

" You do that..." Mr. Onigo said coldly, " Chahiro will be with us until then..."

It was about a half hour later when Ms. Necara spoke over the intercom, letting everyone in the school know that an assembly was about to take place... Chahiro was very nervous as she waited with her parents in the auditorium, thankfully Micah and Kira didn't take long to come in and sit by them...

" Hey Chahiro..." Kira said worriedly, " Are you doing ok?"

" Yeah, just nervous about having to face Naira and her mother..." Chahiro said worriedly, " I can't imagine what she's going to do later when my parents aren't here..."

" Don't worry..." Micah said grinning, " We'll take care of her if she even threatens to do anything to you! We've got your back!"

" I'm glad she at least has two good friends in this gods foresaken school..." Mr. Onigo said smiling, " Isn't that right, Yuko?"

" Yes... " Mrs. Onigo said, smiling warmly, " Thank you both very much for being such good friends for our daughter..."

A short time later, Ms. Necara came out on stage and anounced that Naira had something she would like to say to Chahiro and every other student that she had been guilty of bullying...

" I'd like to formally apologize to any and all students I've been mean to..." Naira said clearly, though her eyes were down cast, " I know that words are very hurtful, and I'm very very sorry for ever being mean or hateful to my fellow classmates... Especially you, Chahiro Onigo... I hope you will find it in your heart to forgive me one day so that maybe we can be friends..."

Ms. Necara walked back out on stage afterwords, beaming a brilliant smile.

" That was a lovely apology dear!" Ms. Necara said happily, " Very nice, very nice! Alright, you may all return to classes now!"

Chahiro walked to her next class with her two best friends in silence, the three of them unaware of the dark glint in Naira's eyes as they walked past her... Their other classes were uneventful, and soon, thankfully, it was time for lunch... Chahiro smiled happily as she opened her light purple lunch box to review the yummy lunch her mother had made for her... Homemade herb cheese, salami rolls with cream cheese in the middle, roasted vegetables and rice, pork fried dumplings and sweet vanilla dumplings for desert.

" Wow!" Kira sighed with stars in her eyes, " Your so lucky Chahiro! My mom never makes goodies like that for me!"

" Quit being so dramatic..." Micah said rolling his eyes and grinning, " You know our mom is an awesome cook too!"

" I know... But Chahiro's mom! She really knows how to cook!" Kira exclaimed.

Chahiro laughed as she handed a sweet dumpling to each of her friends grinning.

" You know how my mom is, she always packs way too much for me to eat by myself!" Chahiro said grinning.

" Just another reason why we absolutely adore you!" Kira gushed.

" And your mom and dad too!" Micah said grinning.

Happy to get her mind off of Naira and everything she'd said about her, Chahiro and her friends enjoyed their meal together, talking and laughing as friends often do...

" So, Chahiro?" Kira asked.

" Yeah?" Chahiro answered.

" Do you want to have a sleepover with us this weekend?" Kira asked.

" Absolutely!" Chahiro said happily, " I'd have to make sure it's ok with my mom and dad though, but I'm sure they'd be happy!"

" Awesome! We'll watch scary movies and play games and stay up late!" Kira said happily.

" It'll be totally awesome!" Micah said enthusiastically.

Chahiro laughed happily with her friends as the bell rang, signalling that lunch was over. The rest of the day went by rather quickly, and Chahiro and her friends were excited about thier up coming slumber party that weekend. It was Monday, so they still had four more days before the weekend, plenty of time for Chahiro to ask her mom if she could help her prepare some snacks and goodies for them, but she planned on letting that be a surprise for them... She couldn't wait to see the looks on their faces when she showed up with all the yummy goodies...

The trio talked animatedly about thier upcoming slumber party, unaware that Naira had been following them until they got out into the hallway when thier last class was over.

" Hey guys!" Naira said happily, " I heard you guys were having a slumber party this weekend!"

" Yeah, we haven't had a slumber party in a while, so we figured it would be fun..." Kira said guardedly.

" Well I hope you guys have fun!" Naira said grinning, " I was thinking about having a party at my house next weekend if you want to come."

" Um..." Chahiro said thinking, " We'll have to ask our parents about it..."

" Great! I hope you guys can make it!" Naira said excitedly, " My cousins are coming in and they really want to meet everyone!"

" That sounds cool..." Micah said worriedly.

" It will be!" Naira said excitedly as she suddenly grabbed Chahiro in a fierce hug, " This will be an awesome way to announce our new friendship! See you later!"

And Naira was off like a bold of lightning, leaving the three friends stunned in her wake... The three friends continued to be on their way, unaware of Naira's true intentions...

" Phase one complete..." Naira said to herself grinning, " Now, all I have to do is find out what Chahiro is afraid of and payback will be sweet!"
