He looked down at his dirt-covered hands for a second, before dropping them back to his sides. Beads of sweat piled on his nose and without so much of a noise in the windy night, a droplet fell onto the ground.
Looking through the mass of trees, he half hoped to see her standing there, watching him, but felt somewhat relieved when he saw nothing, except for the falling leaves.
It was the first time he had ever rejected, or broken a girls heart.
He remembered how he had burst out his answer without hesitation.
…"Sorry, but I don't feel the same way."…
He didn't know what made him say that. His heart had obviously pumped for her, but what if she had been lying? What if it had been one of her sick jokes? Who was to say 'yes' to fear?

It wouldn't work out anyway, he told himself, forcing out a smile.

Anyways, hello! This is my first time uploading a fic in over a month :) Why? Laziness would explain it all. Yep. Laziness. I watched TV all day, and got fat, haha.
