*Same Day 4:30 AM*
"Kiaria baby come on...It's so early" A man groaned sitting on the ground watching his...Girlfriend? Slipping on her coat after slipping on her running shoes. "Look Pete just because you stayed up all night doing god knows what in the kitchen, Doesn't mean I slack off on my jog" She snorted with frustration as she turned to the door making sure she had her keys. "I know, I know." He mumbled softly wrapping his hands around her waist snuggling his nose into her neck as his red hair covered his golden eyes.
Kiaria looked over at him with a frown she knew it's been a rough two months after Sakura...She knew what happened but it made her just feel bad for the two of them but Peter and her bonded closer than they already were. Her hand subconsciously moved to the collar she wore that Peter gifted her as a gag gift. The students in school always joked that Peter had a pet wolf due to the number of times Kiaria would just snap and go feral on anyone who had any ill intent on Peter so he got her collar saying Peter's wolf. Despite it as a joke she actually had butterflies in her stomach upon receiving it.
"Kiaria?" He noticed her distant look snapping her out of her thoughts and gave a nervous chuckle. "Sorry was thinking but never mind that! You need to get ready cause we only will come back to get our books!" She said placing her hands on her exposed hips and giving him a cocked eyebrow. Peter couldn't take his eyes off the woman from her silver hair brushed to the right and the left side of her hair shaved down to her red auburn eyes to the curvy body that made any man and woman want her. "Damn your beautiful..."He said making Kiaria blush and poke him snapping him from his trance.
"Come back, lover boy."She chuckled watching him pout before sliding on his shoes and standing up doing the same with his lightweight coat. "See was that so hard?" Peter glared at her with a small blush covering his cheeks as he motioned for her to lead the way as the Duo left the small home and began their morning run like they do every morning.
The two continued down the sidewalk as they watched the sun slowly poke above the city line. Peter thought back to the exact moment he met Kiaria and started this journey with her.
Two Months Ago
"Damn it!" Peter screamed reading old messages from Sakura not knowing what the hell happened...It was fine he would have waited but she just blocked him and with no warning. "Sakura..." He sniffled sitting on the bench near the college he was attending looking at the screen saver of him and Sakura at their last date at the hot springs. He felt sick...guilty and hurt. He wasn't sure if it was because he damn neared killed a man or the fact he was with a minor and was actually in love with her.
Before he can wallow himself deeper into despair a shadow passed him and plopped next to him letting out a sigh. Peter glanced over and saw the silver hair and red-eyed woman herself who just looked at him with a scowl. "What?" She asked with a frown seeing his red-rimmed eyes and gapped mouth. "Oh no, you don't! Your face just screams heartbreak and I refuse to be a rebound" She said crossing her arms and facing her back to him which Peter was surprised that she just brushed him away like nothing. But it didn't hurt him...No it intrigued him.
"Peter...Peter Stanford." He put his hand out for her to shake making Kiaria look at his hand and to his face. "Kiaria Junko..."She shook his hand not aware that this man will be her world from that point on.
*Present Time*
"Hey, Kiaria do you think we can have a vacation...Just you and me?" Peter asked making her come to a stop and look at him as his eyes seemed downcast to the ground. "What's going on? You know...You can talk to me?" She said walking to him and pulling him into a hug as Peter sighed softly loving the smell of her perfume as it seemed to calm him down when his brain runs a mile a minute.
"I'm okay just think it would be fun for us to have more alone time before finals" he purred nibbling her ear making her giggle, "It better be just that! I have no need for a sad man in my life."She grinned holding his hand making him blush since Kiaria doesn't usually do PDA. "Let's go, master."She chuckled tugging him to follow as a smirk crossed his lips looking at his Angel.
"Hey, Yua I need your help!" A squealing voice echoed in the crowded hall making the young woman groan and just wish she had the power of turning invisible without issue. Taking a deep breath she closed her shoe locker and turned to the green-haired woman who ran to her with a large grin on her face. "You won't believe it! Your suggestion worked!" She squealed not caring about Yua rolling her eye in agitation. "I'm happy for you I really am! But right now I have too much to do than to talk about your repaired relationship..."She sighed but before she can leave she was cut off again. "Hold on! I have tons of friends who need that wise words can you help them like soon?" She said and Yua just can feel her eye twitch.
"I don't...know if I can since ya know It's almost finals and studying,"Yua said trying to pull excuses from the sky but the green-haired brat was not gonna take no for an answer. Yua can just see it on her face making her sigh but before she can agree a hand touched her shoulder as a man taller than her looked down at the green-haired student. "Can I borrow her for a second I'm sure you wanna ask your boyfriend why he was leaving the hall with your friend?" He said voice holding no emotion as a range of emotions was on the girl's face who then turned screaming for her boyfriend and friend while running down the hall.
"Thanks..."Yua said once she was out of sight looking to the man who looked down at her with a brief nod before turning walking away. Yua felt her heart jump a bit watching him leave as his black hair seemed to sway a certain way that made the blonde streaks stand out in a way that made her nibble her lip. She wasn't sure what it was but whatever it was it made her cross her legs and blush as many thoughts crossed her mind. "Ah what the hell!" She shook her head not wanting to think about such dirty thoughts about a man she didn't even know. Sighing she gathered her thoughts and proceeded to her class.
Walking into class she sat down ignoring the obnoxious class clowns and the bitchy prep girls; plopping in her seat she glanced over to her childhood friend Niko who was writing in his notebook not knowing his friend had entered the class. "So Niko, must be copying notes hm?" Watching the poor boy jumped he looked to Yua who had a shit-eating grin on her face. "For your information no I'm not...I am writing the day's date" He mumbled showing her which made her stifle a laugh.
"Not funny..." He huffed closing his book as he turned giving her his full undivided attention. "So guess what?" She asked head resting on her hand as she stared into his eyes making him blush and rub the back of his neck asking what. "I met probably the most Edward Cullen vibe guy in this school cause he has me feeling like Bella Swan right now." She smirked watching him look at her surprised that she even is willing to talk about a guy to him. "He has me debating to change underwear and biting my lip and holy crap he is just hot!" She sighed placing her hand on her heart in a dramatic effect making Niko shake his head. "This is something you need to talk to Sakura about not me."He grumbled his somewhat good mood ruined by Yua talking about being turned on by a total stranger.
"Oh come on Niko! I was only messing!" She pouted seeing him ignore her making her glare at him, "Fine you get no food from me!" She turned to face the front of the class and Niko cringed actually liking Yua cooking but he just couldn't get out of his head when she said that she felt like Bella Swan.
"But isn't Bella Swan hella emotionless?" He asked watching as Yua gasped whipping her head to him making her stick her tongue out at him, "Bully." She hissed
Sakura glanced at her textbook her eyes scanning the words but not absorbing them she just let out a deflated sigh as she just can feel the anxiety run through her body as she tapped her finger softly on the pages she didn't pick up on Dima glancing at her but could feel eyes on her but not enough for her to look up in curiosity. She heard the sliding door open signaling the teacher entering the classroom as she looked up seeing a substitute in their normal teacher place.
"Um hi as you know is not in today she had a run-in with some thug and got hurt and is currently resting in the hospital so I'm in her place!" The chirpy obviously young teacher said trying to ignore the obvious boys drooling at her as wolves do with deer. "Anyway, I'm Ms. Mikan and it's nice to meet you all but enough about me we need to get on with today's lesson," She said walking to the board and beginning to write on it trying to ignore the eyes of all the boys.
Sakura a bit zoned out felt a tap on her back making her look seeing Dima handing her a folded-up piece of paper. Grabbing it she placed it in her textbook and opened it softly to make sure the sound of crinkle paper wasn't loud.
"Are you okay?"
She smiled softly always glad Dima was there to make sure she wasn't sinking back into those dark days, Quickly writing back she handed it back to him as he did the same reading her reply.
"Yeah just tired"
Dima glanced at the teacher seeing her facing the class now meaning their brief note passing was over. He tucked into his pocket and crossed his arms leaning back slightly paying attention to today's lesson.
Classes carried on as workdays seemed to be just as slow as the last unless you were an ambulance or police officer. It seemed ever since last night crime has been at an all-time high but something was off sometimes the victims died before they can do anything and then in the back of the ambulance they would just sit up and jump the nearest person sinking their teeth into them causing mayhem. Too many ambulances were lost in the span of a few hours and now it seemed officers had to be in the car now to protect the doctors from the victim. Nothing was making sense.
"Cheif!" A young rookie cop ran up to the older man who was on the phone, He glanced at the rookie and put the call on hold. "What is it?" He snapped feeling the stress of the past hours building up. "W-We lost another ambulance the victim went for the officer and left the doctor defenseless. The chief rubbed his nose his head pounding. He could say nothing but wave them away making the Rookie nod and runoff in hopes of helping.
"Hello?" He mumbled pressing the unmute button. "Look shut down the city...it's just spreading the longer we talk" A gargled cough was heard on the other end. "Sir?" The chief mumbled fearing the worst for his best friend and boss. "You need to kill any of those bastards who have been bit or have that grey dead skin...DO NOT HESITATE DAITAN!" His friend screamed before the sound of a gunshot made him flinch knowing his best friend just killed himself after being attacked by one of the culprits.
Saki felt a sharp pain in the corner of her head making her drop her pencil and clench her temple. She hissed softly so the class isn't disturbed as she quickly gathered her thoughts and reached down grabbing her pencil and placing it down. She raised her hand timidly not liking the attention on her, "What Kuro?" The teacher saw Saki rubbing her head with a pained look and usually, that was legit since Saki never bothered class. "You can go to the nurse..."Saki was glad the teacher knew her problem so she stood grabbing her stuff and left class walking past Parker who looked worried and had a pair of dark eyes watching her every move.
She wasn't sure where the pain came from but she didn't want to go to the nurse right away so she made her way to the window facing the city just to look out but she saw a sight a lot more horrified than she will ever imagine the city was burning and it seemed people were making their way to the school. They moved like slugs but blood followed each step. "W-What is that?" She whimpered hands clasping her mouth as she watch freaks chewing away all the flesh from the gatekeeper making her feel the bile rise up her throat causing her to vomit onto the window sill.
"Saki!" She heard her sister and it caused her to turn to face her older sister who looked shocked and a bit disgusted. "What's wrong?" Saki shook her head too stunned to say anything as she shakingly pointed to the window watching her sister look and her blue calm eyes wide as fear filled them. "W-What the fuck?!" She screamed loudly surely making the classes nearby hear but before anyone can approach the siblings for questioning the sound of the intercom filled the hallways.
"Students we are in a current state of emergency please evacuate the building in an orderly manner avoiding anyone who has the signs on grey skin or bleeding from eyes, nose, mouth, and ears." Sakura and Dima looked at one another confused as the principal continue to speak in a panicked voice. "Don't let them near you, I repeat nowhere near you A bite or a Scratch with certainly be death." Parker stood up ignoring his teacher's commands as he rushed out to look for Saki.
It seemed like the end of the intercom till the sound of liquid hit the mike as a loud thud is heard...then silence...The class was quiet it was so quiet it made Yua feel highly uncomfortable as she felt cold. The silence was broken once more by the intercom as unearthly growls escaped the speaker as screams from teachers can be heard in the background. That was enough to send students into a mass uproar not knowing that because of this the school was gonna become a ghost of what it was along with the undead stumbling for their next meal.
