Taki could only stare at the girl in front of him. He could only imagine the thoughts going through her head as they sat there with their eyes locked onto each other. Although Mitsuhas near furious expression was pretty much enough to give him a good idea of her opinion on Taki being in her homeroom.

Mitsuha reached out looking ready to drag Taki outside and give him a full-on interrogation when the teacher called out to them both.

"Are you two coming in?"

"Yes, miss." Was the simultaneous answer from Taki and Mitsuha the latter briefly glancing back up at the boy in surprise.

Both walk to take their seats. However, both find that the only remaining seats are the ones right next to each other. Another glance goes between the two teenagers as well as a frustrated expression from Mitsuha before they both sit down.

It was at this moment however the two registered the looks they were getting from around them. Having failed to notice the other students in the room, they now saw the cheeky whispers back and forth and the coy smiles plastered on many of the student's faces. It was obvious where things were headed. Taki and Mitsuha were about to become the school's new hottest item.

Taki looked to his left to see Mitsuha bury her head in her hands, the pink blush on her face still visible, however. If Taki hadn't felt bad about messing with her earlier, he was certainly on a one-way guilt trip now.

The boy hung his head low and lower as he continued to hear the whispers between his new peers,

"-got a boyfriend huh?"

"Ooooo, look at the two lovebirds."

"-couldn't land that in a million years."

"Where do you think-"

"-good looks but-"

"He is definitely my type…"

The comments made Taki go a little red with shame. At least he was a little bit popular, right? Again guilt overtook Taki as he glanced at Mitsuha. The girl was massaging her temples while wearing an expression of someone who now must really, REALLY, want out of this town. Taki sank further into his chair and his guilt.

"Well class, we have a new student in Itomori today," the teacher smiled brightly. Taki's attention refocused to the front of the room, "Give a welcome to Taki!"

At this Taki went to stand up but felt himself trip on something and stumbled. Almost falling onto Mitsuha.

Just in the nick of time, he was able to rebalance himself and quickly went as rigidly straight as a statue.

"Hello!" Taki exclaimed with the energy you'd expect from someone else who almost went toppling over a minute ago,

There was a round of snickers from the boys of the room, obviously gleeful at his humiliation (probably out of jealousy). While the girls giggled at the strange clumsiness of Taki. Much to the dismay of a few of the boys.

Taki felt his face flush slightly at the situation, he needed to be less clumsy. But as Taki sat back down he noticed a smirk on Mitsuhas face. It didn't take long for him to piece together the possibility in his mind that maybe he wasn't clumsy.

Taki however was uncommonly patient when it came to certain things. So for the remainder of homeroom, and much further through the day, he waited and waited. When lunch rolled around, and the students either filed out into the cramped cafeteria or out into the field. Taki beelined for the field.

As he speed-walked to outside, Taki kept an eye on the hall behind him and Mitsuha. When he got outside he moved to a good place in the field to wait until he saw Mitsuha, followed by her friends from earlier, walk outside. Taki watched them closely, then he saw Mitsuha laugh and talk to the other two and point over to the end of the field. Taki looked over at the spot, which was a shady area beneath a tree with a couple of unused desks piled beneath.

Taki grinned, maybe a little evilly, and strode over. Beating Mitsuha and her friends to the chase. Sitting down on one of the chairs, Taki closed his eyes and kicked his feet up onto one of the desks. Allowing himself a private smile. There was then a sensation of someone prodding Taki in the shoulder. When he peeked open one of his eyes he saw a damn furious Mitsuha.

"What are you doing?" She demanded,

Taki sat up and smiled at her. This seemed to only increase the amount of rage filled in the girl. Which at this point increased the amount of delight in Taki.

"I'm just sitting here. Why?" Taki responded calmly,

"You knew we were going to sit here! What's your problem?" Mitsuha pointed at him accusingly her voice increasing in volume slightly.

"Firstly how could I have known that? We've known each other for barely any time-"

"Yet I already dislike you," interjected Mitsuha, earning her a look from Taki.

"Secondly. I kind of do have a problem when someone trips me when I introduce myself." Taki stated, a little more aggressively,

"How could I have known that," Mitsuha responded smiling mockingly, "Now can we sit there?"

Taki looked next to her, seeing Mitsuhas friends who while defensive looking, were obviously a little confused as to the behavior of their friend. Clearly, Taki was the only person who had messed with Mitsuha this much. So he decided to continue to keep his title. Looking back to Mitsuhas impatient and annoyed expression, Taki told her,

"No."

"UGH!" Mitsuha exclaimed angrily,

Suddenly the girl came at Taki and pushed him backward. The chair tilted back as Taki began to fall. However, it seemed Mitsuha had not really thought anything through as she was caught by the leg of the chair and tripped over too. Falling directly onto Taki in a mess of tangled limbs.

Taki peeked open his eyes seeing only a mess of black hair and a red ribbon in his vision. He attempted moving out from under Mitsuha only to find his hand resting squished between them and on top of-NOPE NOPE NOPE.

Suddenly the two teenagers seemed to realize the proximity of each other as well as the fact the Taki had firmly been holding...um...Mitsuha, in a place that was less than formal. With a near-screech from both, they scrambled away from each other. Mitsuha covering her chest area with an obviously pink face, and Taki with an equally unsatisfying blush, clutching his wrist. There was a brief moment of silence and eye contact between the two as neither could figure out what to say. Before Mitsuha's friend sat himself on one of the desks and said,

"Well looks like this area is free now, right?" He looked at Taki questioningly,

"U-uh...Yeah." came the reply before Taki staggered to his feet and walked away, still clutching the wrist of the hand that...well it was kind of a moment now ingrained into his brain, so no point in talking about it right?

As he made his way back across the field his face still flushed and a hand still wrapped around his other, Taki approached the school doors before looking back to the tree.
Mitsuhas friends were lounging in seats (or in the boy's case, on a desk) but Mitsuha remained curled up on the ground, still clutching her chest. Her face was still pink. Taki opened the door and walked inside before closing it behind him and leaning up against the wall.

"Oh, crap."
