The Librarian knew better. She had a lot of work to do, and very little time to do it in. She and the rest of her world were working hard to pick up the pieces after the storm. Everyone knew the War was practically over. They had won, barely, and at terrible cost. In many ways the least of that cost had been the celestial archives being damaged during the invasion, with many entries being burnt or otherwise destroyed. It wasn't certain if the archives could ever be rebuilt, to say nothing of the rest of their world… Or their own lives…

Privately, for she did not want to lower anyone's morale, the Librarian did not think so. There had been too much suffering, too much death, too much chaos, for things to ever be as they were. In her heart, the Librarian knew they could never even be happy again.

It was a lesson she had first learnt the hard way centuries ago when the war had begun. When she had endeavoured to preserve the archives. She wondered for what purpose. Most people believed the archives had been lost entirely and were now too jaded to give a damn about them anyway. Even she barely cared, concerned with merely having something to do and the meagre money she could earn for herself. And for her daughter.

Her child had been born during the war, underground, in the dark as they all prayed they might yet live to see another day. She alone had kept her going in the darkest of times, though she was certain her daughter's future was to be as bleak as the Hell she was born amidst.

Now the war was over she had brought her along to the ruins of the archives and persuaded her to lend a hand in organizing the surviving entries. What she hadn't expected though, was for her daughter to be a natural with the archives, to be able to navigate the damaged systems and pull up the most frequently visited entries. To indeed find the most visited entry under her mother's username. And worse, to be eager to access it, to find out what her mother had found so fascinating about the entry.

Her mother had tried to dissuade her but her daughter's exuberance to play with this new 'toy', along with noticing there was an update or two to the entry made the Librarian give up. With a sigh of exasperation, she had allowed her daughter to activate the entry, the junior narration circuits automatically kicking in. Taking a seat on the rubble strewn ground. Preferring not to be bombarded by the light of the holograms, she closed her eyes, hoping to get some rest if nothing else. The voice of the narrator was however too loud, so she couldn't help but hear every word it spoke.

Once upon a time, deep within the Milky Way Galaxy, there existed a shining kingdom that spanned an entire Solar System.

The kingdom was a place of peace and beauty, but also the envy of the forces of darkness. Thankfully they were no match for the defenders of the kingdom, the Sailor Team!

The most powerful Senshi of all were Sailor Pluto, Sailor Saturn, Sailor Neptune and their leader, Sailor Uranus. Together they were the Outer Senshi, the kingdom's shield against enemies beyond their solar system.

However, evil dwelt within the solar system too, thus the task of vanquishing it fell to the Inner Senshi. Though not as powerful as their four comrades, few foes could withstand the might of Sailor Mercury, Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Mars and their leader, Sailor Venus.

Thanks to the Senshi, and the power of the fabled Silver Crystal, the Queen of the kingdom, Serenity, ruled with love and wisdom, which to her were one and the same thing.

Though the Queen loved every world in her kingdom, she loved the blue planet, Earth, most of all. The only person as dedicated to taking care of the Earth as the Queen Herself was Endymion, the planet's one true protector. But neither took more joy in the beauty of the sapphire world than the Queen's daughter, the pure hearted Princess Serenity.

Alas, the tranquility and beauty of the kingdom were not to last.

One fateful day an wicked army, led by a ruler whose heart was full of dark jealousy and black envy, attacked the kingdom. Many died, the once shining palace fell into ruin, and both the Queen and her daughter were seemingly lost forever. Only with the power of the Silver Crystal were these emmissarries of chaos halted.

But can any kingdom, any people, any ruler, ever truly survive such horrors? Perhaps so.

Such was the fate of Crystal Tokyo, the likes of which have not been seen since the halcyon days of the Silver Millennium.

The Librarian's eyes were no longer closed. Through her tears she looked up at the final parting hologram. A glittering crystal palace stood proudly, and a beautiful and regal woman with long pigtails that ended in two hair buns sat smiling upon a throne, surrounded by a handsome man, a young girl who had to be their daughter and eight women in sailor uniforms.

Trembling, the Librarian slowly hugged her daughter. For several minutes her eyes were consumed by the bright silver light of the hologram. Then, with a hopeful heart, she went on with her work, wonderfully aware of the rising sun.

A/N: So obviously this fic is a companion piece to 'Tragedy', celebrating the endurance of the new Moon Kingdom, Crystal Tokyo, today on New Year's Day.

Originally I was gonna do these as one fic and celebrate both the SilMil and CT eras at once, but I think this worked out better and gets the point across. Crystal Tokyo is the proof that things might never be the same as they were, but they can still be good, maybe even better before.

I am gifting this to SinJazz, not only because she has betaed for me so many times but also because she was honestly concerned that my stories were so depressing. Hope this reassures you that I don't just do doom and gloom, lol!

Happy New Year Sin, and to everyone else too!

Also just to let you know I am involved in a discord called 'Moonlight Legends' which is dedicated to sharing all sorts of Sailor Moon fanworks, including other fanfics.
