A/N: This story is set a sequel to my earlier fic 'The Message'.
"Your majesties?"
Standing amidst the sparkling crystalline palace, King Endymion did his best to suppress a chuckle. His wife on the other hand was less than successful. "Luna, how many times have we been over this? Of all people you don't need to be so formal with us."
"I do when it's a formal setting, your majesties. And besides," the black cat adopted a pompous expression, "I'm not a 'people', I'm a cat."
Neo-Queen Serenity clenched her fist and ground her teeth. Even after all these decades, Luna could still press her buttons. "What did you want 'Chief Counselor Luna of planet Mau'?"
Luna sighed in exasperation and shook her ebony head. "We've picked up an encrypted transmission from and it seems to be addressed directly to you?"
"Well, it is our Pearl Jubilee today" offered Endymion, hoping to diffuse the lingering tension. "We must be getting thousands of messages."
"But why for me specifically? We've ruled together for thirty years, why just send me something?"
"That's just it," interjected Luna, "I don't think this message is about your jubilee." She continued after Serenity and Endymion exchanged confused looks with one another. "You see, this message comes from well beyond our solar system. By our calculations it was being transmitted far faster than the speed of light but it still would've been sent years before your jubilee. In fact-"
"It would've probably been made before we founded Crystal Tokyo," finished Endymion.
Luna nodded.
"But… My identity would've been a secret back then. Most people on Earth wouldn't have known I was a Senshi, let alone that I was Serenity. And off Earth… Luna… can you play the message for us now?"
"As you command."
Serenity rolled her eyes as the ebony feline turned away and approached a crystalline device. A moment later the sound of cheering resounded through the massive throne room. Serenity stiffened in apprehension, as though not daring to anticipate the source of the message.
"From all of us here on New Kinmoku…"
"Wait… Kinmoku…?" Luna's eyes were wide. Upon spotting this, Endymion inclined his head towards his wife, just catching her suppress a gasp of surprise, "…thank you Sailor Moon!"
Serenity's bottom lip began to tremble. For a moment she strongly resembled the young schoolgirl Luna had met so very long ago.
"THANK YOU SAILOR MOON!"
Happy tears flowed down her face.
"STAGE ON!"
As the sound of singing began, Serenity was overcome with emotion and needed to sit down. Understanding soon dawned on Endymion and he moved over to the crystalline apparatus.
"Wh-what're you doing?" asked Serenity.
"I think everyone should hear this." At the touch of a control Endymion sent the music through the streets of Crystal Tokyo, across the planet and up to the Moon itself.
"Endymion, won't that make me seem a little…self-centred?"
He shook his head slowly and smiled at her indulgently as he walked back over. "It's not self-centred to celebrate the girl who's love saved two worlds and illuminated the whole galaxy."
"But…" she quieted down as her King took her hand, coaxed her out of her seat and gently pulled her towards him.
"Happy Jubilee," he began quietly, "Usako," he finished with a whisper.
They began to dance and didn't stop until the Starlights finished their final song.
